Chapter 2 Malfoy's Suspicion

"Yes, I think Principal McGonagall is looking for me, thank you for your hospitality." Snape nodded politely when he saw Narcissa walking towards him.

"It's a pity, by the way, take all of these." When Narcissa handed Snape a leather bag of desserts, the corners of Snape's mouth couldn't help twitching.

"No... I still won't take it..."

Narcissa gave him a strange look.

"You will take them away every time you come. Could it be that what I made this time is not delicious?"

Snape stopped talking, he could only put the dessert into the space-time bag that Draco gave him, maybe the tantrum kid would not be able to resist the temptation of this thing to come out by himself.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome, Harry. Draco didn't come out to see off the guests. What happened to his etiquette?"

"I think he needs to think about something." Snape said kindly. "Or you should ask about Draco's education."

After Snape finished speaking, he walked out of the back room, leaving Narcissa standing there with a puzzled expression.

"Mr. Malfoy."

Seeing that Lucius was still sitting on the rocking chair in the yard, Snape couldn't help raising his eyebrows. Who would have imagined that a person who valued rights in his youth would live a very... leisurely life in his old age?

"Mr. Potter." Lucius opened his eyes and looked at Snape. "I thought Sissy would keep you for dinner."

"Actually she did," Snape said in a "Harry Potter" tone. "But I have business tonight."

"I don't think it's a personal matter?"

"As you think."

Lucius tapped the ground with his cane and glanced at Snape who was standing.

"You're more Slytherin than I thought, what changes a Gryffindor?"

"Sorry?"

"Your etiquette is impeccable, at least this time." Most of the reasons why Lucius disdains the Savior is also because of Gryffindor's recklessness.

"Maybe it's because of being the head of Slytherin, thank you for your appreciation."

"If I knew that Mr. Potter would change so much after accepting the invitation to teach at Hogwarts, I think I should promise Scorpius to be your godson."

"Maybe you're right." Snape couldn't help but think of the conversation with Draco just now, no matter what the other said was tentative or true. "Scorpius shouldn't have a Gryffindor-born godfather. No matter what happens in the future, the essence of Gryffindor will not change."

Lucius unexpectedly eased his expression and nodded.

"Thank you very much for Mr. Porter's understanding."

"Then it's getting late, I should go."

"I won't give it away, Mr. Potter."

Snape nodded, and Apparated at the door of the Malfoy compound.
