Today is my big day.

I looked out the window through the golden sunlight, and there were a few sparrows on the branches next to the tree house, chirping and wishing me a happy birthday.

"Thank you! Thank you very much!" I opened the window and shouted at them, and they flew away in a startled rustle.

"Kelly! Stop yelling in the morning!" Mom growled over my voice, and I quickly closed the window because I saw Ed, the neighbor across the way, making faces at me.

Today is my 11th birthday and the big day I have been waiting for 11 years!I can finally ditch my kid's wand and buy a wand that's really mine!

And... today I will also receive an admission letter from the magic school.

From the moment I was consciously aware, Mom and Dad kept talking to me about how good their magic school was, how interesting, how joyful they were.

Since I was 4 years old, I have been looking forward to going to the Hogwarts astronomy building to look at the stars, and to go to the Hall of Magic and Magic in Ilvermorny to accept the school choice (my father refused to mention the Hogwarts sorting process).

And I finally reached the age of 11, and I can finally enter the school to meet new classmates and learn new magic!

"You can't go to two schools at the same time, honey," said Ma, spreading pate on the bread.

Dad glanced at the greasy pate, turned to me with a jar of jam and said, "Your mother was right, Kelly. You have to go to Hogwarts."

oh!Bye now!The Enchanted Halls of Ilvermorny!Beautiful school uniforms in blue and berry shades!

"That's not certain." Mom narrowed her eyes. "Maybe she'll get a letter from Ilvermorny."

"Of course, honey! If it happens, let's talk about it." Dad smiled broadly, but I could tell he didn't want to talk about it at all.

Although they come from different magic schools, the relationship between the two is still very good, but occasionally they argue a little more about which school is the best magic school in the world.

Because I was born in London, it seems that I was written on the Hogwarts invitation letter as a matter of course, and I followed my father's footsteps honestly.

"You'll be a good Ravenclaw!" Dad said proudly. He was once a Ravenclaw and a prefect.

"I don't know," I said, "maybe I'll be sorted into another house."

Mom nodded approvingly: "Yes, Kelly is a very lively little girl. If she is in Ilvermorny, she will definitely be selected by Thunderbird!"

"It's like that... that... in Hogwarts..." Mom turned to Dad for help.

Dad sighed and replied reluctantly, "... Gryffindor."

I was eating fried eggs with bacon, and I didn't really understand the psychology of comparison between adults.

"Boom, boom, boom." With the sound of knocking on the window, Dad suddenly stood up from the dining chair. Facing the eyes of my mother and me, he gave a dry cough in embarrassment.

"Hey, I'm going to get the letter." After finishing speaking, he left in a hurry.

I glanced at the messy cut bacon and fried eggs on my father's desk, and my mother whispered to me, "Your father really cares about your schooling."

I nodded, my father is usually a very calm adult, even I would not yell easily when I drew on his report.

And today?Dad started cheering as soon as he got the letter from the owl. He happily read out the items on the list that needed to be bought, and kept urging me to finish breakfast as soon as possible.

I quickly finished the remaining fried eggs, drank the milk in one gulp, and jumped excitedly on the dining chair to compete with him for the page of letter.

"Let me see! Let me see!" After I read the contents of the notice and the purchase list, my father had come down from the upstairs fully dressed. He was wearing a rare dark wizard robe, holding A pack of floo powder.

Mom is directing the plates and bowls to clean themselves. She won't follow us today because she has to go shopping with the wife next door, but she still pays attention to kissing the high-spirited dad and asking him to take good care of me today.

I let out a loud retching noise on purpose, and ran back to the room, putting on the blue dress and sequined Muggle shoes that my father bought me.While combing my hair, I saw the blue and raspberry headband my mother bought me, and after a second I tied it in my ponytail.

Sure enough, when I slid down the banister, instead of yelling at me as usual, my mother smiled at my headband, bent down and hugged me, and kissed me hard.

"Time to go, Kelly!" Dad grabbed me a handful of Floo powder, bent first into the fireplace, said "Diagon Alley!" and disappeared into the green smoke.

It's not my first time going to Diagon Alley, but this time I'm still a little nervous.Encouraged by my mother, I worked up the courage to walk into the fireplace with the Floo powder in my hand, shouting "Diagon Alley!" and sprinkle the powder.

In the green smog, I heard my mother muttering: "...the letter again?..."

As soon as I emerged from the communal fire, my father took me into his arms.I was led out of the common hearth by him, and I noticed that he breathed a sigh of relief when he came out.

Today's Diagon Alley is very lively, many people bring their children to buy supplies for the new semester. There were some people crowded in front of every shop, and the Quidditch boutique had the most people, and there were bursts of discussions.

"Okay...let me see." Dad took a breath, looked down at the list in his hand, "What do you want to buy first?"

"Wand! Let's go buy a wand first, Dad!" I couldn't wait to say, if he hadn't held me tightly by the collar, I would have gone into the crowd to find a wand shop.

But it was better to run through the crowd under the protection of my father than to run by myself. And he was taller, so he could easily see the exact location of Ollivander's wand shop.

"Dad, I'll just go in by myself." Through the dusty glass window, I saw a boy buying a wand inside, who seemed to be a freshman.

I wanted to develop friendships with new classmates on my own, because every previous friendship I had had my dad interfere and investigate. And Ed, my longest friend, survived because he was a neighbor's kid.

"Please, Dad," I begged, "can you buy me a pewter pot and a brass scale first?"

Dad sighed, nodded in agreement, and told me to wait for him at Mrs. Malkin's gown shop after I bought the wand. After I finished speaking, I pushed him a few times impatiently before he turned around and squeezed into the crowd.

I cleared my throat and entered the door with the jingling bell.

The shop itself was small, not to mention that the only bench had a very tall man sitting on it, watching seriously the dark-haired boy trying on his wand.I watched as Mr. Ollivander kept taking the wand out of his hand and replacing it with a completely different one; then being removed again and replacing it with another.

It got me wondering how much longer it would take him.

"Excuse me," I said, walking up to the tall, big adult, "may I sit next to you?"

"Oh! Please sit down, please sit down." He seemed to have just noticed me, said in a low voice, stood up again and carefully sat down a little.

I propped myself up on the edge of the bench, dangling my legs and watching the dark-haired boy try his wand.In the next second, he finally found his own wand. He raised the wand high, red light flashed on the top of the wand, and golden light burst out, projecting on the wall, which was very beautiful.

I clapped with the giant next to me, and he and Ollivander started cheering, congratulating the boy, and Ollivander started a conversation with the boy in a long, hoarse voice, and I noticed he called the boy "Mr Potter" .This surname sounds familiar, I always feel that I seem to have heard my father mention him, maybe it is a child of a friend of my father?

"Hello!" After they finished talking, I greeted him enthusiastically, "Are you a freshman at Hogwarts?"

"Yes." He answered nervously, and handed the Gallon in his hand to Mr. Ollivander.

"My name is Kelly Morris." I stared eagerly at the wand in his hand, "I'm also here to buy a wand. Congratulations on finding the wand that suits you best."

"Thank you." He turned to look at me, less nervous, "I...my name is Harry."

"Hello, Harry. Are you done shopping for your enrollment list? Do you want to go to Florin's Ice Cream for a while?" I invited, and I would love to use my pocket money to treat my new friend to eat ice cream.

"Maybe." He looked at the tall man, and answered me with pursed lips, "Hagrid, can we sit there?"

"Of course, Harry! It's always good to make some new friends before school starts," said Hagrid, laughing, and even when he was chuckling, I thought I heard a rumbling train.

So I waved goodbye to them, and agreed to meet at Florin's Cold Drink Shop later, and then I greeted Mr. Ollivander who was sorting the drawers next to me.

"Hello, Mr. Ollivander!" I jumped up and approached the counter, "Please help me pick out a wand."

"Of course, of course, Miss Morris." Mr. Ollivander still spoke to me in his soft tone. While chatting with me, he took out a beautiful wand from the high drawer, "I remember you The day my father came to buy the wand, it was nine and a quarter inches long, and a fine wand of European oak."

I remember Dad's wand, which was a bit thick for me, and he made a special wand case for this wand, which hung on the edge of his pants.

I took the wand from Mr. Ollivander. This wand has a smooth and beautiful appearance. It is made of some kind of wood and emits a faint light. After I waved it lightly, although the wand responded a little, it was not very obvious.

"It doesn't look like this one," Mr. Ollivander said, and took the wand out of my hand, and replaced it with a longer one.

"Try this one. Red oak, and unicorn hair, ten and three-quarters long, um, a little springy."

My eyes seemed to be glued to this magic wand. Although it was not as smooth as the first one, it seemed to grab my heart. I held it nervously and waved it lightly. The bright light red Light leaked from the top, lighting up the wand shop with golden threads of light.

"Wow!" I exclaimed, I can feel the inside of the wand and my sense of harmony, in other words, I have found the wand that fits me best!
