[HP Doujin] take care of you

Chapter 30: A Holiday Escaping from Reality

It didn't take them long to explore Florence. After looking at some historic buildings and statues, Sirius' hands began to restless, although he pretended that he enjoyed being her guide. When she repeated the question to him several times and he didn't respond, and she turned to find him staring at her ass, she decided it was time to call it a day and head back to his apartment.

She doesn't complain either.

Sirius bought some booze at a local store near the apartment, and they settled down comfortably on the couch. They sat in opposite directions, their legs intertwined, each holding a glass of wine, and muffled jazz music blared from the Muggle stereo that Sirius said he had used at Hogwarts.

"That's weird." He looked at her through half-closed eyes. "It's the first time we've gotten along so well...probably ever."

Ginny smiled at the glass.

"We've been sleeping all this trip, Sirius."

"I'm not complaining."

She grinned, and he smirked too. They were silent for a while, and Ginny took a sip of the wine, the sweetness blooming on her palate.Sirius was also drinking, humming along to the song on the stereo, and scratching patterns on her legs.

"Sirius?"

"Ok?"

Ginny swirled the drink in her glass, carefully eliciting the topic she wanted to talk about. He never mentioned it to her, nor to anyone she knew.

"What do you do for the Reticent?"

His fingers stopped.

"Kim, you know I can't say it," he said, but she shook her head violently.

"It must have something to do with the curtain?"

Only the sound of music remained in the room, and Sirius nodded.

"Yes."

Ginny sighed.

"Why didn't the silent man try to contact me? I also entered the veil."

After pondering for a while, Sirius seemed to have made a decision.

"Look, baby," he said. "I can't say much on the subject. But... I tell them that if I work for them, they must not come to you."

"What? Why?" Ginny exclaimed in surprise.

Sirius started working for the Reticents after the final battle, probably four years ago.How could he decide such an important thing four years ago?He didn't even talk to her then. Why would the Reticent allow him to impose conditions?

"I don't want them bothering you. You have a lot of things to-"

"Sirius—"

"I'm protecting you." Sirius said to her seriously. "You should thank me."

"I might be able to help!"

"I doubt it very much," he replied sullenly, taking a long swig of his wine.

"What do they want from you?"

"What does it matter, Kim? It hasn't bothered you for years; don't let it bother you now."

Ginny froze for a moment, she was surprised by Sirius' attitude towards this matter.

"You're here for them," she said softly.

"I'm not going to work for them forever," he assured her. "I'm not here forever. The Veil thing...you can't help them. I just don't want them to go to you."

She looked at him and knew he was telling the truth. She was suddenly intrigued when she found him working for them, for the veil was still there, only covered up.She hated the veil, hated its existence. She would work for the Reticent if she could help break the Veil.

Thinking of this, Ginny leaned over and squeezed Sirius' hand.Seeing him smile, she leaned back and continued drinking. She closed her eyes, giggling at the thought she had just had.

"What are you laughing at?" Sirius asked her, beginning to draw patterns on her legs again.

Ginny sighed and brushed the hair from her face.

"I never thought I'd be like this when we were at Hogwarts." She paused, and Sirius looked at her. "I never thought we'd be together like this."

He made a soft voice.

"Did you know you were going to save me? When you were with us at school?"

Ginny licked her lips and shook her head. She tried to recall what made her realize that she could save Sirius, when she realized that maybe she couldn't change the past, but she could change the future that she hadn't experienced yet.

"It's Remus," she realized.

Oh Remus.Neither Sirius nor Ginny could deny that Remus had sanity in their madness, and only he could bind them together.

She tried hard to remember, a gentle smile appeared on the corner of her mouth. That seems like a long time ago.

"I told him about my time travel, but you already know." Sirius nodded. "And... I must have slipped by accident that the future wasn't bright. He was upset and said I had to change, or I had to do something."

Ginny frowned.

"I knew then that I had to save you."

Sirius' hand was still on her lap.He looked at her strangely.

"what happened?"

"I have no faith," Sirius told her, sitting up and leaning towards her. "But I sometimes feel like you're sent from heaven."

He kissed her lips lightly, and was about to sit back when she put her arms around his neck and pulled him back.

"Sirius, I..."

She wanted to speak out now.She always had a hard time telling Sirius that she loved him, either because she wasn't sure, sometimes because she knew he wouldn't believe her, or because she wasn't brave enough. But right now, Ginny wanted to tell him how much she loved him.Strong as her love was, it didn't surprise her, because Ginny knew it had been dormant inside her for years.Maybe the first time she really talked to that 17-year-old Sirius, maybe the first time she saw him tortured in Azkaban, and she found out that he escaped from the hellish prison for Harry, she fell in love with him. him.

But love is always there.

"Baby." He whispered against her lips, as if he knew her struggle.

He covered her, pushed her down on the sofa, and kissed her.Her glass fell to the floor, but no one paid attention, because there were more important things to do.

That night, she woke up gasping and confused.

"Sirius," she whispered in the night.

She stiffened and forced herself to calm down.It was dark outside, and the street below was silent. There was no light in the apartment, and perhaps the darkness made her panic even more. She dreamed that he was gone, and that the veil had taken him again.

And you're going to give us hope of living with Sirius Black.

Ginny turned over, looking for Sirius in the darkness. She was adamant about ignoring the existence of the Veil and its significant influence on her life, and its lifting disturbed her and clearly affected her.Why did she bring up this topic?

Ginny reached out and immediately found Sirius, who was sleeping on his back within an inch of her, snoring softly from his open mouth. She could only see his outline in the dark, but being able to touch him helped her calm down.

"Sirius?" Ginny whispered again, leaning closer to him, resting her head on his chest.

He murmured something she didn't understand in his sleep, but he wrapped his arms around her as if instinctively. She ran her fingers over his body, feeling his chest, arms and neck, his pulse beating steadily. She ran her fingers over his stubbled chin, his nose, and the hair that fell to his forehead.Ginny hoped this would make her more at peace, that he was really there with her, but there was still a sense of dread in her heart.

"Sirius?"

Her voice woke him up, and he moved slightly.Still sleepy, Sirius just hugged Ginny tightly, mumbled something, and then closed his eyes again.

"Sirius." Her lips pressed against his ear, her heart beating fast. "I love you, Sirius Black."

In the darkness, even in a half-asleep state, he seemed to be smiling.

"I love you too," he murmured, then snored softly.

-*.*.*-

When Ginny woke up the next day, it wasn't as late as the day before. She was surprised because it took a while after she woke up in the middle of the night to fall asleep again. With the windows open, Ginny could feel the wind being cooler than yesterday.Dark clouds hung over the sky.Looks like it's going to rain, she thought, frowning. She turned to wake Sirius up, to tell him about the bad weather, to let him know they had more time indoors, but she was surprised to find that Sirius wasn't lying beside her.She hurriedly sat up and saw him sitting at the end of the bed, holding his head in his hands.

"Sirius?"

He seemed not to hear her, motionless as a statue.

She slowly crawled to his side, stroking his back with her hands. He took a shaky breath, which startled Ginny.

"Hey, are you okay?" she said softly.

Sirius nodded reluctantly. When he looked up, she worried that something was wrong. He squinted at her, as if trying to smile.

"What's wrong?" Ginny brushed the damp curls from his forehead with her other hand.

Finding his skin hot, she froze.

"Are you sick?" He didn't answer. "Sirius? Please let me help you. Should I see a therapist?"

He didn't seem able to respond, and Ginny was getting more and more anxious. She got out of bed and knelt down in front of him.He seemed to be shaking, sweating, and twitching. This isn't just a symptom of the common flu or a hangover.

"The store," he murmured. "Opposite. Buy some medicine."

She raised her eyebrows.

"Muggle medicine?"

He nodded.

"Please, Kim."

This is enough. She took his shirt and a pair of shorts on the ground and put them on.Before Ginny left, she turned to look at Sirius, who was still holding his head.

"I promise I'll be right back." She ran to kiss his hot forehead and left the apartment.

Ginny was pretty sure she was running to the store faster than ever. But to her, everything was strange. Most of the bottles were written in Italian, which Ginny didn't understand, and she tried to describe what she needed to the old woman behind the counter, because she didn't speak Italian, and the old woman didn't know what she was talking about.Ginny roared in frustration, and was about to buy all the bottles on the counter when an American couple walked in just at that moment.

They helped Ginny find what she was looking for, and Ginny dropped some Muggle change from Sirius' locker and ran back to his apartment. He apparently added her to his security system as she put her finger on the gate and it swung open. She ran up the second floor, rushed into the apartment, and staggered to a stop.

"Who are you?" Ginny asked, immediately took out her wand from her trousers waistband, and pointed at the man in front of her.

She had never met him, but he seemed amused to see her wand, and his pale green eyes seemed to know more than she did.The sound of Sirius coughing in the bedroom made Ginny shudder, and she lowered her wand slightly to look more closely at the man in front of her.

"You are the Reticent," she said, narrowing her eyes.

"What exposed me?" he asked, smiling slightly at her.

If Ginny had spent more time looking at him, a lot would have revealed him.His gray hair was long, although he looked no more than ten years older than Ginny. He has an astonishing magic power, which is comparable to McGonagall. He also made Ginny think he was like a bird that could fly away and disappear in an instant. However, it was his eyes that gave him away.

"What happened to Sirius?"

The man raised his eyebrows, then lowered them again.

"He didn't tell you?" The man shook his head. "stupid people."

Ginny wanted to question him.

"What's the matter?" she snapped.

"My name is Arnold Maclear—"

"I don't care—"

"Arnold, I need you!" a voice yelled from the bedroom.

Arnold rushed into the bedroom, followed by Ginny, wand still in hand.what happened? She couldn't see Sirius behind Arnold, he was too tall, but when he bent down, she saw him. There was blood everywhere.Ginny stopped as if cursed, trying to restrain herself from throwing up at the smell. She kept looking at Sirius who was lying on the ground.

Pale as paper, he scratched the floor helplessly with his fingers and rolled his eyes.Ginny knew that he must die.She couldn't breathe, and she couldn't think.Arnold nodded to another man she hadn't noticed in time. They must have said something while she was staring at Sirius, because the strange man grasped Sirius' arm tightly and disapparated with him.Ginny was about to speak when Arnold grabbed her arm.

"Hurry up," he ordered.

They disappeared with a snap.
