Chapter 4 Don't Go

Standing at the subway entrance, He Lin took the scarves off our heads, shook off the snow foam on them, and put them on again.

"Go back. Bye."

He Lin waved to me and turned around to leave.

I reached out and grabbed her scarf.

She looked at me suspiciously, then put on a flirtatious expression.

"Reluctant to let me go?"

I was thinking about what to say to explain my abrupt behavior, when I saw her expression, I also gave an ambiguous smile.

"Yes, girl, come back with me."

She smiled, then gently pulled the scarf out of my hand. "Go back, it's too late."

The voice was faint, following the frivolity of a second, it was like a different person.

"I'll take you to the bus station." I said boldly.

He Lin had to take a few bus stops to get home after getting out of the subway.

"Then I'll send you back." He Lin smiled helplessly, "What's the point of sending you back and forth like this?"

She reached out and stroked my hair, "Go back."

"Hmm." I nodded reluctantly.

My heart hurts.

"I'm leaving, bye."

This time, she turned away without even giving me a chance to say goodbye to her.

"Goodbye." I yelled, waving at her back.

She didn't turn around to look at me, she just waved back like that.

I stood still and looked at her shrinking back.

She didn't look back until she couldn't see it.

I resentfully went down to the subway.

Sitting in the carriage, recalling every word she said to me today.

This will be my food for thought for the week ahead.

I know I've left myself in the dust.

No dignity at all.

But I can't let go.

Even at the thought of letting go, there was a tearing pain in my heart.

So, I just wait for this relationship to slowly wither and die naturally.
