[HP] Once Upon a Time in England
Chapter 10
While washing his face, Harry saw the lightning-shaped scar on his forehead again. It was clearly carved on the flesh, but it was not ugly.
It was left when You-Know-Who tried to kill him.To be precise, it was the imprint left by the mysterious man inadvertently when he fought with Dumbledore who arrived in time.
He also became the Boy Who Lived, and the newspaper said he was the future savior because he was the boy chosen by the prophecy to defeat the You-Know-Who.
But he is only six years old.
Harry thought about it, and let down a lock of hair to cover the scar.
"Harry." Sirius called him, "Breakfast is ready."
"Here we come." Harry immediately forgot the little worries in his heart, he thumped and rushed to the kitchen, where Sirius was distributing food:
"How many slices of toast would you like?"
"one slice."
"Would you like a bacon omelet?"
Harry swallowed, "Of course! Sirius cooks the best food in the world."
For the compliment, he got an extra slice of bacon.
In fact, at the beginning, the life of the godfather and son was completely in chaos.Sirius didn't know anything about caring for infants, let alone his own horrific mental state at the time.Dumbledore once wanted to change his mind and send Harry to live with his aunt, but Remus and others helped him argue, and Sirius barely got a few months of "probation" to fight for his custody of Harry right.
"You know what the Dursleys said about James and Lily," Remus told him sternly, "If you don't want Harry to grow up like that, you have to convince Dumbledore that you can Take good care of him. It’s not just food and clothing, you have to provide him with the right education and guidance.”
These words woke up the dazed Sirius like a slap in the face.He had lost James, and he must never lose Harry again. When the Potters asked him to be Harry's godfather, they had entrusted him that if they passed away unfortunately, they must take care of Harry to grow up.Now is the time for him to deliver on his promise.
When Sirius successfully made fruit and vegetable puree for the first time and completed a puzzle with Harry, the sense of pride and accomplishment overwhelmed doubts and knots, and he began to find a little sense of being a parent. His life has become more fulfilling than ever, and everything is slowly on the right track.
"Sirius," Harry's words brought him back to the real world, "why doesn't she join us for dinner?"
She... Sirius turned his mind and asked back: "Do you like her?"
Harry blushed slightly, fiddled with the oatmeal in the bowl without speaking.
"What did she tell you that night?" he asked.
"The story of the three brothers. But I haven't finished listening to it yet." Harry curled his lips, and defended her righteously, "Is she afraid of you, Sirius? She didn't even want to tell me the story..."
"What's the point of not allowing her to tell you stories? Wasn't it the first time you saw her in the interrogation room?" Sirius calmly reminded Harry of this fact, "The interrogation room is full of bad people."
"She's not a bad person."
"why?"
Harry throws out impeccable logic: "Bad people don't tuck me in."
"So you're pretending to be asleep!"
"I only woke up for a while." Harry gestured.
"What's wrong with her?" Sirius felt resentful for himself, how many quilts he had covered Harry over the years, "She only covered you with a quilt and told a couple of stories."
"I don't care," Harry insisted, "she's just like mum."
These words pierced Sirius' heart like a sharp arrow, making him so painful that he couldn't hear what Harry was still saying.
Harry's memories of his parents were faint to vague.Although he had quite a few pictures of James and Lily, they were too abstract to fill the occasional fantasy, not the emotional void.Sirius did take on the responsibility of being a parent, but in the end he could only play the role of a father well.As for his mother, even Sirius couldn't tell what his mother should look like. His own mother was an unreasonable crazy woman...
"Did Aunt Mary treat you badly?" As Lily's best friend during her lifetime, Mary helped take care of Harry a lot.
"You already said she was 'Auntie'." Harry sighed old-fashionedly.
"What about Alice? Aren't you and Neville good friends?"
"She's Neville's mother."
"Amelia?" Burns' younger sister, who had also met Harry a few times.
Harry shuddered: "She's too strict..."
Comparing Amelia and Mag, Sirius couldn't help laughing: "Then... how about Marlene?"
Marlene McKinnon, an old member of the Order of the Phoenix, and his classmate at Hogwarts.
-1982-
Sirius took off his cloak and threw it on the ground.
"Harry, are you asleep?" He unbuttoned his shirt and turned to look at the bed.The woman sat by the bed, the dim light could not illuminate her face, but hid her heart.
Sirius narrowed his eyes and confirmed that it was Marlene: "What are you doing here? Where's Harry?"
"Frank took him to play with Neville."
"What do you need me for?" he asked, buttoning his shirt back.
Marlene stared at his fingers and movements, and her eyes naturally fell on his open neckline and thought-provoking muscle lines. He always kept a polite distance from the ladies, lived a life of monastic asceticism, and never had any scandals. She knew why, a touching but sentimental love story... The Black family was as famous for their beauty as for their pure blood, and he was, like his name, the brightest star in the night sky.She had noticed him very early, and she had been quietly moved very early.
Meeting his eyes, she looked away.
"Death Eaters are looking for Harry everywhere, you better watch out."
"Dumbledore has emphasized this to me many times."
"It never hurts to be reminded repeatedly."
"Ok."
Marlene stood up. She has a brave heart and a high reputation in the Order of the Phoenix, something that woman did not have before: "You don't even say thank you to me?"
"Thank you." Sirius said politely, he is used to not letting others have illusions, so a detached or even indifferent attitude is essential, "I'm going to find Harry, it will be his bedtime soon .”
"Do you still miss her?" She raised the corners of her mouth, but she didn't smile in her heart. "It's been three years."
"Sorry," he finally looked at her, "this is not something you should ask."
"You can't stay here forever for someone who won't come back, and Harry also needs a woman to balance in his growth." It's not Marlene's style to be indirect, "You know I've always been interested in you, I think you and I are also suitable. Are you sure you don't want to think about it?"
She straightened her back and stared at him with burning eyes.Vow to get an answer.
"I don't want to live a lie."
To lie to Harry, and to lie to himself.Marriage is for union, home is for family.
"Okay, I understand." She despised her behavior in her heart, but when she passed by Sirius, she raised her hand to grab his collar, and tiptoed to send her lips over.
The author has something to say:
Marlene McKinnon: About 27 years old.The only daughter of the Order of the Phoenix veteran McKinnon and his wife, who hated dark wizards because her parents died at the hands of Death Eaters, is now the team leader of the Order of the Phoenix.Infected by the experiences of James and Lily when he was young, he had ambiguous feelings for Sirius.
