[HP] Riddle's Spirit Behind

Chapter 004 The Killing Spell Bug Correction

Slughorn sat behind his desk and looked up at the ghostly girl floating in front of him.

She has long, wavy hair and wears a dress that just reaches her ankles. She was curiously observing a cauldron next to the desk, in which was a potion that had just been boiled not long ago, glowing with mother-of-pearl luster.

"So, Miss Alford—" Professor Slughorn began, "you're just an ordinary Muggle?"

"Yes, that's right." Eleanor replied.

"Well, this matter is a bit strange." Slughorn looked at the girl in front of him a little worriedly, "To be honest, I don't know why you appear at Hogwarts. Generally speaking, people become Ghosts usually don't stay far from where they died afterwards."

He turned his gaze to Tom who was sitting on the chair and staring at the toe of his shoe boredly, "Besides, I don't know why you must follow Tom."

"Please, you are a teacher! How can you not know anything!" Eleanor said with a click of her tongue, "Don't you wizards mention such situations in those ancient magic books?"

"Unfortunately, not as far as I know." Professor Slughorn replied, he seemed a little dissatisfied with Eleanor's attitude, so his tone was a little blunt, "And I think that the magic books I have read Definitely not a lot. So I think it's probably a rare occurrence in the entire history of the wizarding world."

"Then what should I do?" Eleanor sighed, "I don't want to be with a boring brat all day long. Is there no chance for me to go to heaven?"

"I'm sorry, I don't know." Slughorn couldn't help showing a little sympathy, because the girl in front of him was only seventeen or eighteen years old, and she was just about to start her life.Although he knew that wizards usually don't believe in heaven, he still said comfortingly: "Don't worry, Miss Alford, maybe this situation is only temporary."

"Well, maybe." Eleanor showed a frustrated expression.

Slughorn coughed lightly, "So, let's stop here today." He turned to look at the black-haired boy sitting on the chair, "Tom, do you have any opinion on this?"

Tom glanced at Eleanor, showing a gloomy expression for a moment, but quickly regained his composure.

"It's nothing, sir." He said with an obedient look.

"Oh, yes—hope you get along," Slughorn added.

"Of course we will," Tom replied immediately.

After leaving Slughorn's office, Tom changed almost entirely. His face was gloomy, and he didn't even look at Eleanor, as if he had made up his mind to treat her like air.

Soon, the other students noticed a ghost following the first-year Slytherin. They all looked at Tom and whispered to each other. These seemed to make Tom's mood worse.

In Transfiguration class in the afternoon, the professor with the long auburn beard and glasses watched Eleanor as she followed Tom into the classroom. He didn't look surprised at all.

"You are Miss Alford, aren't you?" he said, smiling. "I heard it from Horace. I am Albus Dumbledore, the professor of the course."

He didn't seem to mind one more ghost in his class.

Unlike Professor Slughorn, he behaved very calmly.Even when Eleanor pointed out a spelling error in his blackboard, he smiled happily, "Oh, yes, that's right. Thank you, Miss Alford."

This made Eleanor immediately feel good about the professor.

As in Potions, Tom was doing very well.He was the first to complete the transformation, turning a sugar cube into a pebble.

"Very good, Tom." Dumbledore praised, "Two points for Slytherin."

The other students couldn't do it at all, and the best they could do was to smooth the corners of the candy squares.

Eleanor watched them with interest during class, wondering how the seemingly ordinary little wooden stick worked.

Suddenly, the boy with the strange stick appeared in her mind-the last person she saw before she died.If she was right, the boy must be a wizard too.

She didn't know what killed her at first, because she only remembered a green light. But she had a vague feeling now that it must be some kind of strange magic.

When get out of class was about to end, Dumbledore assigned homework to the students, asking them to practice the spell proficiently after class, and then write a paper.

"Any questions?" he said.

"I have." A voice came from behind the classroom.

Everyone turned their heads in surprise and looked at the source of the voice.

Professor Dumbledore was obviously surprised too.

"Well, Miss Alford?" he said, "do you have any questions?"

"I just want to ask, is there any spell that can kill a person?" Eleanor said, and then added under everyone's surprised eyes, "By the way, that kind of spell seems to emit green light when it is cast. Light—I just wanted to ask, is there such a spell?"

The students immediately started buzzing.

"Quiet!" Dumbledore said loudly, he raised his head, his blue eyes stared at Eleanor through the lens, "I will answer this question for you after class."

He said, turning his eyes to Tom, "Sorry, Tom, can you stay for a few minutes after class?"

"Of course, sir," Tom replied.

Soon, all the students left, leaving only Tom, Professor Dumbledore, and the ghost Eleanor in the classroom.

"I'm sorry, Miss Alford," said Dumbledore, "I can't answer that question in front of the first-year students. They haven't learned the spell yet." Tom in the last row.

Tom was still staring intently at the table, as if not paying attention to what Dumbledore had to say.

"You mean, there is such a spell, right?" Eleanor stared at each other closely.

"Well, yes," sighed Dumbledore. "It's a very evil spell. We call it the Avada Kedavra."

"Oh." Eleanor was lost in thought.

"Why would you want to ask that question, Miss Alford?" asked Dumbledore.

"Oh, just call me Eleanor." Eleanor said, suddenly showing a sad smile, "Because I probably——was killed by that spell."

"Are you saying that it was a wizard who killed you?" asked Dumbledore. "I'm sorry I said it so bluntly—"

Eleanor shook her head, "It's okay. I think he should be a wizard."

"Oh, I'm sorry," said Dumbledore, his expression suddenly serious. "Perhaps I can be of help to you—do you know the man's name?"

Eleanor shook her head slightly. "I don't know him. But—"

Just then, there was a loud noise at the door.

A disgusting stench suddenly came from outside the door.

"Oh, bloody Peeves!" cried an angry man's voice. Then, a middle-aged man poked his head in from the door, "Sorry to bother you, Professor, Peeves threw another dung egg in the corridor—"

"I see, Apollyon, I'll deal with it now." Dumbledore said, and then strode towards the door.Just before leaving the classroom, he smiled back and said, "By the way, if you want help, you can always find me in my office—Tom knows where it is."

The dark-haired boy looked visibly relieved when Dumbledore left.

He looked up at Eleanor with a frown, and said warningly: "Unless I have to, I won't go to his office." He said, quickly glanced at the door, and said darkly: "You shouldn't trust him so much .”

Eleanor looked at the black-haired boy with some surprise, "You don't seem to like him very much."

"He..." the black-haired boy stopped talking in the middle of his speech, and glared at Eleanor impatiently, "Mind your own business, Muggle."

Then, Tom started a new round of ignoring strategy-he didn't look at Eleanor, and he didn't answer any questions Eleanor asked.

Even so, the students began to be curious about them.

During dinner, the students gathered in the hall had to be attracted by Eleanor floating near the long Slytherin table.

They all see Eleanor as the new ghost of Slytherin. Some people thought that wasn't bad, except for the Bloody Baron, Slytherin finally had a less scary-looking ghost.

Eleanor did have a relationship with the ghost named "Bloodman Barrow".Bloody Baron was very, very thin, with silvery blood stains on his body, like he jumped out of a horror novel.

Eleanor wanted to be more polite to this ghost who was stationed in this school first. But when she smiled and waved, the bloody Baro floated past her expressionlessly. So she had to give up.
