Pharaoh

Chapter 22

On a bright moon night, the sky and the star curtain cover the earth.

In the second half of the night, most Egyptians fell asleep.

In an ordinary hotel, if the owner of the hotel knew that the king of Egypt had visited his territory, he would not know how happy he would be.

Of course, he will never know in his life.

The noble princes of Egypt, who were under one person and over ten thousand people, were sleeping soundly in a small ordinary room wearing a linen tunic with frills.

After realizing the conspicuousness of gold, the gold ornaments on his neck and limbs have been removed and handed over to Keya for safekeeping.

A small package he carried with him lay on the cabinet opposite the bed.

From the gaps in the coarse cloth, occasionally a golden light flashed.

Silent night.

A black shadow slid past the sleeping Wang Di like a ghost.

He reached out and gently unwrapped the small package.

The three layers of wrapping cloth receded, and the golden box shining with golden light under the moonlight appeared in the dark night, showing even more abrupt beauty.

There was an expression of excitement and joy in Hei Ying's eyes, and he reached for the golden box with trembling hands.

"I see."

A very soft whisper, in the silence of the night, was no less than a thunderbolt in the clear sky, shaking the man's hands.

He turned sharply.

Opposite him, the young brother Wang who was supposed to be sleeping did not know when he sat up on the bed with his knees bent, his head slightly tilted and his eyes open looking at him.

"Sure enough, this is your purpose?"

It seems to be a question sentence, but it has a positive tone.

The person in the dark stared at him blankly, opened his mouth, but couldn't utter a word.

Then, his gaze shifted to the golden box beside him.

The emotions in his eyes struggled a little, and he turned his eyes back to the young man with a fierce expression.

To get the golden cabinet, even if-

The violet-toned pupils were curved and smiling, and the young prince with a relaxed expression seemed unaware of the crisis in front of him.

"Anyone who has helped me must thank you seriously. This is the etiquette that I had to learn since I was a child in my original hometown."

"Although Seth once reprimanded me, as a king's younger brother, it's not proper to thank others, but it's probably a habit. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, so I don't plan to change it."

"However, there is one exception."

"So far, I have never once said thank you to someone who saved my life."

The boy tilted his head to look at him.

Violet-toned pupils seem to be bright and clear in the dark night.

Moonlight fell through the skylight onto the face of the man in the night.

Under the black hair, there was a young and familiar face that could not clearly see the emotions at the moment.

"Because I don't have to thank the man who nearly drowned me."

"Right? Keya."

The young boy with an immature face said with a smile, stood up from the bed, and lit the oil lamp.

The boy exposed his defenseless back to the other party without any scruples.

Ke Ya looked at the back that was not strong, and the lit oil lamp cast a long reflection of that shadow on the ground.

An elongated shadow fell on his face, flickering because of the jumping of tiny lights.

His eyes hurt slightly.

The boy's body moved away from the oil lamp, and the shadow that fell on his face also moved away.

Firelight suddenly jumped into his eyes, flashing painfully.

His left leg was bent and stepped on the edge of the bed, and the boy who sat back on the bed rested his chin on the arm resting on his left knee and looked at him.

Shadows of firelight flickered on his side cheeks.

Those translucent pupils that seemed to be able to glow in the dark stared at Ke Ya without blinking.

A stare that isn't dangerous or oppressive in any way, yet somehow immobilizes you.

"That little deer is cute."

It seemed to be a completely unrelated topic, but Ke Ya's heart skipped a beat.

"I like it very much, so it often comes to me to beg for food. It looks the cutest when it rubs against me."

"But it's a pity."

The young Wang's clear voice suddenly dropped.

"When I was unconscious, it was disposed of, and I don't know whose plate it became."

"Because it nearly killed me and made everybody mad."

"But it's clearly not its fault."

"Obviously it was because I smelled the medicine on my clothes that I went crazy and did that kind of thing, but I couldn't justify myself."

He said, staring at the young man half hidden in the night.

"It's pathetic, isn't it, Keya?"

The person he questioned was silent.

So the young Wangdi continued talking to himself.

"Emma once gave me a small piece of cloth, probably because she smelled me from that piece of cloth."

"A very small piece of cloth with ashes on the edge, clearly left over from burning."

"Afterwards, I asked my lady officer for the cloak I was wearing when the accident happened."

"The lady officer said she couldn't find it."

The teenager nodded.

"Well, it was burnt to ashes, of course I can't find it."

"If you think about it, wouldn't it be strange to take my cloak in such a chaotic situation?"

"In that case, there are actually quite a few people who have the means and can get close to me, but after excluding the irrelevant people, there are only a few left."

"You once suggested to me that Seth did it."

"Seth once said it wasn't him. I know him...he's so proud of himself, but he dares to act. Since he denies it, it won't be him."

"Actually, there's no need to think too much. It's actually just a simple sentence."

"Who is the biggest beneficiary after I fell into the water?"

"From an ordinary guard in the outer palace to the inside, because of the grace of saving his life, he became the person next to the king of Egypt, and he was able to get close to the pharaoh anytime and anywhere."

"Using the Egyptian king's brother who almost drowned as a prop and pedal──"

"do not talk!"

The sudden roar, the young man who was half hidden in the night suppressed the sound from his throat, made the quiet and dark room tremble.

"...don't say any more."

The hands beside him were curled up into fists, and the fingertips were tightly clasped into the palms.

His eyes were tightly closed, and the corners of his eyes twitched, as if he was trying his best to suppress something.

But the young man on the other side regarded him as nothing, and continued talking on his own.

"At first, I always thought you were going after Brother Wang."

"However, after probing a few times, I found that you have no interest in Brother Wang, and even intentionally or unintentionally avoided contact with Brother Wang."

"Probably because you think Brother Wang is too dangerous compared to me?"

"If it were me, I don't think a prince who has no real power is very attractive to you."

"Then the conclusion is obvious. The only valuable thing around me...is the same."

"The golden chest."

The boy's light purple pupils slowly moved to it.

The moonlight from the skylight fell, making the golden box on the table even more shining.

The golden light is so beautiful in the dark night, enough to arouse the deepest greed in the heart.

"Why……"

A hoarse, untuned voice squeezed from barely deep in the throat.

"Since you have guessed it all, why dare you come here alone."

"If you fall asleep, can't you continue to sleep?"

"Why wake up and say these things!"

Ke Ya took a step forward, a hint of ferocity flashed in his eyes.

"I need the golden cabinet... I must take it away! Your Royal Highness, there are only you and me here, do you think you can stop me?"

"I can not."

He was taken aback by the clean answer of the young prince.

"But I'm not stupid." The young man looked around and said suddenly, "Those sent by Seth, you should come out. Report your names."

A figure that fell lightly from nowhere, the vigorous man knelt down on his knees.

"Sisi, Your Royal Highness."

"...So there was only one sent." The young Egyptian prince shrugged, "But with Eset's cautious character, if you were only sent, it must be because you are trustworthy."

"Thanks to His Royal Highness's appreciation." The calm words contained the man's strong self-confidence, "As long as Sisi is here, no one can hurt you."

He stood up and faced Ke Ya.

The raised right hand protects the young brother Wang behind his back.

He stood in front of Brother Wang, which was the position that Ke Ya had always occupied.
