Chapter 29 The Sorcerer's Stone (1)

The Christmas holiday passed quietly, and Hermione returned to Hogwarts. The school, which was originally quiet during the holidays, suddenly became lively again. Hermione brought back a lot of snacks for the three of them.

Hermione wasn't surprised that they hadn't found any information on Nicolas during the holiday.

Jane still put her mind on Quirrell, because she noticed that the garlic smell on Quirrell's body was stronger. Obviously, this should be the reason for the aggravation of the rancid smell, so there was such a result.

This afternoon, Jane came to the library on a rare occasion. She wrapped herself very tightly and sat in the corner of the library. When she saw the content about alchemy, she suddenly saw the name Harry and the others had been looking for—Nicole May.She quickly read down and found that this man had lived to be 660 years old, and more importantly, he had invented the Philosopher's Stone.

Closing the book, she thought she knew what Dumbledore was hiding in which classroom on the third floor of Hogwarts.

So who wants to get it?Is it Snape?Or Quirrell?

The role of the Philosopher's Stone has two aspects, one is to turn any metal into gold, and the other is to develop the elixir of life.Regarding these two effects, neither Snape nor Quirrell seemed to be using them for themselves. So this can only prove that they are looking for the Philosopher's Stone for others.

Jane thought of the rancid smell on Quirrell's body and his hood that never left. She felt that it was necessary to talk to Principal Dumbledore about this matter. But when she stepped out of the library and was blown by the oncoming cold wind, she felt that she should not interfere in this matter—what purpose does Quirrell have, and what does it have to do with her! She's just here to travel, with public funds! She didn't come here to solve the case.Even if Quirrell takes away the Philosopher's Stone and calls the wind and rain, what does it have to do with her!

The reason why she investigated Quirrell before was purely out of curiosity, and now she went to this muddy water again, for fear of causing trouble, especially since she didn't want to attract anyone's attention at all.

So, after leaving the library, Jane gave up looking for Professor Dumbledore. But before she could walk a few steps, she saw Snape walking towards her.

Snape obviously noticed her too, especially when he saw the thick book in Jane's arms, he stopped in his tracks and narrowed his eyes slightly: "Miss Jean, what are you doing here?"

Jane tightened her hand holding the book, pretending to be relaxed and said with a smile: "I'm just going back to the dormitory."

"Give me the book in your hand." Snape held out his hand, looking at her coldly with black eyes.

Jane's heart sank a bit, because she folded a corner of that page and made a mark when she saw Nicolome. If Snape found out, he might know what she was looking for.

"Give it to me, Gene," Snape said impatiently.

Jane had no choice but to hand the book out obediently.

Snape looked at the book, which was an inch thick, with the words "Wonderful Alchemy" written in gold on the pitch-black case.He opened the book, and soon found that a corner of a page was specially folded, and the content of that page was about the Philosopher's Stone.

"Your book has been confiscated." Snape said coldly, "Come with me."

Jane had a very bad premonition, she even thought about slipping away halfway, but Snape stared at her as if he was a prisoner, and didn't give her a chance to slip away halfway. He didn't stop until he reached the door of Snape's office.

He opened the door, and he closed the door immediately after Jane came in.

"Now, let's discuss what you know." Snape raised the book in his hand: "Jane Jean, please explain why you want to mark this page here?"

Jane smiled slightly, and said calmly: "Because I think the Philosopher's Stone is the most magical thing among all alchemy items, so I made a mark here, and plan to study the Philosopher's Stone carefully next time."

"What have you and Potter been doing lately?" Snape's tone of voice was soft, like a feather brushing by, but the danger contained in it was self-evident.

"We didn't do anything," Jane said.

Snape stared at her, obviously not believing what Jane said at all: "Since you said you read this book out of curiosity, well, I accept your reason. Then you encouraged the Weasley twins to attack Quirrell , and why?"

Jane caught her breath, and she was surprised that Snape knew about this matter, and more importantly, Snape could bear to ask her until now.

"Don't put me off with stupid reasons you think I'll believe," Snape said sarcastically.

Jane pursed her lips, feeling that she couldn't hide it today. She was easy to explain about the book, but she couldn't figure out a legitimate reason for attacking Quirrell.

"Well, if I say so, you can't deduct my points." Jane felt that she had better negotiate the terms with Snape first, otherwise it would be bad to be killed by the time.

Snape said coldly, "You think you can teach me how to do it?"

"Of course I can't teach you how to do it, I just ask for a little benefit for myself." Jane said: "I can't tell you and you will deduct points later, it's better if you deduct points now and I don't tell you."

Snape felt that the quiet Gene was even more difficult to deal with than Granger's little girl, and he said with an ugly face: "Before I deduct points, you'd better tell me everything you know. come out."

"Well, the reason why I let the Weasley twins attack Professor Quirrell is very simple." Jane said, "Because I think Professor Quirrell is abnormal."

"Not normal?" Snape looked at Jane suspiciously.

"Before this, I had inquired about Professor Quirrell, and I found that he did not have the habit of using a headscarf before, but after he went to the Black Forest, he never took it off in the sight of others. Turban, this is very strange. The development of a person's behavior is a subtle process, which takes at least a few months, but Professor Quirrell's change is too sudden. Of course, the reason why Professor Quirrell attracted my attention It's not just his turban, it's more that I smell something on him."

"You mean garlic?" said Snape. "Anyone with a nose can smell it."

"No, it's the smell of rot, to be precise, the smell of rotting meat." Jane said.

Snape's face suddenly became very ugly, his whole face seemed to be submerged in icy water, cold and ferocious.

"The garlic smell on his body is just to cover up this smell, so it's so strong." Jane said: "If it's because he's afraid of vampires, I think he shouldn't use garlic, but should try to use more silverware, but he doesn't No."

"So you sent the Weasley twins to attack Quirrell," Snape said.

"No, it's not an attack, we're just betting." Jane said, "I just asked them to take off his turban. I didn't want to do anything to Professor Quirrell."
