Chapter 7
Throwing it on the table and standing up, he said casually: "Laura Johnson. I remember that you rejected the invitation of the Stark Industries Security Department and the Public Relations Department-by the boss of Stark Industries, which is me-in person Invitation initiated."
"What?" Miss Bertz looked back and forth between Laura and Tony suspiciously, "You didn't mention this in your resume."
"Then she must have never mentioned that Miss Johnson is still—or, once was—a government employee." Stark took Laura's resume from Bertz's hand, looked down at random, and let out a sneer.
The Confusion Charm kept Laura's calm expression.
Miss Bertz said gravely: "I'm sorry, Miss Johnson, but we must reconsider . . . "
"It's not necessary." Stark interrupted her.He tossed the resume back into Bertz's arms, turned and walked back to his desk, saying, "I want her."
"Tony..."
"I want her. Just her."
"Okay." Miss Bots frowned, she looked at Laura and confessed: "Miss Johnson, I hope you understand your responsibilities."
"Yes, Miss Bertz."
Pep Bertz gave them a deep look, turned and left.
"Don't stand there stupidly." Stark muttered as he undressed, "Come here and hold out your hand."
"what?"
Stark looked up at her: "What kind of funny expression is that on your face? You've been holding this expression for 10 minutes, since you walked into this room."
Laura was taken aback. She secretly stretched out her hand and cast a wandless spell on her face: "Curse stops."
"Come here, stretch out your hand—yes, you look much more normal now." Stark had already taken off the only racer vest left on his upper body, and the reactor on his chest was emitting a faint blue light. He half-lyed on the chair, stuck a few discs on himself, and then slowly removed the reactor.
Tony Stark now has a huge hole in his chest.Laura felt that No-Majs were scarier than wizards when they went crazy.
"Where's your hand?" Laura stretched out his right hand, and Stark said with satisfaction, "Yes, it's very small." He pointed to the big hole in his chest and said, "See here? There's an exposed wire inside. .It hit the socket, kind of shorted."
"What am I going to do?" Laura asked.
"You put your hand in and gently pull the wire out - be careful not to let it touch the socket, or you'll electrocute me."
"Okay..." Laura reached into the big hole and met a stream of slime.Evil, it reminded her of the fear of being dominated by slugs in Ilvermorny Potions class. "It's kind of gross..." she said, fumbling for wires in the slime.
"That's electrolyte," Stark said.
"Whatever, it smells bad...I got it." Laura carefully pulled the wire out, trying not to let it touch anything.
"It does smell a bit bad, but it didn't come out of my body—well, now remember not to pull out the bottom magnet when you pull it out—"
"what?!"
"—Forget it, you've already pulled it out."
"So what do I do?! Am I going to put it back in again?!"
"No, don't! Don't put it back." Stark handed Laura the other blue-glowing reactor. "Now, you put this one on. Be quick. Insert it into the base—"
Laura quickly pulled the reactor wire and plugged it in.Thanks to Merlin, nothing went wrong this time.
"Nice job." Stark sat up and wiped the electrolyte on himself with a towel beside him.Laura held her right hand far away, desperately wanting to summon her wand now.
"Ah, there's a bathroom upstairs. Jarvis, show Miss Johnson the way—wait a minute," Stark tossed the old reactor he had just replaced to Laura, "and throw this away for me, by the way."
"Throw it away? It looks like it still works," Laura said hesitantly.
"Burn. Destroy. Or whatever you want. I have many qualities, Miss Johnson, but nostalgia is not one of them."
Chapter 6
Laura is now walking to the bathroom under the guidance of Jarvis.
The male voice came out of nowhere and said, "Miss Johnson, please go straight ahead. Turn right at the end and you will find the bathroom."
Laura has been looking all the way, trying to find strange magical fluctuations, but there is nothing. She hesitated for a long time, and finally couldn't help asking: "...Jarvis?"
"Yes, Miss Johnson. May I help you?"
"Uh... I mean, uh... where the hell are you?"
"Miss Johnson, I don't have a physical body. I am a super-intelligent software designed by Mr. Stark, a kind of artificial intelligence. Of course, I am much more advanced than the artificial intelligence currently available on the market." Jarvis explained.
Laura was actually still confused. She does know how to use ordinary No-Maj appliances and knows about the Internet, but she doesn't understand what artificial intelligence and superintelligent software are.But now she can be sure that Jarvis is definitely not the house elf she thought.
Now Laura began to regret why she didn't pay attention when Lilian and the others discussed No-Maj technology. What was she doing then?It seems to be busy reading the spell book, and the magic injury weekly...
Laura tidied herself up in the bathroom. The bathroom is probably the only wizard-friendly place in today's No-Maj society—as long as it is not a pervert, No-Maj will not install a camera in the bathroom. She tossed the old reactor Stark had given her into her purse, deciding to think about what to do with the thing later.
Back in Stark's underground workshop, Tony Stark was still busy at his workbench.Laura stood there dumbfounded, not knowing what she was supposed to do.
"The bald boss fired you?" Stark said suddenly.
For a moment Laura had no idea what he was talking about. Then she suddenly came to her senses, and said falteringly: "Uh... ah... Well, I changed my mind, government work is not suitable for me."
"I just said, there is no place that can compare to Stark Industries - super high salary, first-class environment, not to mention the handsome and rich boss himself..." He shook his head as he spoke, thinking nonchalantly asked, "You don't have that kind of—I mean, boyfriend—you don't, do you?"
"I do not have a boyfriend."
"Very good." Stark wrinkled his nose, "Pep has been fighting with me about this."
Stark stopped talking, and Laura felt she had to say something. So she went on to ask, "Why?"
"No time for a relationship, blah blah. She's blaming me for breaking up with - let me see - three boyfriends. It's not fair. I must have had something important calling her over at nine o'clock at night ’ said Stark.
"...I don't think you need to call her over at nine o'clock in the evening now...?"
"Yes, I can call you." Stark was completely unaware that there was anything wrong with his approach, and he continued: "You can drive, right? — it says so on your resume."
"Wh-yes, I will drive." Laura immediately changed her words. She didn't pay attention to this item on her resume - Merlin knew why a wizard could drive!
"Very good. Got a car?"
"No."
"I can lend you one. Red or blue?—I think you'd be fine with red. All right, it's settled."
...Agreed what?
Stark had put on his welding glasses and said, "Don't stand here, I don't need you here now."
"Uh, yes, Mr. Stark..."
"Call me Tony," Stark said, narrowing his eyes.Holding a welding torch in his right hand, he is preparing to weld a machine foot.
Laura has fully recognized Stark's temper. She said kindly, "Tony, what should I do?"
"Clean the house, whatever."
Laura hesitated for a moment.
"Where's the broomroom?" she asked weakly.
"What?" Stark turned off the torch.
"I mean, where's the broom closet...?"
"What's in the broom?" Stark took off his welding glasses and looked at her suspiciously with his big eyes.Suddenly he seemed to come to his senses, laughed and said, "You don't mean to use a broom to clean the house, do you?"
Although Laura didn't understand why he was smiling, she could feel that she must be stupid in his eyes.
He laughed for a while, stretched out his hand and snapped his fingers: "Jarvis?"
Jarvis responded immediately: "Yes, sir, at your service anytime."
"Clean the house, Jarvis. As usual, don't move the studio," Stark ordered.
"Ok sir."
"Also, take our old antique lady to the screening room." Stark laughed again as he said, "Show her some sci-fi movies with long-sightedness, AI or something. Well, let's start from the 90s." , although it is already outdated—but she might not be able to understand the latest version."
Laura followed Jarvis' cue to the screening room.On the way, she saw the small spinning disc moving around, as if it was wiping the floor; while the mechanical arm with a camera on its head was wiping the table, and the vase on the table was not touched at all.
It's just magic.
However, she is obviously the wizard!
On this day Laura received the second shock from her soul since she was born. The first time was when she discovered that she had magic and entered the magical society.Jarvis showed her the Terminator series, and she
