Crossing into Regulus

Chapter 3 Chapter 3

Harry first knew he was different from others when he was four years old.

It was a fine day, but not so kind to him.It was around 1:[-] p.m., there was no one on Privet Drive, and everyone was taking a lunch break at home. And he finally escaped from Dudley's pursuit and hid under the slide to wipe his tears.

An adult appeared in front of him and sat down on the ground.

Harry looked up at him, smiled at him, said don't cry in a gentle voice Harry had never heard before, and took his hand away to wipe his face.

Harry wanted to cry even more.

The other party panicked, sighed, held him out under Harry's arms, and coaxed him with a more gentle voice.

Harry sobbed softly, and was afraid that he would abandon him if he was disobedient, so he quickly stretched out his arms and wrapped them tightly around his neck.

The other party just smiled softly, "I'm going to be strangled to death by you, Harry."

Harry relaxed, and asked strangely, "How do you know my name?"

The man still laughed, "Because I'm Harry's guardian elf."

"Huh?" Harry froze.

The elf walked slowly with him in his arms, with a smile on his lips forever, and said, "If Harry wants to find me, call me by my name. My name is Rael. As long as you call, I will appear by your side at any time." in front of."

Harry's eyes widened.

"But this is a secret. Don't tell anyone about the contract between us, or I will disappear." The elf smiled and grabbed a handful of candies from the air and stuffed them into Harry's chest pocket. I took it out and kept only one, "You are still young, you can only eat one, and remember to brush your teeth after eating."

Harry let go of the arm hooking the elf's neck, pulled out the candy from his pocket, and licked it.

"Is it delicious?" The elf smiled.

"Yeah." Harry nodded, stuffed the candy into his mouth, his eyes slowly lit up with satisfaction and happiness.

The elf poked Harry's bulging cheek with his finger and whispered, "It's so cute."

Harry blushed in bewilderment; no one had complimented him yet.

Harry was happy until that day when he returned to the Dursleys' house and was greeted with the usual hooting. He endured it from the moment he entered, and when the Dursleys were quiet, he hid in the cupboard and whispered into the air, "Rael?"

Regulus appeared in front of Harry with a bang, filling the remaining space in the cupboard with him, and squeezing Harry into his arms.Regulus groped the back of his head, hissing his breath while moving a finger of the other hand to draw a small sound-proof barrier.

"Okay, Harry, what's the matter?"

Harry squeezed his mouth shut and shook his head.

Regulus moved his arms to hold the boy's little head, and smiled, "You can talk, Harry, but they can't hear you."

"Oh," Harry tried, and then he said, "I just wanted to see if you'd come." Then he asked apologetically, "I'm sorry, is your head hurting?"

"It doesn't hurt too much, but next time you can call me in a more open place." Regulus lowered his head and tilted his head. Seeing Harry's wet green eyes, he couldn't help poking Harry's face with his hand.

Harry muttered a few words and hid in Regulus' armpit.

Regulus turned to stroke Harry's hair, smiling and humming nursery rhymes in a low voice.

An intermittent singing sound flowed quietly from the cupboard, and Harry was curled up in Regulus' arms, dazed. He thought he was dreaming again, the same weird dream as usual, but this time it was less urgent and warmer, and then he thought it was Rael who was kissing him.Usually he thought it should be his mother.

"Rael?" Harry said with half-closed eyes.

"Huh?" Regulus interrupted the singing.

"I had a dream just now, and I dreamed of you."

"Oh, really?"

"Ah."

Regulus finally realized what a poor and cute little fellow his ward was. After he told Harry that he was the guardian elf who was always on call, he thought that Harry would keep calling him for a sense of security, and he had accumulated enough patience for this.

As a result, the next call was two weeks after the first call.

When Regulus appeared in a bridge hole, Harry was squatting on the concrete floor staring at the rain outside in a daze.

Regulus was a little angry. Dursley actually left such a small child outside in the heavy rain. This was no longer ignorance, but disgust.

But Harry was very happy. When he turned around and saw Regulus, a happy smile appeared on his face. He stood up and rushed to Regulus, hugging one of his legs.

"Harry, did Dudley bully you?" Regulus sighed, stroking Harry's hair, and noticing that it was dry.

"No, I just wanted to see you." Harry whispered, resting his head on Regulus' lap.

"Uh, are you really not being bullied? Harry, if you want to repay Dudley in a small and moderate way, I won't object." Regulus chose his words carefully.

Harry looked up at Regulus, pouted and said, "I really want to see you, Rael."

"Okay." Regulus pinched Harry's face, motioning for Harry to let go of him, and the two of them sat down side by side against the concrete bridge hole. "It's kind of cold in here." He glanced sideways at Harry, rubbed his palms together and wiped them away with a serious face, a flame burst out from between his fingers.

Harry let out a cry of surprise.

Regulus drew a half-arc outward with his fiery hand, and the flames created a semi-circle, enclosing him and Harry inside.Harry grabbed Regulus' hand and examined it, and Regulus smiled and said, "No burns, Harry."

"It's amazing." Harry looked at the half circle of fire on the ground.

"You will be so powerful in the future." Otherwise, how would we overthrow the Dark Lord?I'm still waiting for you to create a new world.Regulus thought with a smile.

"But I don't know how to do it." Harry reached out his hand to try to see if the ring of fire was real, and Regulus quickly grabbed the little arm that was about to move.

"When you grow up a few years later, you can go to Hogwarts, where you will be taught how to use magic."

"Hogwarts?"

"Ah."

"Is Rael studying there, too?"

"Yes, but I've already graduated."

"And are there still giants and dwarves in there?"

"what?"

"Does Hogwarts only accept elves and humans?"

Regulus blinked, and quickly said, "Ah, giant, there is a half-giant, there are no dwarves, and I am the only elf, and there are many ghosts in it." He was serious, and then thought of the house elves in the school kitchen, uh , what could he say to show that he was not the same as a house-elf.

One could only hope that by then Harry would be mature enough not to be annoyed that he had lied to him.

At the end of his third month as a guardian elf, Regulus had an unexpected visitor at his home.

Severus stood in the doorway in Muggle clothes.

Regulus was drowsy from sleep, and went barefoot to open the door, and didn't react until Severus was let into the living room.

He snorted.

Severus had a stern face, didn't sit down, but stood in the middle of the living room with his head slightly raised, squinting at Regulus.

"Uh..." Regulus wanted to pull himself together and come up with a countermeasure immediately, but he yawned first and looked at Severus with tears in his eyes, "Ah, I said—that, cough, Severus , what are you doing here?"

Severus groaned softly.

Regulus yawned again. He had been making cakes the Muggle way yesterday - children loved them - and hadn't succeeded until this morning. After smelling burnt, he shook his hands and went to sleep. It has only been more than three hours, and he still wants to sleep very much.

Severus flicked his wand to dispel the smell before speaking, "Reculus Arcturus Black."

"Hmm..." Regulus suddenly felt that the air was much better. He took two steps towards Severus and stopped, fell down on the sofa next to him, waved his hands to close the curtains, closed his eyes in satisfaction, and said He asked again tiredly, "Sev, what do you want?"

He didn't notice the way Severus looked at his wandless magic.

Severus waited for a short while, and after confirming that this was the only way to talk, he snorted in great dissatisfaction, "Blake, I'm disappointed that your vigilance is so low."

Regulus yawned again, buried his head in the pillows, and mumbled, "Huh? So?"

"Where's your wand? You actually live next to Potter, without even a protective spell. Do you know how many wizards on this street are watching you secretly? You didn't even make a statement of your position. Get close to Potter, do you know how many times you have been pointed at by your wand?" Severus sued one by one, only to find that the audience didn't respond at all, he closed his mouth, exhaled from his nose, and then waved his wand, no He hastily poured a large bouquet of clear spring on Regulus' head, and watched him bounce with a cry of surprise in satisfaction.

Regulus sat blankly, letting the drops of water fall from his head, and a few strands of wet hair stuck to his face. He was at a loss for a moment, as if he had just realized that there was a person standing in front of him, and he immediately stared at this guy aggrievedly, "West Foo!"

Severus glanced at him, "Allow me to remind you that you are twenty-three years old."

"A 23-year-old has the right to sleep." Regulus touched the wet sofa, his eyes were red, of course, partly because of the water flowing into his eyes, "Sev, dry it up."

Severus made a balance between maintaining his demeanor and rolling his eyes, and only glanced at the ceiling with his eyeballs, "I'm here to tell you, you'd better restrain your demeanor, and don't forget you're a wizard, please Carry your wand with you at all times."

"Severus, you did this." Regulus grabbed Severus' trousers.

Severus gritted his teeth to let go.

Regulus let go resentfully, flipped his palms and grabbed a fire, put it on the sofa and roasted it.

Severus didn't want to look at him anymore, he walked around the sofa and strode towards the door, his hand was already on the doorknob, and he heard the exclamation from the living room behind him.He couldn't help but glance back.

It was Regulus who lit the sofa.

Severus didn't want to stay here any longer, and just apparated on the round carpet at the door and left.

When Regulus woke up from a full sleep, he thought about the purpose of Severus' visit.

He remembered that Severus was also under the Dark Lord's command, but his beloved Lily was killed by the Dark Lord at that time, so he should be considered separated now.

When he came over, he reminded himself that there was still a problem of position that had not been resolved.

Don't know how the other Death Eaters did it.

After thinking about it this way, Regulus realized that he had no contact information of any other adult wizards at all, and he couldn't find anything useful from the memories of his ex. Not a Death Eater, and definitely not likable.

But after staying by Harry's side for so many years, no one jumped out to catch him, probably because he didn't think he was a bad person.

Moreover, if someone really attacked him, he would like to see if there is any effect. He has maintained his 19-year-old appearance for the past four or five years, which obviously means that he has not fully integrated into this world at all. What he did was not a resurrection at all, maybe it was just refining the young man's body, and now he was probably just a box to hold his soul.

There are still a few things to really come alive.
