[HP] Riddle's Spirit Behind

Chapter 014 Tom's Revenge

With a dull crash, Avery fell headfirst onto the plate in front of him.

"What happened?" Eleanor said in surprise. "What are you doing, Avery?"

Avery kept lying on the table without moving.

Tom frowned and poked Avery's shoulder with the fork in his hand, "He seems to have passed out."

Flint couldn't help a sneer. This caused Eleanor to cast a questioning look at him.

Probably noticing Eleanor's gaze, Flint coughed lightly, got up and left the long table calmly.

Subsequently, Avery was carried to the school hospital by several other boys. This caused him to miss all the classes in the afternoon.

Soon, Eleanor learned from the comments of other students that Avery had accidentally taken a potion called Sleep Potion. This potion was banned many years ago because it can cause mild damage to the human brain.

Fortunately, Avery accidentally took a small dose of the medicine.Mr. Martin from the school hospital gave him the antidote in time, which completely neutralized the toxicity of the drowsiness potion, so there is no need to worry about his brain problems for the time being.

"We should visit him." Eleanor suggested to Tom after herbal medicine get out of class in the afternoon.

But Tom immediately refused. He said impatiently, "What good does that do me?"

"Benefits?" cried Elinor, as if Tom had just said something very unbelievable. "God, I've seen that before, and you're really—strange. Do you need a reason for visiting a friend?" "

"I think you've got one thing wrong," said Tom dryly. "I've never been friends with him. I'm under no obligation to care about him."

Eleanor sighed, she was silent for a while before she said: "Well, I know you don't consider him a friend, but don't you want to know why he suddenly fell into a coma?"

Tom glanced at her and seemed to understand Eleanor's meaning. "Well, what do you want to tell me?"

"Do you remember what he ate before he passed out?" Eleanor said.

Tom frowned. "It's pumpkin pie. You mean—"

"Yes," said Eleanor, "someone must have put that potion in the pumpkin pie."

"But if it was really in the pumpkin pie, why didn't the others pass out?" said Tom at once. "Is he the only one who ate the plate of pumpkin pie?"

Eleanor nodded slightly, "That's the problem. If I remember correctly, there was no plate of pumpkin pie on the table at first."

"You mean it was put on it later?" Tom frowned and recalled, at this moment, his eyes suddenly opened slightly, "it was Flint sitting opposite. He seemed to have touched the pumpkin pie box plate."

"Are you sure?" Eleanor asked.

"I don't remember very well," said Tom dryly. "I don't have time to watch what other people are doing."

"Actually, I think he did it." Eleanor said suddenly.

"Why do you say that?" Tom raised an eyebrow.

Eleanor shrugged, "That's all I think. But trust me, my intuition has always been accurate. I just don't understand why he would do this."

Tom suddenly sneered, "I know that. His target is not Eleanor. If I'm not wrong, it's me he wants to take revenge on."

"But we didn't do anything to him! We didn't even tell the professor what happened last time. I think he should thank us instead of revenge." Eleanor frowned.

Tom stared at Eleanor for a few seconds, and suddenly chuckled without emotion, "To be honest, I think your thinking is very peculiar. Obviously, he felt that the incident last time had frustrated his self-esteem. If it is me, I am afraid I will want revenge."

"No, you won't." Eleanor said in surprise, "You are not like him."

"Yes, we are different." Tom said lightly, and at the same time a mocking smile appeared on the corner of his mouth, "If it were me, I wouldn't use such a stupid way to retaliate."

Eleanor couldn't help asking: "Then what method will you use?"

"I'll make him completely regret what he's done." Tom said blankly, then closed his textbooks, got up and left the library.

That afternoon, Tom cornered Flint, who was alone, in the common room.

"You did it, didn't you?" he asked coldly, straight to the point.

Flint had a flash of panic and said with a dry smile, "What are you talking about?"

"Sleeping potion," said Tom.

Flint replied immediately, "I don't understand what you mean." He sneered, "Do you think I poisoned the pumpkin pie?"

"Ha, pumpkin pie." Eleanor grinned and said, "Did anyone mention pumpkin pie?"

Flint blushed suddenly with embarrassment, "Go away, I'm going to class." He muttered and left the common room in a hurry.

"That's right." Eleanor said, "What are you going to do?"

Tom didn't answer, a strange smile crept slowly across his face.

In the middle of the night, there was a sudden scream in Flint's bedroom.

The awakened students came out of the dormitory, yawning. Then they saw Flint stumbling out the door clutching his right arm.

He repeated a single word aloud indistinctly, and it sounded like "Snake! Snake!".He hadn't run far before he fell to the ground.

The next day, almost everyone knew that someone in Slytherin House had been bitten by a poisonous snake.

It is said that he was bitten by a poisonous snake that lived in the Forbidden Forest. That kind of snake is very poisonous, once bitten people will be unconscious. It can be life-threatening if left unattended.

Although Flint was rescued in time, he was still in a coma.Mr. Martin said he still had a lot of toxins in his body, so he was not completely out of danger.

Flint was quickly transferred to St. Mungo's Hospital. There he will receive further treatment.

"You did it, didn't you?" Eleanor asked Tom, crossing her arms.

At this time Tom was half lying sideways on the bed, and the pet snake was coiled beside him, enjoying his touch.

"Of course not." He replied lazily.

"Don't lie!" Eleanor said coldly, "I haven't forgotten the declaration of revenge you made before—you said that you would make him completely regret it."

"So you saw me put snakes in his bedroom?" Tom said casually, raising his eyelids.

"I didn't see it." Eleanor said impatiently, "But I know you can speak the language of snakes, and you must have ordered the snake to attack him!"

"I didn't command the snake," said Tom slowly. "I haven't even been out of the castle. How can I command a snake that lives in the Forbidden Forest?"

"You—" Eleanor stared at him tongue-tied.

—He was right.

Tom hadn't been out of the castle at all all this time, and Elinor hadn't seen him speak to any of the other snakes.

Wait...other snakes?

Elinor's eyes turned to the snake, which was spitting out the message, and slowly climbing up Tom's arm.

From time to time Tom would talk to the snake when no one was around.Of course, Eleanor could not understand what they were saying at all.

"I see—" Eleanor said slowly, "You let this snake convey your orders for you, right?"

After hearing Eleanor's words, Tom's face was shaken for a moment, but he quickly returned to normal. "Of course I didn't."

"I don't believe it," said Eleanor.

"Even if there is," he looked at Eleanor contemptuously, "do you have evidence to prove it?"

Eleanor stared at him for a moment.

"I didn't," she said, "but I just know you did."

"What do you want?" said Tom softly, looking up into her eyes. "Are you going to denounce me to the professor?"

Eleanor did not answer Tom's words. She knew she had no solid proof that Tom did it.So even if she really told the professor, the other party probably wouldn't believe her.

"It's murder, Tom," she murmured as she floated limply in the air. "Don't you know that the boy is likely to die like this?"

"But he's alive and well, isn't he?" Tom raised one corner of his mouth and smiled maliciously. "And it was the snake that tried to murder him, not me."

"How can you say such a thing?" Eleanor stared at him, "—oh, my God."

As she spoke, she suddenly covered her forehead with a sad face.

All she had thought was that Tom was just an ordinary kid.Or rather, she had been hoping to convince herself that way. This way she won't be controlled by hatred or other negative emotions.

But Tom really showed a cold and cruel side.He was definitely not a "normal kid".

Eleanor can almost foresee what kind of person Tom will eventually become if everything continues to develop in this way.

She suddenly felt that it was time to tell him the truth.
