[HP] Once Upon a Time in England

Chapter 19 Under the Peony Flower

-1983-

In the middle of the snowy night, there was no one on the street.

A car with headlights on sped past, the street lights flickered, and several figures appeared on the corner of the street.

One of them opened the door of the abandoned warehouse and motioned for them to follow.

"That's it?" The distinguished guest in the fox fur cloak spoke arrogantly, and he could tell that he was a high-ranking character. "Rozier is too much."

"Every guest passes here." The person holding the door said calmly, "Please, Mr. Roland—"

He chuckled, and finally pulled down the blindfold, allowing them to lead him forward.

They need to go down the stairs to the ground, and then find the exit through a complex maze. You have to pass through three mysterious and hidden corridors, and pass through nine difficult fork roads. There are heavily guarded checkpoints along the way. A guest of honor for the Death Eaters indeed.

"Can Rozier show up now?" Roland asked commandingly, and threw the cloak to the people behind him.

"What's the rush, Mr. Roland." The man smiled cunningly and meaningfully, "It's been a long night, why bother to talk about business?"

The door opened slowly, and the interior was arranged like a golden temple.Bursts of laughter came, tickling people's hearts.Roland glanced in, only to see a scene of feasting and sensuality.

"That's good." He smiled. As in the rumors, this Miss Rozier really knows the way of business. "Rozier is so troublesome, but I am disrespectful."

He wanted to climb up the stairs, but the Death Eaters behind him stopped him and handed him a mask.

"People say that the British are old-fashioned, but I don't think so." The Frenchman laughed and put on his mask to himself. "You are crazy, you can play eighteen tricks on a single stone."

Those women carefully dressed up to look like the goddesses, but there was something missing, just like this magnificent temple.

Roland hung out with one of them for a while, but still found it boring. He dismissed the woman and thought for a moment alone.I came to a conclusion: this place is more like a place for pure lust, and it is too beastly.

This conclusion is quite preposterous, but Roland didn't bother to laugh at himself. He saw the door open again.

The newly entered woman took off her cloak and handed it to the person beside her, revealing the robe inside.Cut fit, exquisite style, expensive.Wearing it on such a chaotic night seems too serious.Just like this woman's appearance, hidden behind a mask, unknown and unappreciated.

She walked into the temple slowly, but she didn't approach anyone, she just walked slowly along the wall, like patrolling.

Roland followed her step by step obsessively, and finally she stopped in front of a curtain.Roland took a glass of wine as a cover while quietly observing. She fumbled on the wall for a moment, then opened a secret door, and the beautiful figure disappeared behind the curtain.

He was overjoyed in his heart, and he didn't know if he had accidentally inhaled some enchanting incense, but Roland forgot to be cautious and hurried forward.Following the woman's example, he searched carefully on the wall, and as expected, he found a bulge.

Roland turned slightly and peeped through the crack of the door.Inside is a small study room, where the mysterious woman is sitting at the table and sketching on a piece of parchment.

He walked into the room quietly and closed the door soundlessly.Getting closer, he saw that the woman's hair was tied back by a pearl hair ornament that matched the necklace on her chest.

"Ma'am." He whispered.

The woman was startled, and quickly closed the parchment. When she saw him clearly, she relaxed: "It turned out to be Mr. Roland."

"You know me?" Roland was surprised and delighted.

"Vice Minister of the French Ministry of Magic, I don't know anyone." The corner of the woman's mouth was smiling. Whether she was being polite is another matter. "It is our honor to welcome such a distinguished guest to White Castle."

Roland was a little puzzled: "You are Rozier?"

"Of course not." The woman didn't reveal her identity, "Do you like tonight's theme?"

"Greek mythology, fallen gods, I am simply amazed." Roland looked at her white neck, feeling a little hot in his heart, "It's just that I'm not interested in those women outside, you know, I think a distinguished guest like me deserves better .”

"Mr. Roland, since you are here, you must know the rules of White Castle, right?" She hid her smile.

"Hmm." He snorted, she was different from those toy-like women outside.

"There are countless women with different styles in the hall, I think you can always pick a suitable female partner."

"I'm a clean freak, ma'am."

"That's not your reason for trespassing here."

"I know someone will be selected by Rozier to have a secret talk with her tonight, but if I don't give enough benefits before the secret talk, why should I give her what she wants?" Several names were listed on the half-opened parchment.Reminiscent of the information he learned before arriving, he couldn't help smiling: "So it's Mrs. Parkinson."

"I advise you not to mess around." She didn't seem to care about her identity being found out, "Otherwise, your life will be in danger."

"We French don't mind being romantic, Mrs. Parkinson." He put his arms around the woman's waist, she didn't struggle, Roland untied her bun and watched her luxuriant long hair hang down, "Your name? "

"Did you hear my warning? If you don't want to die, then please let go." She threatened with her mouth, but her body did not make a movement of rejection.Roland sneered, she was such a duplicity and cold beauty:

"If I offend you, will you take me off the list?"

His hand reached for her neckline, but Mrs. Parkinson dodged suddenly. If Roland hadn't held her waist tightly, she would have let her escape.

"You know my identity, ma'am. It's not good for you to anger me." Roland simply tore off his mask to reveal his true face, and stretched out his hand to the opal necklace thoughtfully, "Let's get rid of this obstructive thing first." Take it off."

……

Death—she knew it all too well.

She lost her father before she was born, and later she sent away her mother. She had lifted a daughter who had narrowly escaped death from a deadly murder scene in the middle of the night, and had witnessed a libertine dying in a gloomy room in White Castle. She had heard Sirius talk about the real battlefield before: spells whizzed around, and it was impossible to tell the enemy from friend, because one failure could mean death, so more often they were fighting for their own lives... and there were others I didn't find out who chanted the curse even after I died.

And Bod, Bod who died under poison/drug, in a dream. He was killed by her, if she hadn't asked him for help, he might not have revealed his identity.Seeing his body, foaming at the mouth and blue in the face, she trembled like she had malaria and her legs went limp. She cried and trembled and helped him close his eyes, but she couldn't let him die: Edmund wanted to give his body to Rozier.

Not long after, she fell ill and dreamed of Bode's ghost coming to claim her life while having a high fever.

But now, she has been able to face death indifferently.

Raphael Roland's body fell at her feet, limp, with a frightened expression.

She had warned him, but he hadn't listened, like the daring ones before. They all felt that they were dignified, that they were honored guests of the Death Eaters, that they could come and go freely in White Castle. But how can you make progress by seeking skins from tigers, not to mention that Rozier, who is famous for his cunning, is doing business with them.

She swayed the bell on the table. White Castle was mixed with fish and dragons. It was inevitable that various accidents would happen, and someone would come to deal with the aftermath soon.

It's just...the dead person belonged to the French Ministry of Magic, which is a bit troublesome.

She sat down at the table again and crossed out Roland's name on the list.Under the light, she saw that her hands were soft and white, but stained with blood.
