Talking tablemates chase after me

Chapter 31 New Year's Eve

Ding Jinyu entered the room and greeted the elders, but his sister still hung around his neck and refused to let go. Mingxi went to help in the kitchen, so he could only stay in the living room and take care of the children.

He picked up a random storybook on the sofa, and with a few words, the little girl giggled happily; Grandma Ming watched lovingly from the side, grabbing candy for Ding Jinyu, and pocketing him again Rise nuts.

The meals came to the table quickly, and they were all the most homely dishes. They were so piled up that the small folding table couldn't fit them, and they were stacked on top of each other.

They really seem to be a family that has lived together for more than ten years, eating together, messing around together, and complaining about the increasingly ugly Spring Festival Gala, but no one changed the channel.

Everything during the dinner was incongruously harmonious.

Ming's father drank two glasses at the table, and collapsed on the sofa after the meal. His younger sister disliked his taste, so she nestled in grandma's arms all the time. Ming Xi and Ding Jinyu were left to clean up the kitchen and the living room.

Ding Jinyu's housework skills are basically limited to sweeping the floor and cleaning the table. While he is not proficient in working, he is ridiculed by Mingxi who passes by from time to time, saying "not virtuous".

The younger sister hid in her grandma's arms and covered her mouth and smiled; the grandma told Mingxi not to bully Ding Jinyu, and made a gesture to hit him with the crutch at hand, but he twisted his back and hid while turning his head to make faces, which made the whole family laugh.

There were countless moments when Ding Jinyu really thought he had gone home.

The noisy and cheerful atmosphere continued until the two of them cleaned up the stalls for the New Year's Eve dinner one after another.

Grandma Ming had already gone back to her room to rest, and Ming Xi wanted to take Ming Mei to sleep, so Ding Jinyu also greeted Ming's father and prepared to say goodbye; but before Ming's father could speak, Ming Mei heard Ding Jinyu's voice and broke away from Ming Xi's hand. Dianpidian ran to his side and hugged his thigh.

"Sister." Ming Xi pretended to be serious and said, "It's 10:30, it's time to go to bed, you shouldn't drag Brother Jasmine to play tricks."

"But as soon as I opened my eyes, brother Jasmine was gone, right? And..." Mingmei pouted aggrievedly, "Brother...to celebrate the new year..."

Ming Xi looked at Ding Jinyu apologetically, walked up to him and hugged his younger sister who was holding on to him, "But children shouldn't sleep too late during the Chinese New Year."

"What about you?" Ming Mei, who was forcibly pulled away from Ding Jinyu's side, was obviously a little unconvinced, and stubbornly raised her chin, "Aren't you going to hang out with Brother Zhou Hao after I'm asleep?"

"Obviously before..." she said and buried her face in Ming Xi's arms sadly, "You two are going to take me with you..."

Before Mingmei's eye was injured, Mingxi was only a junior high school student. After dinner, his parents and grandma would clean up the dishes. He would take his younger sister to the streets to find Zhou Hao, set off fireworks and have fun together.

After that year, he would coax Ming Mei to bed early every New Year, firstly because he was worried that it would be unsafe to go to the streets, and secondly because he was afraid that his sister would feel sad when she heard the sound of firecrackers on the street but could not see her favorite fireworks.

It's just that in the past few years Zhou Hao was afraid that he would feel uncomfortable alone. After the family reunion dinner at home, he would come to him when he put his sister to sleep, and the two of them went out for a walk.

During the recent winter vacation, he had to go to work in a small restaurant every day, and sometimes he was too busy to ask Zhou Hao to come to the house to watch over him. I think my sister spent a lot of time with Zhou Hao recently, so I don't know when he asked.

Ming Xi was momentarily rendered speechless by the little girl's words, and stood in the living room in a daze, looking in his father's direction for help, but Ming's father was still drunk, leaning on the sofa as if he had fallen asleep .

"Sister—" Ding Jinyu leaned over and poked Mingmei's little face at some point, "Want to go out to play?"

The younger sister nodded seriously, and stretched out her hand in Ding Jinyu's direction.

"Ding Jinyu..." Ming Xi looked at his tablemate in surprise.

"Then we've agreed—" Ding Jinyu ignored Ming Xi, reached out and took the little girl into his arms, "Go out and listen to your brother, don't lose your temper."

He pulled Ming Mei's little finger, "pull the hook."

"Aren't you going home?" Ming Xi tugged at the corner of Ding Jinyu's coat.

"My sister has such a beautiful little dress, and I want to go out to be envied by others!" Ding Jinyu made Mingmei in her arms giggle, and turned her head to smile at Mingxi, "Tell uncle, there are two people watching it." Come on, it's all right."

"Two..." Ming Xi looked at Ding Jinyu's smile, felt his eyes watering, and repeated Ding Jinyu's words in a low voice, "Two people..."

A semester has passed, and he seldom sees him laughing at the same table, so he is so pretty.

Ding Jinyu had already put on a small coat for his younger sister, and went out with someone in his arms; he found a pen and paper to leave a note for his father, and hurriedly ran after her.

On the street, Ding Jinyu was picking things in front of a temporary stall selling fireworks and firecrackers. Mingxi took the younger sister in his arms, and saw the little girl tugging at her little skirt.

"What's wrong?" he asked quietly.

Mingmei bit her lips reluctantly, "You keep hugging me, who can still see my little skirt?"

Ding Jinyu came back with her things, and just heard this sentence, and was amused by this stinky little girl.

No wonder Ming Mei kept pulling Ming Xi’s little skirt on the day of the school anniversary. He just jokingly mentioned that his sister’s little skirt is beautiful before going out. by age.

He looked at Ming Xi who was also dimpled out of laughter, the two smiled at each other and nodded.

Ming Xi put her younger sister on the ground, and the two held the little girl's hand, one on the left and the other on the right.

Three pairs of footprints stepped side by side on the red paper scraps all over the ground after the firecrackers were set off, and the little girl in the middle was bouncing around, talking and laughing, really looking like the "family of three" that Cheng Keke said.
