, honey, just keep smiling. Stark grabbed Laura's left hand and took his own arm. He walked Laura on the red carpet and waved to the crowd with his left hand.

Laura smiled stiffly and followed him step by step. She doubted that if Starla hadn't pulled her, she would have fallen on the red carpet in no time. She's never faced the kind of attention that Stark clearly enjoys.

"Mr. Stark, is this your new girlfriend?"

"Miss, what is your name? What is your relationship with Tony?"

"Mr. Stark, how long are you going to last this relationship?"

Facing the barrage of questions from various reporters, as well as the microphones and recording pens that were poking into her face through the security guard wall, Laura resisted the urge to summon the wand.

Stark took her into his arms, stretched out a hand and pushed the reporters' microphones away, and said with a smile: "Please don't scare my little assistant, thank you, thank you very much."

"Mr. Stark, isn't your assistant Miss Bertz?"

"Ah, this is my new assistant. Bertz is mainly in charge of company affairs." Stark put his arms around Laura's shoulders and led her forward."I'm sorry, Jean. We're going in," he told reporters.

"Hi Tony!" As soon as they got out of the crowd, a bald man in a suit waved to Stark. "I didn't expect you to come." The man said and patted Stark on the shoulder, his face filled with a kind smile looking at the junior.

Obadiah Stein.Laura had seen this face in the file, he was a partner in Stark Industries and was said to be a friend of Tony Stark's father.

Stark smiled and said: "The master is not here, what kind of party will the guests come to?"

Stan laughed. He glanced at Laura, "This is the new assistant we found for you?" He showed a man's tacit expression, which made Laura a little disgusted. But he didn't waste time on Laura, and then he leaned over Stark's head and said, "Hey, listen. Take it easy on the company, okay? I'll take care of the board."

"Understood. I just held it in for too long and came out to get some air." Stark smiled at him, nodded perfunctorily, and then pulled Laura into the venue.

He led Laura straight to the bar.

"A scotch," Stark said to the bartender, "and a glass for this lady—"

"No, I don't drink," Laura said hastily.

"Oh. Then have a glass of champagne. May I?"

"Ok."

Laura raised her wine glass and leaned against the bar to watch the crowd on the dance floor. She was dressed up glamorously today, and people kept coming over to talk to her, but they gave up the moment they saw Tony Stark beside her.

Except for one person.

"Hi, beautiful lady. I'm Justin Hammer, the CEO of Hammer Industries. May I have the honor to know your name?"

"No, you didn't," Stark said suddenly, putting his arm around Laura's shoulders.

"Ah! It's Tony!" The guy named Hammer opened his arms, as if he wanted to hug him, "Long time no see, Tony!"

"Yeah, long time no see. You've been having a good time recently." Stark wrinkled his face, his teeth sore. "By the way—I don't seem to know you that well."

"Oh, this breaks my heart." Hammer stroked his chest, "I thought we were good friends. Besides, you can't refuse a gentleman's invitation for a lady—this beautiful lady, Can I ask you to dance?"

It was the first time Laura had seen Tony Stark so clearly dislike someone. She looked between Hammer and Stark twice, Hammer looked at her expectantly, while her boss's cheeks were twitching, and his nose was snorting.

"No, thank you for your invitation, Mr. Hammer."

"Oh, all right. Then at least may I know your name, Miss?"

"Johnson. Laura Johnson."

"Then, beautiful Miss Johnson, we have a chance to meet again." Hammer took Laura's right hand, as if preparing for a hand kiss.

But Stark immediately knocked Hammer's hand away.

"Wow, wow," Hammer raised his hands in surrender, and slowly backed away. "Don't get excited, Tony," he said, blinking his right eye at Laura. "We'll talk about it next time."

"The clown." Stark drank a glass of whiskey and said, "It seems that Stark Industries has withdrawn from the weapon manufacturing market to support a batch of useless waste."

"Is Mr. Hammer a weapon maker, too?" Laura asked.

"Yes, although the technology is 100 years behind me, I think he is still under the consideration of the military." He said and took the wine glass in Laura's hand, "Don't talk about these boring things. I feel I feel like I've been a caveman for months." He put his glass back on the bar and held out his right hand to Laura.

"Beautiful Miss Johnson, I wonder if I have the honor to dance with you?" He deliberately put on airs and said, as if he was performing some exaggerated stage play; of course, he might be satirizing Justin Hammer, because He does it much more fluidly and naturally than Hammer.

Laura laughed at him. Before she could speak, he took Laura's hand and said with a smirk, "Gentleman's time is over, so I take this as a successful invitation."

They danced on the dance floor.Tony Stark is definitely a provocative dancer. The distance between him and Laura is getting closer, and Laura can feel his hands creeping up her back.

Laura said blankly, "Watch your hands, boss."

"God, you're beautiful," Stark murmured, leaning his head closer to Laura.

Although knowing that this is the routine of Tony Stark, a veteran of flowers, Laura blushed uncomfortably. She took a deep breath and said, "Thank you."

"Whoa. You're making me feel less attractive."

"You just got the wrong guy, boss."

"Call me Tony."

"Okay, Tony. I'd rather see you in the studio than you are now," Laura said. "Don't touch it—it's not backless. By the way, there's a Ladies in backless dresses, maybe you'd like to take a look."

"I chose the wrong clothes." Stark looked very regretful that he had chosen such a clothes for Laura that it was not convenient for him to move.He looked over there following Laura's line of sight, and asked in surprise:

"Is it my eyesight or something—that guy in the halter is my secretary, Pep?"

"Yes," said Laura.

"And the one dancing close to her—excuse me, that seems to be my driver, Happy?"

"I think so."

"It's unreasonable," he murmured, "I didn't realize that..."

Laura didn't catch a word Stark said next. She saw someone who shouldn't be here—William Paltrow was standing in the corner of the venue, looking at her grimly.

Laura's stomach convulsed. She staggered and stepped on Tony's foot.

"I'm sorry." She said quickly.

"What's wrong? You suddenly look like a rock."

Laura forced a smile and said, "I'm tired and want to go to the bar to have a rest."

"Okay, then I'll go see what's going on with my assistant and driver." Tony loosened his tie and walked towards Pep with a troubled expression.

When Laura stood by the bar and looked towards the corner again, Paltrow had disappeared.

Why is he here?Laura didn't remember that there were other places in the Magic Council that cooperated with the No-Maj government. She drank a glass of champagne with lingering fear, and looked back to the dance floor. She found Tony's figure, he was talking with Pep and the others.

After a while, Miss Berts walked away holding Hogan's arm, and Tony looked over to the bar.Laura raised her hand in greeting.

On his way to Laura, he was stopped by another woman.Laura thought it was another Stark mess. After all, when they came in today, not only were reporters' long/gun/short/cannon pointed at them, but they could also faintly hear women screaming and calling his name.

But soon Laura realized something was wrong. The woman flung a stack of photos at Tony's face.

She immediately put down her wine glass, walked over and asked, "What's going on?"

Tony was looking solemnly at the photo in his hand. The photos showed what seemed to be some kind of battlefield, full of ruins. On one, some people are carrying weapons marked "Produced by Stark Industries."

He asked coldly, "When was this filmed?"

"yesterday."

"I didn't approve the shipment."

The woman sneered: "Hehe, but your company approved it."

"My company's consent does not mean I agree."

Tony looked genuinely annoyed. He stormed out into the outfield, Laura hastily following behind.

Tony found Stan, who was still being interviewed outside, took his arm and asked, "Have you seen these photos?"

Stan ignored him, politely apologizing to the reporter and saying, "Just a second, please?"

"What's going on with Gamila?" Tony asked.

Stan pulled Tony aside, and Laura heard him say earnestly, "Tony, Tony. You can't be so naive anymore."

"Naive? Let's just say, I was naive before, and when they told me 'there's a bottom line in business', I really believed their shit. If we're doing business behind closed doors—what are we doing? ?Obi?"

"Tony
