Chapter 249 The Slug Club (2)

The relationship between Hermione and Ron had completely changed, and neither Harry nor Jane knew this.At the same time, the two of them often find out how redundant their presence is, especially when Hermione and Ron are fighting.Maybe it wasn't an argument, at least not in the eyes of Jane and Harry.

However, it was precisely because of the changes in the relationship between Hermione and Ron that Hermione finally had no time to pay attention to Jane.At least she wasn't staring at her worriedly like she had been a few days ago, worried that she would do something stupid for Snape's sake.

As for Jane and Snape, apart from that conversation in the office, they never spoke to each other again.During class, Snape would never call Jane's name, and Jane would never raise her hand to speak. Most of the time, Jane watched Snape silently, and Snape would secretly watch Jane's every move during Jane's training. Both of them were careful not to be seen by the other, and they both managed to do so.

When the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin started in November, due to Ron's emotional tension, the practice has not gone smoothly these days.In addition, there was a lot of conflict between Ron and Hermione, and the two children in the ambiguous period completely broke up.And the direct reason for their collapse was because Ron knew that Hermione had made out with Krum, which made Ron extremely angry. The important thing was that both Harry and Jane knew why Ron was angry, but neither of them could speak.Because once the two of them spoke about this matter, it meant helping Ron and Hermione confess in disguise. But in fact, as the two people involved, they didn't seem to realize the subtle atmosphere and emotional changes between the two, which made Jane and Harry a headache in the middle.

On the day of the game between Slytherin and Gryffindor, after Gryffindor won the game, Ron finally had his No.1 girlfriend, Lavender Brown. When everyone was cheering for Gryffindor's victory, Ron and Lavender were kissing, which happened to be seen by Hermione.

Jane gave chase, along with Harry. But Jane stopped Harry because she didn't think he was a boy to speak to Hermione.Harry finally chose to follow Jane's advice and backed away.

The corridor outside the Gryffindor common room seemed deserted, and Jane had found Hermione in the first unlocked classroom. She was sitting alone on the podium, and a group of chirping little yellow birds were flying around her head, apparently conjured up out of thin air just now.

"Oh, hello, Jane," she said in a nonchalant voice, "I'm just practicing."

"Great grades." Jane sat next to Hermione.

Hermione was silent for a while without speaking.Jane knew that she was controlling her emotions, just like when she faced Snape, she couldn't speak easily, because too much emotion accumulated in her throat, and once she spoke, she would be out of control.

Until Jane thought that Hermione would say nothing more, Hermione suddenly said in a high-pitched voice, "Ron seemed to be having a good time at the celebration."

"Maybe he would be happier if he heard your congratulations." Jane thought about how she should word it more appropriately.

"Oh, is it? But I don't think he's ever—"

The door behind them was knocked open suddenly, and Ron came in giggling, grabbing Lavender's hand.

"Oh." He stopped short when he saw Jane and Hermione.

"Ouch!" Lavender giggled and exited the classroom.

The door closed behind her.

There was an eerie, stormy silence in the classroom.Hermione stared at Ron, who, instead of looking at her, said in an awkward, bravado, grotesque, "Hey, Jane! I wonder where you've been!"

Hermione slid off the podium, and a flock of golden birds continued to chirp around her head. This makes her look like a strange, feathered model of the solar system.

"You shouldn't have Lavender waiting for you outside," she said quietly. "She'll wonder where you went."

Hermione walked slowly towards the door with her head held high.

Ron seemed relieved that nothing worse had happened, but somehow Jane wasn't relieved that Hermione wasn't throwing a tantrum and losing control of her emotions. She always felt that Hermione would not let Ron go easily.

Sure enough, when Hermione walked to the door, she heard Hermione shouting: "All bullets!"

There was a scream at the door.

Jane turned sharply and saw Hermione pointing her wand at Ron with a very excited expression on her face. The birds shot at Ron like a heavy cloud of golden bullets, and Ron screamed and covered his face with his hands, but the birds came fiercely, pecking and scratching at every skin within their reach.

"Let them go!" he yelled, but Hermione slammed the door open and walked out, with the last bit of vengeful anger on her face.Jane heard a sob as the door slammed shut.

She ignored Ron who was pecked by the bird, but ran out after Hermione.

Jane chased Hermione all the way out of the castle, causing Jane who hadn't had time to wear a cloak to suffer a lot in the windy November. But Jane didn't give up on chasing, she chased Hermione all the way to the bushes by the Black Lake.

Hermione crouched under the bushes and sobbed. If she hadn't heard the faint sobbing, Jane would never have been able to find Hermione hiding in the shadow of the bushes.

She took out a handkerchief from her pocket, went to Hermione's side and knelt down, and cast a warming spell on the two of them so that they wouldn't catch a cold when they returned.

"I know you're sad, and I admit that Ron has gone too far." Jane reached out and patted Hermione on the shoulder to calm her down.

Hermione's face was buried in her hands, and the whole person curled up, leaving only a furry head outside.

Jane didn't say anything more, because she knew that what she said now would be better than letting Hermione cry once to vent her emotions. All she needs to do is actually sit here with her until she wants to speak. In fact, Jane still envied Hermione from the bottom of her heart, because she could at least cry, but in the face of Snape's heartlessness and ruthlessness, she found that she couldn't shed a single tear. Her tears seemed to have turned into blood and drained from the bottom of her heart, and it seemed that her bones and blood had been hollowed out. Apart from becoming emotionally numb, she found that she was the same as usual, unable to cry at all.But she is very clear that she is silently withering like a flower in the autumn wind.
