At noon the next day, Elizabeth was in her room about to go for a walk, when she heard a commotion downstairs, and at once the whole house seemed to be in a state of confusion; Run upstairs and call her loudly.

She opened the door and met Maria on the landing, who, out of breath with excitement, exclaimed: "Oh, dear Elizabeth, please hurry to the dining room, there is a great scene to be seen there." I'm not going to tell you what's going on. Come on, come downstairs at once."

Elizabeth asked again and again, but could not find out anything; Maria would not tell her a word; and they both ran into the dining-room, which looked on the road, to find out.It turned out that there was a lady visitor in a low four-wheeled carriage, which stopped at the garden gate.

Elizabeth hurriedly shouted: "Is that the case? I thought it was a pig that broke into the garden, but it turned out to be Lady Catherine."

Maria was surprised when she heard that she made a mistake: "Hey, my dear, that's exactly Lady Catherine."

"It's very rude of her to keep Charlotte out in such a wind. Why doesn't she come in?"

"Oh, said Charlotte, it's very rare for her to come in. It would be a great honor for Lady Catherine to come in once."

Both Mr. Collins and Charlotte stood at the door talking to the lady visitor. What Elizabeth found most amusing was that Sir William was standing reverently at the door, reverently admiring the grand sight before him, and whenever Lady Catherine looked in his direction, he always bowed.

When they had finished speaking, the female guest drove away, and the others returned to the house.Collins, as soon as he saw the two ladies, congratulated them on their good fortune, and Charlotte explained to them that Rosings was to invite them all to dine again on the morrow.

All that day and next morning there was only talk of going to Rosings.Mr. Collins told them everything in advance of what they were going to see when they went there, lest they should see such a magnificent house, such a large number of servants, and such a rich meal, which would cause temporary confusion and bewilderment.

Elizabeth rolled her eyes regardless of her appearance.

While the ladies were getting dressed, he went two or three times to the doors of the various ones, to persuade them to hurry, for Lady Catherine hated being late to dinner.Maria Lucas was shocked to hear that her old man behaved so horrible, because she was not very social. At the thought of visiting Rosings she was as terrified as her father had been at court.

Along the way, Mr. Collins introduced the surrounding scenery enthusiastically, as if knowing these made him very noble.Maria was panicking more and more by the minute, and even Sir William could not quite keep his composure.Elizabeth, however, did not flinch.

Walk through the front hall and come to the sitting room of Mrs. Catherine, where not only Mrs. Catherine is there, but Annie and the others are also there.Lady Catherine rose to meet them with the utmost humility.According to a plan which Mrs. Collins had agreed with her husband in advance, Mrs. Collins was present on the spot to introduce the host and guest, so the introduction was very tactful, and all those apologies and thanks which Mr. Collins thought were necessary were omitted.

When Elizabeth saw Fitzwilliam again, she had complicated feelings. She wanted to forget him on the one hand, but on the other hand she didn't want to forget him. Now that she saw him, she really didn't know what to do.In the same way, Fitzwilliam only found out how much he liked her when he saw Elizabeth again. He thought he didn't think much about her, but now he realized that his emotions gushed out the moment he saw Elizabeth.
