Chapter 18 [Perception]

Corey doesn't like winter very much, he thinks the weather is cold and wet, and the sun is very thin.

He hates the days without sunlight.

But even when the sun was out, he couldn't feel the slight temperature at all.

He believes that the sun should be hot and dazzling, overlooking the earth with a majesty that people cannot look directly at.Even if people sweat all over from the sun, it is a symbol of vigorous vitality.

The smell of life force, the smell of the sun, Cory's favorite.

Corey lay lazily on the bench looking at the sky, surrounded by withered grass. Those short grasses protrude from the brown ground, stepping on them and stabbing the soles of people's feet.

Cory whistled sparsely.

He's bored right now and has nowhere to go.

The courtyard behind the house is generally unnoticed, and even if you see it through the window, you can see dense flowers and plants and low trees.

Corey stared at the gate in the distance, he was in a bad position, the roof blocked most of it, and Corey could only see the black rear of the car.It is the same beautiful color as Chester's car, with smooth curves, shining dimly in such a gloomy environment.

Corey looked up at the window, which was covered by gray-blue curtains, so he couldn't see inside. But even if he saw it, there was no one there.

At this time, everyone who could be useful gathered in the hall, and he was kicked out in disguise.Or he should use Chester's words to describe it, which will sound much better.Chester originally wanted him to stay in the room, and the general cabinet ministers would not be so bored to open the doors of all the rooms in his future son-in-law's house to see if there was anyone inside. But Cory didn't want to do that, he slipped out, it was better to lie outside in the cold wind than to stay in the room and listen to those rich people greeting each other.

But this is really ironic. The cabinet minister, Miss Katie's father, Mr. Rosen, must not have imagined that the man sitting opposite him at this moment with an elegant manner and a well-spoken manner has already hidden someone at home, and that man still wants to hide it all. .

Cory looked away and got up from his chair. He scratched his hair vigorously, and the puffy hair looked even more messy. He stood up and stretched, looking around to see if he was exposed.

The result, of course, was that he was overthinking, and Cory moved forward slowly, taking a walk in a limited range.

He swayed from side to side like a drunk drunk. There was no sound from the Omega monitor, and Corey walked away in peace.

Corey walked to the white fence, where there was a vermilion mailbox. Some paint has chipped away at the corners, revealing its silvery nature.Cory licked his lower lip, and he looked again. With no one around, Corey raised his hand and tapped on the mailbox with the monitor.

Again and again, the sound is not too loud.Corey looked up and saw that the monitor was intact, the green lines slicing across the surface and disappearing into the darkness.Corey suddenly raised his high hand to smash it down, but stopped in mid-air.

Corey turned his head and smiled at a guard standing behind him.

Corey remembered that the guard seemed to be named Topher.

The guard stood there and watched Corey, until Corey lowered his hand before bending down to salute Corey respectfully, then turned and left.Topher wore black leather shoes that made no sound on the grass.

Corey shrugged and continued wandering the courtyard.

At five o'clock in the afternoon, the sun disappeared, the wind blew coolly, and where Cory was--the back of the house--the shadows were thicker.Cory was lying on the recliner, looking from a distance, it seemed to be wrapped in darkness.

Behind him are clumps of flowers and plants, with leaves and petals moving back and forth with the wind.

Corey closed his eyes.

There was a sound of an engine, followed by footsteps, and the sound of the door being pulled open.Corey opened his eyes, the red taillights flashed, and he drove off into the distance. It left so quickly that it left nothing but blackness in Cory's eyes.

Cory smiled and silently waved to the car going away.

Corey stretched again when he got up. He must admit that the recliner is not as comfortable as the bed, and it also makes the back hurt after lying down for a long time.Corey walked out of the lawn, it was getting dark quickly in winter, everything around was shrouded in darkness, and the water in the swimming pool was ringing again. There were no lights, not even a stray light by the side of the road.

There are many ghosts, eerie and weird, and any such words can not be overstated.

Corey walked slowly, feeling so tired that every flight of stairs seemed to consume his life.He now desperately wants to lie in bed and ask Sani to bring him something.

The kind and gentle Sani would never refuse his little request.

Corey turned the doorknob of the main room, and white light rushed out, stabbing Corey in the eye.

The conversation in the hall stopped abruptly.

Everyone turned to look at the door.

It was a weird sight, Corey thought. He half-closed his eyes, suddenly exposed to such a strong light made him very uncomfortable.

Cory looked up, even though his eyes were still hurting. His gaze flicked over Miss Kitty and Mr. Rosen on the sofa, Sani standing aside, and finally stopped at Chester's stern face sitting on the other side of the sofa.Corey didn't know what his expression was like, maybe it was a smile.

Corey thought to himself, it's not his fault that he's doing this now.

There are gorgeous chandeliers on the high ceiling, several precious oil paintings on the white walls, a fireplace that has been wiped clean, soft fabric sofas, and long brown tables.

On the long table were two cups of coffee and a cup of black tea, in white cups with gold rims.In the middle of the cup was a basket full of fruits, a perfectly baked Black Forest cake, a white plate, and shiny silver knives and forks.

It was a very small and humble family gathering, but it was peaceful and warm.

The soon-to-be family gathers, chats casually, and occasionally laughs. The coffee is mellow and rich, and the black tea is fragrant and sweet. This is a very beautiful picture.

But now this peaceful environment has been broken.

With his hand still on the doorknob, Corey burst into the field with the winter chill. The cold wind ruffled his hair, and the great darkness moved in through the open door.

Corey blinked, leaned forward suddenly and shouted, "Mr. Sewell! Is Mr. Sewell at home? Here's your letter!"

He changed so fast, before everyone could react. But this brings an advantage, such a head start will often guide people and make them follow his train of thought one-sidedly.

Corey turned sideways, reached into his pocket and pulled out the hat he had tucked into it earlier. With a quick flick, he pushed his crumpled hat back on his head in an attempt to disguise himself as a messenger.

Maybe he should be thankful for the previous boring behavior.

Hats can cover a lot of things.

"Oh, look, who is this kid? How could he be so bold! How did the guard let him in?" Mr. Rosen looked at Corey suspiciously.

Chester turned his gaze back and said in a low voice, "This was my negligence, I'm sorry."

Mr. Rosen laughed, he was really optimistic about the future son-in-law in front of him.Chester is cautious and noble, and he will never do anything superfluous, knowing that time is precious to them.

Mr. Rosen calmed down, he turned his head, and conveyed this smile to Corey: "Oh boy, I am sorry to tell you that this is Williams's house, obviously you are not a qualified messenger Party member, you even got the address of the believer wrong."

"I'm so sorry, sir." Corey lowered his hat, "I feel guilty for interrupting you so abruptly, and I'm here to ask for your forgiveness."

Corey bowed and saluted them.

"Look at this poor little guy, work is a magic weapon for you to survive in this society, you have to respect it." Mr. Rosen looked at Chester, "Chester, what do you think?"

Chester said, "Let him go to that Mr. Savy."

Mr. Rosen nodded in satisfaction, and Chester turned to call Sani.

Corey stepped back facing the hall step by step. In order for Sani to come out smoothly, he opened the door slightly wider.

The wind blew in unscrupulously, and Sani's purple skirt swayed with the wind.

"Wait a moment."

Corey paused.
