Chapter 2 3 Angle Relationships

The train was overcrowded, Harry walked all the way to look, and finally found an empty box that met Tom's requirements at the end of the train. He opened the door and walked in, finding a seat for himself.

Also thanks to Tom, he's not in a good mood right now.

Although Lily and James did not suggest that he go to Tom right away, they also admitted that wizards who use the same core wand are quite rare, and there are likely to be more, deeper, unknown bonds. Moreover, even if Tom is a Slytherin, he is still a Slytherin that the whole school likes, and he is completely different from Malfoy and his ilk.

All in all, Harry would rather be on good terms with Tom, maybe even better as a friend. But after experiencing what just happened, he couldn't help suspecting that this was just his own wishful thinking. However, he had never heard anyone speak ill of Tom, strange...

Just as Harry was thinking about it, the door of the box was opened silently, and someone quickly walked in.Harry stood up in shock, only to realize that it was Tom. "Why are you so fast?" The words blurted out, and he couldn't hide his surprise as he stared at the neat and meticulous clothes on the other party's body, "Aren't you going to deal with that..."

"Small problem, it has been resolved." Tom replied lightly, and turned around after confirming that the door had been closed. "It's your time and mine..." He looked Harry up and down. "Where's your wand?"

Harry guessed that the other party wanted to verify the truth for himself, and this distrust made him feel uncomfortable. But on the other hand, he could understand Tom's caution. So he took out his holly wand from his hip pocket, and slapped it hard into the tall boy's outstretched palm.

It might have been a touchy reaction, Tom raised an eyebrow at Harry. He said nothing, though, and waved his holly wand—

Hot sparks burst out from the tip of the stick, clearly illuminating the faces of the two.

Tom stared at the wand in his hand with deep eyes. For a split second, Harry felt like his face was about to snap it off.But before Harry could make a move to stop it, Tom gave him back the wand. "It seems that what you said is true."

Harry wasn't sure if he was delusional, but he carefully put away his holly wand. "What good will it do me to lie about it?"

Hearing the anger in it, Tom raised his eyebrows even higher. He re-observed Harry, and it didn't take long before the realization dawned on him. "You just want to get to know me."

Still a little annoyed, but Harry already had the embarrassment of being exposed, because it implied that Tom had indeed just mistook Harry for one of the suitors. "Yes," he admitted grumblingly, not without complaint, "but I guess there are too many people who want to know you."

Tom blinked, seemingly amused. "Probably," he responded, waving his hands casually, "so Professor Dumbledore told you this?"

Harry shook his head. "When I went shopping for a wand, Mr. Ollivander told me that the previous year someone had picked up a wand with the same core as mine. Mom and Dad had always wondered who that was, but until recently, they never I got the answer from Professor Dumbledore." At this point, he lowered his head in embarrassment, "I accidentally overheard their conversation... Later, I couldn't help asking."

Tom stared at the younger boy all the time, without blinking.

In fact, he already knew Harry. There were two Gryffindor boys whose parents were Aurors, and no one in the whole school knew.Compared with the good-tempered Neville Longbottom, Harry Potter is more likely to conflict with Slytherin in the same year, especially for his Muggle-born friend, Hermione Granger.

To be honest, Tom didn't care what the underclassmen did. After all, in his opinion, the conflict between Harry and Draco wasn't big enough to tear down the school. He was also averse to anything that came too close to Dumbledore, given that he hadn't been able to cover himself perfectly in front of the other party when they first met, and the Potters and Dumbledore were clearly on good terms. In the end, though he didn't know exactly what the core wand meant, he was sure it would only get him into trouble—

He hates being similar.

"I see." Tom nodded and stood up straight. "It's probably just an accident," he said calmly, with no expression on his face. "Let's just forget about it, Potter."

Harry stared at Tom dumbfounded, unable to believe how casually he was taking a serious and important fact.Until the other party's leaving figure completely disappeared from his field of vision, he still hasn't regained his senses——

It wasn't in any of the outcomes he envisioned: he was sure they hadn't met face-to-face before, and he was prepared for Tom not liking him; but why did the tall boy's attitude look more like he Draw a line and even avoid it a little bit?

The reason for this puzzled Harry. He sat for a while longer, trying to find even the slightest reason, but was still confused.Helpless, he had no choice but to get up, planning to go back to his box.But before that, he ran into Hermione; more precisely, Hermione blocked him outside the box door.

"I have a few questions for you!" The brunette girl approached him, her voice lowered, and she spoke extremely fast.

Harry thought she needed some urgent help, so he followed her to an unoccupied corner at the junction of the carriages. "What's the matter, Hermione?"

The girl's brown eyes were fixed on him. "I saw you and Riddle entered the same box," she bit her lower lip, as if worried, "you didn't say anything to him, did you?"

Harry froze for a while before reacting. "What do you think I'll tell him?" He couldn't help but laugh. "Those speculations about Parseltongue and the heir of Slytherin?"

"You didn't, did you?" Hermione asked immediately, her tense expression instantly relaxed.

"That's just some people's speculation, there's no evidence at all." Harry said, trying hard to get rid of possible suspicions on himself, "I'm looking for him for something else."

"Other things?" Hermione asked puzzledly, "What else do you have with him? No offense, I mean, Riddle is not in the same grade as us, so we basically don't run into each other usually, do we?"

Harry hadn't wanted to tell anyone else about the wand. But he was just too confused, and Hermione was the smartest friend he could have at school. So he told her the whole thing, and it was no surprise that the girl's expression became more and more shocked.

"How is that possible?" Hermione finally screamed, "I've never heard of such a thing, it's not written in the book—"

Harry hurried to appease the frantic girl. "I didn't know it before...it's so rare, I guess few books will be written."

Hermione managed to calm down a little. "As soon as I get back to school, I'll look for the materials," she said firmly, throwing her shaggy hair back. "We've got to figure this out."

That was the kind of development Harry wanted to see. "Thanks, Hermione," he said sincerely, taking the girl's hand and shaking it, "what would I do without you..."

Suddenly there was a slight coughing sound behind him. "I guess it's not a good place to whisper."

Hermione almost jumped up at the sound, and Harry's back went stiff. He turned his head slowly, and what he saw was Tom's face with a half-smile. "We don't..." He immediately wanted to explain, but he was too nervous to spit out complete sentences.

The tall boy raised his index finger to his lips. "Don't worry, I'm just passing by." He looked at Harry, then at Hermione - she had already withdrawn her hands like lightning and hid them behind her back - "You should go back to the box .This is a kind reminder that I am not the only one on duty."

He left, leaving Harry and Hermione to look at each other. The girl's face turned red and white, and her lips moved silently.Harry guessed that she might not be able to resist swearing, and was misunderstood by Tom because of their relationship-although Tom's reminder was very gentle and did not show a little bit of blame, but he knew that Hermione had always liked Tom. "I'm sorry, Hermione," he began to squirm, "I didn't see him…"

"No," Hermione cut him off immediately, covering her eyes in despair, "I told you to come here."

"Uh..." Harry hesitated, not knowing whether to continue to comfort Hermione, or to turn around and leave immediately. But soon, he remembered another thing. "Why did you disagree with Dean and Seamus before? What do you know?"

Hermione took several deep breaths before opening her fingers to look at him through the gaps. "You want to know too?"

"Yes," Harry nodded hesitantly, "but if you still don't think it's appropriate to say it, that's fine."

Hermione paused for a moment, then took her hand away. "Actually, that's not really a secret, it's just that Professor Slughorn doesn't want any negative impact on his favorite student." She was thinking, her eyes wandering on Harry's face, "In this regard, I agree Professor Slughorn's approach, but you may be different from everyone else..." She began to bite her lower lip, and looked around cautiously.

Harry quickly moved in, so that the iron plate of the carriage at the junction completely blocked his figure. "I promise not to tell, Hermione."

Hermione moved her feet accordingly, and now the two of them were squeezed face to face in the small space. But she didn't care at all, her round eyes were fixed on Harry worriedly. "I still don't know if I'm doing the right thing..." she said annoyed, her voice too low for Harry to hear, "Listen, I'll just say this once—Riddle was in Muggle Orphans was born in the hospital; he returns there every summer until now."

Although the explanation was brief, Harry's eyes widened.Everyone knows that Tom's parents are dead and his family is poor, but the Muggle orphanage...he understood why the person concerned never mentioned his family, and he also quickly understood why Hermione's objection came from: If Tom Riddle If he is really a descendant of Slytherin, it is unlikely that he grew up in the Muggle world; it is not even certain that Riddle's parents were Muggles.

"Then why did he get sorted into Slytherin?" Harry asked purely instinctively.

"I don't know," Hermione shook her head back, "I guess the Sorting Hat doesn't have the function of screening blood..." There was the sound of footsteps mixed with the clang of the railway tracks, and she immediately changed her topic: "We really have to go back .If caught, no one else has as much talk as Riddle."

Harry thought it was a wise decision to go back to the box, so he tiptoed and slipped out after her.But he couldn't help but refute Hermione's judgment about Tom Riddle in his mind—

That guy is tall, handsome, and excellent—after knowing his background, he wants to find a way to get in. Why does he have a higher starting point and his academic performance is far worse than his opponent——

But where is Tom talking?

Or to put it another way, Tom's attitude towards anyone is very good, and this is the performance of the other party's inherent rejection? If this is the case, does Tom's lack of interest in him mean that the other party actually hates him?
