[HP] Riddle's Spirit Behind
Chapter 097 Scary Tom
On the first Friday night after Christmas, a dozen Slytherin students gathered in the abandoned classroom again.
They call themselves "Death Eaters".The title has spread to a small extent within Slytherin House, and the professors are still ignorant of it.
This evening was the time for their assembly.
Tom Riddle, as the only leader of this group of students, sat in the most prominent position. He looks much different than he did half a year ago.
His hair has grown a lot, and his bangs are a little messy covering his forehead; a pair of dark eyes have become deeper, revealing a more elusive deep gaze. These make him look more mature and attractive.
The students below sat quietly waiting for him to speak, just like a group of students waiting for the professor to teach-you know, most of them did not behave like this when they were actually in class.
Two young girls who had just joined the group were staring at Tom with admiration and longing.
Tom, on the other hand, was caressing the tip of his wand absently, his eyes fixed on a point ahead.
"Do you have any new plans, Tom?" a boy couldn't help asking.
"The OWLs are my new plan, Aiden." Tom said calmly, "I plan to concentrate on preparing for the exams in the next few months, and I recommend that all fifth graders do the same."
"I thought you didn't have to worry about the exam for a long time." Aiden said with a shrug. "Actually, the OWLs exam is much easier than you think, and it doesn't take so much time to review. We should spend more time studying and researching." Something new."
"That's your illusion, Aiden," Tom replied dryly, "I remember you only got an 'O' in your OWLs? If I had gotten such a bad grade, I'd be ashamed to dig a hole in the ground Get in there instead of bragging about how easy the test is."
Aiden blushed instantly.Although he had not been in the group for a short time, he was the oldest boy among the students present. He didn't want to lose face among a group of kids younger than himself.
So he retorted: "Come on, everyone knows that OWLs are useless at all. They don't test a person's true level. Any guy who likes to read books can give a perfect score. Am I right, Sarah Muir?"
The boy whose name was called did not speak, but moved his butt awkwardly.
"According to me, you should spend more time studying the new plan instead of wasting time on some exams." Aiden said to Tom aggressively, "We've learned a lot of powerful spells, but no one can There is no chance to practice. Those spells are not used for fireworks display, they are used to deal with the enemy." He said, turning his head to look at the others, "Don't tell me you don't want to try those spells at all .”
Several students murmured agreement.
"Yes, that's it." Aiden said with a smile, "Tom, do you remember? Last week, a Gryffindor second year dared to contradict you in public, and you are a Slytherin prefect. Time to give those restless guys a warning, no?"
Some students started to riot, most of them hated Gryffindor students very much and wanted to teach them a lesson long ago.
"Our purpose is not to rule Hogwarts, Aiden. And doing so will only make the professors aware of what we are doing." Tom said blankly, "From now on, I suggest you shut down Open your mouth to clear your mind."
Aiden glared at Tom not to be outdone, and blurted out: "We don't need a weak guy to be a leader."
As soon as his words fell, the classroom immediately fell into a terrible silence.
"Are you saying I'm weak, Aiden?" Tom whispered. "You mean I'm...not qualified?"
Aiden glared at Tom indignantly. "I wouldn't dare." But his expression said otherwise.
Tom stared at him, and a smile suddenly formed on the corner of his mouth.
Cloris Parkinson, who was sitting in an inconspicuous position, shrank back subconsciously. This was her fifth Death Eater meeting, and she'd already wanted to quit.
She looked at Tom over Aiden's shoulder ahead.During this period of time, she clearly felt the change in Tom.
The others probably didn't notice anything, but the sensitive Cloures did.
Simply put - Tom is becoming less and less like a normal teenage boy, or rather, less and less of a normal person.
He became more suspicious, more aggressive, and more controlling. Before, he'd only called them friends at rallies, and he'd never claimed to be their leader. Now, he no longer objected to such a title, and began to allow no one to question his authority.
Intuition made Cloures terrified of such a Tom.She always felt that sooner or later he was going to make some dangerous move.
Cloris' premonition soon became reality.
The next day, Aiden was found unconscious in a stall in the men's bathroom, covered in pustules, as if hit by several jinxes at once.
The most serious problem was that his tongue was stuck firmly to the cavity of his teeth by a powerful spell, and it was swollen to twice its size.
The therapists tried many ways but couldn't get his tongue back to its original shape. They say it evolved from an ancient form of black magic, used by wizards of old to render their enemies speechless forever.
Cloris was there too.She watched Aiden being carried out of the bathroom with a pale face, and then inadvertently saw the black hair passing by in the crowd.
Only Tom had the guts and ability to do such a thing, Cloris couldn't help thinking. And all because Aiden contradicted something he said at the rally.
So she finally made up her mind to draw a line with Tom and the others. The next night, she asked Tom to quit.
"Why do you suddenly want to quit, Cloris?" Tom asked lazily leaning on the sofa, "I remember you wanted to join us very much."
"Because I want to spend more time studying." Cloris immediately said the reason he had thought before, "My OWLs test scores are very bad, so I want to review the course before the seventh grade."
"Then you shouldn't quit," Tom said with a smile. "Don't forget, we're a study group, remember?"
"but……"
"I don't want to hear any excuses." Tom interrupted her, the smile on his face not disappearing, but it made Crowley shudder secretly.
He stared at Cloris firmly, "Tell me the truth, what made you want to quit?"
Cloris took a deep breath, "There is no particular reason, as I said just now, I am here for review..."
Tom interrupted her again coldly, "I said it - I don't want to hear any excuses." He raised his hand and leaned on his chin, turned his head to look at Cloris, and suddenly another indifferent smile appeared on the corner of his mouth , "You're scared, aren't you, Cloures?"
"No." Cloris replied quickly.
"You're just afraid," Tom said softly. "Tell me, what are you afraid of? Afraid of being discovered by the professor, or afraid of what you've learned? Or... afraid of me?"
Cloris felt his heart constrict.
"Oh, I see." The curve of Tom's mouth became more obvious. "You're afraid of me. That's an interesting discovery. May I ask why?"
Cloris and Tom looked at each other, and suddenly had the illusion of being deeply seen through.
No, he was no different than anyone else, just a teenager.Cloris said to himself.
So she mustered up her courage, raised her chin slightly and pretended to be calm and said, "Well, I'll be honest, Tom. I'm not afraid of you, I'm just worried about you."
"Worried about me?" Tom raised his eyebrows.
Cloris looked around and said in a low voice, "Aiden Andrews—is that what you did to him?"
Sure enough, Tom didn't admit it right away, but asked calmly, "Why do you think so?"
"I'm just guessing," said Cloris.
Tom just sneered and made no comment.
"Why did you do that, Tom?" Cloures whispered through clenched teeth. "Is it because of what he said at the rally?"
"So that's why you're quitting? You're afraid that one day you'll be like him too, aren't you?" Tom countered.
Cloris pursed her lips tightly and did not answer.
"I wouldn't do that to my friend." Tom smiled indifferently, emphasizing the word friend.
"So, you don't agree with my withdrawal?" Cloris asked bluntly.
"Stop asking such stupid questions, you know it's impossible," Tom said with a smile, then lowered his head and continued to flip through the book. "See you later, Cloris."
"Why, Tom?" Cloures stared at Tom and squeezed the words through his teeth, "I've known you for a long time, but I don't recognize you now - why are you like this? "
"What?" Tom looked up with a slightly confused expression.
"You know what I mean," said Cloures finally, "you weren't like that. Now you're like a—a tyrant, a j****er. It looks like you're trying to Control those people, don't allow them to do things you don't like, don't allow them to quit, don't allow them to have different opinions, they are not your friends at all... I am afraid of you now, Tom."
Cloris spoke incoherently, and at last she paused for breath, biting her lip, waiting for Tom's reaction.
As she spoke, Tom's expression remained calm.
"You're crazy, Cloures," he said dryly. "Listen to yourself."
"No, I'm not crazy." Cloris shook her head violently, she stared at Tom's face, and suddenly a thought flashed through her mind.So she whispered, "Since she's gone, you've become less and less of yourself."
This sentence instantly disintegrated Tom's calm expression.
"Shut up," he said harshly.
Then he seemed to realize his unnaturalness. So he took a deep breath through his nose, and at the same time raised his legs impatiently.
"I knew it." Cloris stared closely at Tom's expression, "I knew it had something to do with her. You've been acting weird since Eleanor left—"
Tom jumped up from his chair.
"I said shut up," he said grimly. "Do you have to be so stupid, Miss Parkinson? If you want to quit, then quit. I don't want to see you at any future meetings. "
Cloris watched Tom's back and heaved a sigh of relief.
She thought it was finally over.
But just a few days later, someone posted the love letter to Mr. Martin that she had hidden in the diary on the bulletin board.
"Don't tell me you don't care about that letter. Almost everyone is talking about that right now," she said hoarsely to Avery. He was now the only one still willing to talk to her.
Avery sighed, "Don't say that, Cloures. I thought I was in love with my best friend too. It wasn't until she left that I slowly realized that wasn't the case. Who You haven't done anything stupid, have you?"
"You really think so?" Cloris looked up at Avery with red eyes.
"Of course." Avery replied.
Cloris turned his head away, and after a long silence, he whispered a thank you. Then she rested her head lightly on Avery's shoulder and began to sob softly.
Avery stiffened immediately, but he didn't push him away.
The two sat quietly by the lake like this, and did not return to the castle until after sunset.
In the end, with Avery's help, Cloris finally discovered that it was the "Death Eaters" who were doing these things behind the scenes. If they had spread the rumor about her, it was likely that they had stolen the letter as well.
Obviously, they want to punish people who drop out.Because they did something similar to another boy who quit — they wrote an anonymous letter to the boy's parents saying his son had done a lot of bad things at school.Turns out the boy got a 10-minute yelling letter.
"Tom is the culprit of all this. He must have encouraged those people to do this." Cloris said to Avery through gritted teeth. "He has become hopeless, Avery."
"I don't know, Cloris." Avery said hesitantly, "You said that all this may be related to Eleanor's departure, so maybe we can do something."
"Oh, God, that's just a stupid assumption," sighed Cloures. "I don't think Tom really cares about Eleanor. He only cares about himself now."
"But Tom used to be like that, wasn't he?" said Avery, frowning. "He's never been a warm-hearted guy."
"I can't tell." Cloris sighed again, "Well, maybe you're right." She was silent for a moment, "Eleanor asked me about Tom last Christmas, I don't know how to answer. But I'm going to tell her now what Tom is doing."
Avery was a little surprised and said, "Why?"
Cloris frowned at Avery, secretly lamenting the boy's clumsiness.
"Don't be stupid, Avery," said Cloures, raising his chin. "She's entitled to know all this—because it's obvious that silly girl still loves Tom."
The author has something to say: I was too sleepy to write for a long time...
So this happened...
When I was halfway through writing, I suddenly realized that I had written such a line.
