[HP] Dearest Enemy
Chapter 11 Event 1: New Classmate, New Companion
It was not until King's Cross was far behind that Tom returned to his compartment.Tom froze as soon as he opened the door of the cubicle. There was already a little red-haired guy sitting inside, talking happily with a brown-haired first-year freshman.Tom frowned. The little redhead with freckles did not appeal to him for some reason.
Seeing the boy standing at the door of the cubicle, the two children stopped talking and looked up at him.Tom sat silently next to the little yellow-haired guy by the window, almost a human distance away from the kid.
The redhead wrinkled his freckled nose and looked at Tom rudely: "Who are you?"
"I think when asking someone else's name, you should give your own name first." Tom said coldly, "This is the most basic etiquette."
The red hair showed an angry expression, but when he saw Tom's face, he felt that he was really rude, and scratched his disheveled hair in embarrassment: "Sorry, my name is Billy Weasley."
Tom nodded his head to show that he knew, and moved his eyes to the other child's face.
"I, my name is Roll, Roll Duraff." The brown-haired child had a slightly better eye than the red-haired Weasley, but somehow avoided Tom's gaze, looking a little timid.
"Tom Riddle." Tom announced his name, "Hogwarts first year—"
"Huh? Are you in the first grade?" Billy Weasley's eyes widened. "I thought you were in the third grade."
Tom curled his lips because of Weasley's exaggerated behavior, and his expression reminded Tom of Alex who liked to tease him: "No, I'm a freshman."
"You're so tall," said Billy, half envious, half awed.Tom chuckled, and turned his gaze to the rapidly receding scene outside the window, ignoring his companions in the same cubicle.
Harry should have left England by this time.Tom thought silently. He checked Harry's suitcase last night while Harry was making dinner. Harry seemed to be going to a far away place, and it was still very cold. Tom found a thick fur in the suitcase. cloak. He couldn't really give up on himself, Tom's well-shaped lips were drawn into a line.Despite Harry's assurances that he would not abandon him, Tom always felt uneasy. It had been less than an hour since he had been separated from the man, and Tom missed him a little.
Tom had never distrusted Harry. For as long as he can remember, Harry has taken care of him like a father. Although he sometimes acts like he hates himself, Tom is sure that he can also see a trace of warmth in those green eyes that makes him ecstatic. .During his childhood, Harry took him to travel around the country in the depressed Muggle world, and then returned to the wizarding world. Tom thought more than once what would happen if Harry left him alone, but Harry never left him.
Maybe, I really think too much.He had promised himself that he would come back, and Harry never broke his promise to himself.
Tom retracted his gaze, and found that when he was in a trance, the topics of his traveling companions in the same compartment were their own backgrounds. Thinking of his father who was uncertain about his life and death and his mother who died of dystocia, he turned his head out of the window again, pretending not to hear.
"...I'm half and half." Roll Duraff seemed to be infected by Billy Weasley's enthusiasm and vivacity, and he didn't stutter like he did when he greeted Tom. "My dad is a wizard. I guess when he got married Didn't tell my mum he could do magic, because they seemed to have had an argument the night I got the offer."
"Oh, I'm sorry." Billy scratched his head apologetically. "My whole family is wizards. I have three brothers, and a few cousins... Weasleys are always crowded. There's a Muggle village not far away, but Dad never let us go there. He says the Muggle world isn't peaceful right now, you know, because—"
Suddenly there was a loud quarrel from outside the cubicle. The two children stopped talking and turned their heads curiously. Tom also turned his head slowly and pricked up his ears.
"It's not my fault!" one boy snarled in exasperation. "I didn't mean to make her cry, you know I've had enough of her talking to me like that!"
"Walburga's your sister," the other boy said slowly, in a smooth, nonchalant tone, with a certain inherent sense of superiority. "You shouldn't be talking to her like that."
"Enough, Abraxas!" cried the boy. "I don't want to see her, and her troublesome friends, until Sorting."
The other boy paused for two seconds before speaking, his voice was much colder than before, with a hint of reprimand: "I thought you would be as smart as your sister. Obviously, you are-"
"Outlier of the Black family, if you want to say so!" The boy responded with the same nonchalant tone.
The compartment door swung open, and there were two boys standing in the doorway, staring at each other. One of them also seemed to be a first-year freshman, wearing a well-tailored black gold velvet robe, with short curly black hair casually and elegantly scattered in front of his forehead, covering his broad forehead. He had nice brown eyes, a Greek nose, and thick brows; the other boy was a little older, with long pale blond hair that fell softly on his shoulders, and his features were so delicate and beautiful that he looked like a girl.He and the younger black-haired child were wearing the same gold velvet robe, the only difference was the badge on the left chest of his school robe, which was a coat of arms with a snake entangled on a silver and green background.
"This is the shelter you chose?" The blond boy -- it should be more appropriate to be called a teenager -- quickly glanced at the cubicle, and his eyes paused on Billy's face for a second, showing a look mixed with disgust and distaste. With a sarcastic smile, "Sit in a cubicle with a Weasley."
The black-haired boy obviously didn't think of this, his eyes also stayed on Billy's face, and he frowned, as if sitting there was a disgusting slug.
"Have a nice day, Mr. Alphard Black." The blond boy sarcastically bent his mouth at the black-haired boy, glanced past Tom's face, turned and strode away. The black-haired boy stood still holding the doorknob of the cubicle, staring fiercely at the guy with the pale blond head as he walked away, before turning his head around again, with a mixture of annoyance and regret on his face.
"Sorry." Alphabet Black looked around at the people in the cubicle, his gaze fell on Tom's face, "Can I sit here?"
"No!" Billy jumped up immediately, "I don't agree."
"I didn't ask you, Mr. Weasley." Alfred gave him a very contemptuous look, "I'm asking this...?" He turned his gaze back to Tom.
"Tom Riddle." Tom reported his name lightly. The little Mr. Black who didn't lose his temper was much more pleasing to the eye than the noisy Weasley, "You can sit next to me."
Billy's eyes widened in disbelief, as if he had recognized Tom as one of his own.Alphat thanked Tom and sat by the window opposite Tom.
"Oh, Merlin!" Billy scowled and stared at Tom. "Don't you know that the Blacks are all as black as their last names?"
"It's rude of you to say that about people, Weasley." Tom said, without looking at Billy, in a tone of lazy indifference, "Mr. Black hasn't done anything to you, why are you insulting him?"
"The Blacks are all from Slytherin!" cried Billy. "They're all Dark wizards!"
Alfart's face suddenly turned pale, he stood up awkwardly, and clenched his fists: "If you don't speak, no one will think you are dumb, scum Weasley!"
"Enough!" Tom turned cold, his small but clear voice was as cold as December ice, "If you don't want to stay in this cubicle, please get out, this is not a place for you to argue."
Although Tom's words were directed at two people, he stared at Billy Weasley without blinking.Billy glared at Tom hard, as if he was going to jump on Tom and beat him up at once.Tom looked at him without fear, and the corners of his lips raised slightly with a playful provocation. After a few seconds, Billy looked away first and yelled at Tom.
"Tom Riddle, go to hell with your bloody dark wizard friend!"
After yelling, Billy turned around and rushed out of the compartment, slamming the door so hard that the glass on the compartment door shattered.Tom snorted coldly, pulled out his wand from the box, pointed to the fragments on the ground and said softly, "Back to the original", the fragments flew up by themselves, and fit together on the door frame like a puzzle, completely like a new one. Same.
"Wow!" Rolle's eyes widened, he looked at Tom adoringly, and put the thought of chasing Billy behind him.
Alfart raised an eyebrow, and looked at Tom carefully for the first time: "It's a perfect restoration spell."
Tom smiled faintly, raised his chin unconsciously, and slowly put away his wand: "It's nothing."
"Are you pure-blooded?" Alphard asked Tom curiously.
"I don't know, I haven't met my parents," Tom answered dispensably.Luo Er opened his mouth wide, and Alpha raised his eyebrows, looking very surprised.
"Where did they go?" Rolle asked.
"They're dead," Tom answered succinctly.
"I'm sorry," said Alfred and Robbie almost simultaneously, both children looking shocked.
"Let's talk about something else." Tom bent his lips and stared into Alfred's dark gray eyes, "Why were you angry just now?"
"It's not a big deal." Alfred glanced at Tom with some embarrassment, his cheeks flushed a little, "My sister used the same sleeve at home to control me: she treated me like a three-year-old child."
Tom raised his eyebrows, but he wasn't interested in the girl who was made to cry by his brother: "Is the person who talked to you just now called Abraxas from Slytherin?"
"Yes, he is now a fourth-year Slytherin student." Alfred followed Tom's question and shifted the topic to the beautiful boy. "My surname is Malfoy. Malfoy, like Black, is a pure-blood."
Tom noticed that Alfred frowned slightly when he said "pure blood".
"Is there any difference between pure blood and ordinary people?" Roll asked.
"Of course it's different!" Alfred looked at Rolle, as if Rolle was asking an idiotic question, "Pure blood is of course more noble than Muggles!"
Typical Slytherin talk.Tom couldn't help thinking that he had read "Hogwarts, A History" and knew that one of the most important house qualities in Slytherin was blood, and the Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets was related to blood.Tom couldn't help but think of what Harry said when he answered the question about his parentage. He said Tom was half-blood, but he never felt that there was any difference between pure-blood and half-blood.
Rolle's self-confidence seemed to have taken a serious blow, and he shrank into his seat.Tom saw Rolle's expression and snorted contemptuously.
The author has something to say:
Tom is in school~School is a good thing, Hogwarts is a good thing~
To make a few points:
1. Billy Weasley and Rolle Duraff are characters I invented, not in the original book 2. Abraxas is much older than now, but I changed his age to a younger one for the sake of the plot 3. Alphard Years of birth and death are unknown, so I made him and Tom a classmate
