Chapter 59 Tom Riddle

Little Hangleton has always been a peaceful town, but strange things have happened in recent years.

First, someone had a strange disease for no reason, and had pustules all over his face. Then the son of the Riddle family left his fiancée and eloped with the daughter of the weird family Gaunt who lived on the mountain.

Due to Riddle's poor popularity here, there was more gloating than sympathy.

A year later, Tom Riddle returned to Little Hangleton alone.Everyone was talking about it, but the Riddle family kept silent.

"He must have been bewitched by a witch," said the rumor.

Residents of Little Hangleton rarely see that family named Gaunt. It is rumored that their family is crazy, and there is a dead snake nailed to the door, maybe they are studying some kind of witchcraft.

As for Tom Riddle's former fiancée, she married a wealthy businessman in a neighboring town two months after he eloped.

Christmas is approaching, and the little Hangleton is decorated with lights to prepare for Christmas.

Just the day before Christmas Eve, two strangers visited here again. It is a young woman and a pregnant woman. They were all wearing cloaks so that their faces could not be seen clearly.

They knocked on the door of the Riddle house.

"Inform us, please, that we are meeting Mr. Tom Riddle."

The janitor looked at them vigilantly: "Mr. Riddle is ill, and he doesn't see any guests now."

"Is he ill?" Merope asked eagerly. "Is he all right? What kind of illness?"

The janitor was startled by her appearance, and he took a step back in disgust: "No comment, no comment ma'am."

"It seems that we came here by accident." Nora pulled Melo behind her, "Let's visit again some other day."

Nora pulled Merope away, and the pregnant woman was still looking back at the magnificent mansion.

"No." In the middle of the walk, Merope suddenly stopped, saying nothing and refusing to move on, "He's sick...he must be very sick...he's an ordinary person...there's no magic here Medicine...I have to go see him..."

"Trust me, he's not sick." Nora grabbed her quickly, "He just doesn't want to see visitors, you know, he just..."

But Merope insisted on going to see Riddle.Nora had to suggest that they could sneak in and see.

"Do you have a wand?"

Merope nodded: "My mother left it to me..."

"We'll use the illusion technique to sneak in later, and come out after a few words. We can't make too much noise, or we will be discovered by the Ministry of Magic, do you understand?"

Merope nodded.

Nora disillusioned both Merope and herself, but she soon found that the footprints in the snow couldn't be covered. They had to go around to the back of Riddle's house and use the Levitation Charm to enter through the window.

Nora herself is quite good at climbing, and Merope is eight or nine months pregnant. She persuaded Merope to give up again, but Merope was firm.

Only in this matter can she change her dull look and show some toughness.

She loves Riddle so much that she doesn't hesitate to use despicable means to cheat his love, and she loves so much that she is willing to stop deceiving and confess everything.

"I want to see him! I must see him!" Merope held Nora's hand tightly, and she began to speak snake language again, seeming to be on the verge of collapse.

"Okay, let's go see him, calm down, calm down." Nora frantically comforted her.

Nora climbed into the window first, and then used the Levitation Charm to transport Merope up.

In the few tens of seconds that Merope was transported in, Nora was terrified.Carefully controlling her wand, she let Merope float towards the window as smoothly as possible.

"Take my hand," said Nora,

Merope in mid-air grabbed her hand nervously.

"Stand on the window sill, step on it firmly."

Merope did so.

Then Nora lifted her down with all her strength and removed the Levitation Charm.

It finally landed safely, without causing any trauma to the unborn Tom Riddle.

They came in from the main drawing room. Now luckily no one is here.A fire was burning in the fireplace, and a portrait hung behind the sofa. The handsome young man and Tom in the portrait are extremely likeable.

His name was also Tom, Tom Riddle.

"Follow me," Nora said to Merope.

They walked quietly through the mansion, looking for Tom Riddle's room, trying not to make any noise.

A voice came from behind a door, and Nora eavesdropped on the crack of the door.

"Did Tom throw away the food again?" A middle-aged man's voice said.

"Yes, the young master smashed all the plates." A young woman's voice.

"Oh, Tom, my poor Tom." A middle-aged woman was crying. "You see how thin he was when he came back? He must have suffered a lot, frightened... My poor Tom..."

"Aren't you going to send him some more food? Tell the kitchen to prepare it immediately!" the man said violently, "Choose what he likes to eat, you idiots. Don't let him see the pumpkin! Mushrooms are not allowed!"

"Yes, yes, sir." The maid said submissively. She came towards the door.Nora flashed behind the door with Merope, but she didn't notice.

The woman in the house was still crying: "My poor Tom... my poor son... did you hear what he said? Sir... threatened, intimidated, forced by such a terrible, evil witch..."

"I heard it, I heard it all, you don't need to repeat it again." The man said angrily, "Why didn't the church nail all those witches to the stake and burn them to death?"

Nora didn't listen any more because Merope was already in tears.

"That's not what he said when he was with me..." Merope murmured, "I'm good at cooking mushrooms and pumpkin...that's the only thing our family can afford...he loves it..."

That's because he was still controlled by the love potion.

"The evil witch...are you talking about me?" She held onto Nora's hand tightly, her eyes filled with some kind of eagerness, as if she was extremely eager to get the answer she wanted from Nora.

"Sorry, Merope," Nora said.

"You liar!" Merope screamed, her grip tightening. There was a sharp pain in Nora's wrist.

"Who's there?" The Riddles noticed the movement outside.Mr. Riddle came out to check, "Hey?! Who are you? Why are you here?!"

"Liars! They are all liars! Lies!" Merope yelled frantically, with Parseltongue mixed in.

"Let go! Let go Merope!" Nora yelled.

Apparently, words alone could not bring her back to sanity.

"Relax!" Nora yelled, and Merope's hand dropped as the spell hit Merope.

Mr. Riddle stared round his eyes and mouth.

"What happened? Why are you making so much noise? Don't you even let me sleep?" A man in pajamas rubbing his eyes opened the door of another room and complained dissatisfied.

He immediately widened his eyes just like his father, stretched out his hand and pointed at Merope in disbelief: "May...Merope...how did you..."

There was undisguised fear and panic on his face, but Merope didn't seem to realize it at all. She let go of Nora and stumbled towards Tom Riddle, with a dreamlike tenderness on her face: "I heard you were sick... are you better?"

"Don't come here!" cried Tom Riddle, terrified. "Why do you have to haunt me?"

Merope stopped in her tracks, showing a trace of confusion, and then she smiled and stroked her belly: "Look, I brought my child to see you, you and my child."

"No! That's not my child!" denied old Tom, terrified. "That's the devil's child!"

Nora yelled inwardly.

"Stay out of my son!" snapped Mr. Riddle behind her, holding a gun and moving the muzzle between Merope and Nora, "or I'll shoot!"

Where the hell did he get that thing from?

Now is not the time to think about that!

"Stay still!" Mr. Riddle pointed his gun at Nora.

It is said that Muggle guns can't do harm to wizards, but that's only in theory. Nora has never been shot before, so she doesn't understand the principle of "can't do harm".She only knew that if it happened to hit her vital organs, with her healing magic, she would probably have to explain it here.

Taking advantage of her hesitation, Merope has already fallen into madness.

"Why?" she asked frantically, "Why did you abandon me? Why did you lie to me? Why?!"

Old Tom Riddle was so frightened that he fell to the ground: "Don't come here! Help me! I don't know anything... stop pestering me! Please!"

Merope rushed towards him without hesitation——

"boom!"

The barrel of the old-fashioned gun made a huge roar. However, the bullet bounced off Merope's body and was deeply embedded in the wall.

This shot seemed to stimulate Merope, and the out-of-control magic power surged around her.Old Tom crawled out on hands and feet, but was always dragged back by his ankles by invisible magic.

When the servants heard the gunshot just now, they put down their work and wanted to go upstairs to see what happened.

"Don't come up!" cried Mr. Riddle. "Go and notify the church and the police! Go!"

The servant hurriedly took orders and left.

not good!

Nora put an armor on herself and rushed up, but was violently drawn against the wall by the surging magic power, feeling that all the internal organs were knocked out of place, and there was a bloody smell in her mouth, and the wand came out of her hand .

"Why?" Merope walked towards Tom Riddle step by step, "Why did you run away? You clearly said you loved me."

Nora faltered on the ground looking for her wand.

"I didn't..." said old Tom in a panic. "You did the witchcraft on me...I didn't do anything... Please let me go..."

Merope raised his wand at him.Tom closed his eyes in horror.

"No!" "Stop!" cried Nora and Mr. Riddle at the same time.

Merope's hand stopped, she stared blankly at Tom, tears welled up from her eyes, slid across her thin and yellow cheeks, and fell on the carpet.

"You didn't lie." Merope said, "I lied to you...I used the love potion...I know it all...It's all my fault..."

The magic suddenly disappeared around her, and Nora breathed a sigh of relief, finally found her wand, and stood up, leaning on the wall.

"We didn't want to do anything," she explained in vain. "We came here at first to tell you that your baby is still here. We don't ask you to acknowledge him, we just want you to remember it."

She limped to Merope's side: "Let's go...Merope?"

The author has something to say: Regarding Merope Gaunt and Tom Riddle, I think old Tom is really innocent.

He was eating hot pot and singing, but suddenly he was drugged by Merope, and his fiancée also ran away. Fortunately, he was a man with property to inherit, but after being single for more than ten years, he was killed by his son...

If Old Tom was a woman, the degree of misery would increase exponentially. The only good thing was that Little Tom probably didn't care about the Muggle mother at all, and he wouldn't come all the way to kill her.
