Chapter 49 Azkaban Prison Break
Very good things for the Dark Lord were quickly confirmed. The news from Kingsley broke the peaceful life in the old house.
"Massive escape of Death Eaters? When did it happen? There is no news in the newspapers!"
"Where's the Eater of Souls? Where's the Ministry of Magic? What are they doing?"
"Where is Dumbledore? Does he know about it?"
Just last night, a large-scale prison break broke out in Azkaban. A group of Death Eaters led by Bellachrist Lestrange escaped, and the Ministry of Magic under the leadership of Fudge was still thinking about whitewashing the peace.
The calmest person in the old house is Tom. It's not surprising that Voldemort is temporarily just a big devil who does all kinds of evil in his impression.
Sirius walked up and down the house all day, worrying about Harry. He clenched his fists tightly, as if looking for something to vent. But he has no other outlet for it than melting the snake-shaped candlesticks in the old house into vaguely shaped gold nuggets.
Last night, Harry woke up from his sleep in bed.He dreamed that "he" was meeting his faithful servant. He looked around, and Ron, who was sleeping soundly, was snoring lightly. He thought it might be his own nervousness.Maybe it was just because he had seen that Bellactrice Lestrange in Dumbledore's memory, so he had this dream.
But the dream soon proved to be true.
The next day, the Daily Prophet carried the news on the front page. The article did not mention the mysterious person, but suspected that Sirius Black, a fugitive prisoner who escaped from prison two years ago, helped them.
"It is learned that there are witnesses in the United Kingdom who witnessed the fugitive Sirius Black. As the only successful prison escaper from Azkaban in the past 20 years, Black is likely to use his successful experience to help his former accomplices escape, including him. Cousin and Cousin Lestrange for torturing the Longbottoms."
Sirius scanned the report ten times at a glance, and smiled sarcastically: "It seems that they have another reason to hunt me down, doesn't it?"
Nora couldn't help but stare at the fugitive's face in the newspaper.Bellaxter's face was much more haggard and yellow than the last time he saw her, and it was also much more eerie.
Voldemort reappeared, and Norah's faint hopes were dashed.
The conjecture in the "Practice and Theory of Time Traveling" was confirmed. The same matter cannot coexist in the world, but the soul can.Voldemort had already abandoned the physical body given to him by his parents, and the existence of the Horcrux allowed two Tom Riddles to coexist in the world.
Voldemort moved, yes, there was nothing surprising about that, sooner or later he would, it would be strange if he was content to be silent, just, just...
She didn't know what to follow behind.
This news pulled her out of some kind of false beauty all of a sudden, and made her have to face the bloody and cruel reality.
Tom was also reading the newspaper and seemed interested in the moving figures. How strange that everyone could have lived in peace and that no one had to sacrifice. But someone is going to bleed.
Nora didn't understand why.
Dumbledore still didn't show up, and it was a gloomy Severus Snape who came to deliver the news.
You-Know-Who has hooked up with the Dementors, terrible news.Creatures that are neither human nor ghost feed on pleasure and souls. They obey whoever feeds them.If it wasn't for the mysterious man who wanted to continue to provoke the relationship between the Ministry of Magic and Dumbledore, maybe half of the people in Azkaban had already gone to the streets to show off their power.
Harry's scar was starting to ache frequently again, which wasn't a good sign.
To make matters worse, what he saw would be proven true in some corner of the newspaper the next day.A staff member of the Ministry of Magic disappeared mysteriously, and a certain staff member entered St. Mungo's because of some accident.
Something about Nora that she had been avoiding had to be brought up.That night, she opened the donkey skin pocket that she hadn't touched for a long time, took out a pen and paper, and scratched at it.
Nagini, cross it out.
Resurrection stone ring, crossed out.
Ravenclaw's diadem, crossed out.
Hufflepuff's gold cup, crossed out.
Harry Potter, cross it out.
Only the last two remain.
Tom Riddle's diary, Slytherin's locket.
The diary should have been in her hand all the time, she picked up her pocket and emptied out all the contents, and the bits and pieces rolled all over the floor.
But among these things she didn't have that diary.
The diary that has been in her pocket since the second world has become an ordinary diary in the fourth world. You talk, and Borgin Blogger, who is well versed in the dark arts, assures Nora that it has no trace of magic.
She tried to remember where was the last time she saw it?Before picking up Tom from the orphanage? No, she had seen it in the attic of the bar...
Who can take it without being noticed?
Or, did 'it' escape by itself?
Nora's temples ached.She exhales.
Could it all be any worse?
Nora finally knocked on Tom's door: "Tom, are you inside?"
Tom in his pajamas opened the door. The pajamas were old Weasley boy clothes that Molly had sent.
"Hey, Tom." Nora asked hopelessly, "Did you see a diary in my luggage with your name on it?"
"Yes." Tom replied.
"When was the last time you saw it?" Nora asked.
"In the attic of the tavern, when you showed me the book. Is it gone?"
"Yes, I may have lost it somewhere."
"Is that 'my' diary?"
"It's yours, but I never peeped at your diary, it's blank." Nora quickly explained.
"I know."
"Then you—" Nora hesitated, "It's nothing, go to bed early."
"Everyone is very worried, because did that devil do something bad again?"
"Don't worry, the adults will take care of it," Nora told him old-fashioned.
"Do you wish him to die as soon as possible?" asked Tom abruptly.
"Why do you ask?"
Tom looked up at her. "You want him dead?"
Nora took a deep breath and tapped his head: "Of course I hope 'Voldemort' dies. But, I hope that no one needs to die."
"But he must die, isn't he? That's what it says in the books. The bad guys will definitely be defeated. They deserve what they deserve."
Nora didn't know how to discuss this with Tom.She herself is still troubled by these things.Even though Voldemort was heinous, she didn't want Tom Riddle to die—no, he couldn't die, and he could only let his broken soul wander in the illusion of nothingness. If he could die, it would be a relief for him.
Human behavior is controlled by reason most of the time, but emotions are always difficult to suppress.Tom Riddle didn't kill her family and friends, she hated him less than others, and couldn't hate him like others, that was a fact.
Nora felt a little headache.
"I see," said Tom softly. "Good night, Nora." Then he closed the door softly.
What does he know?Nora stood at the door of his room, puzzled.
It is not easy to educate children.
On the night that the Daily Prophet reported on Azkaban's escape, Harry jumped out of bed, woke Ron up, and told him incoherently that Arthur Weasley was injured. They rushed out of the lounge, bumped into Professor McGonagall, and went all the way to the principal's office, where the authenticity of the news was confirmed.
In the end, Harry and the Weasley children were all sent to No. 12, Grimmond Square, waiting for news from Mr. Weasley.
Harry and the others suddenly appeared in the kitchen of the old house.Kreacher started swearing again, and Sirius told him to get the hell out before he could really ask what happened.
Nora upstairs was also awakened by the movement. She put on her coat and went down to check, and saw people huddled in the kitchen silently drinking beer.
"Who is she? I haven't seen her before." Ron, who was the first to spot Nora, asked.
"A new member of the Order of the Phoenix, I mentioned it to you last time. She lives here now." Sirius said, "and her brother is also here, living in the room you used to live in."
"I'm Nora Gray." Nora introduced herself.
Harry's scar throbbed with pain.He felt that the name seemed familiar, but the dream that he used a spell to hurt Mr. Weasley just now occupied all his mind, and he had no spare energy to think about where he had heard it.
The people in the kitchen began to report their names one by one.The chorus briefly broke the oppressive silence, but when Ginny Weasley finished saying her name, the dullness swept over the kitchen again.Looking at the room full of red-haired Weasleys, Nora realized that these were the Weasley children.
I heard that there are three older brothers on top of them. How on earth did Molly raise these kids so much?
"What happened?" Nora asked.
"Arthur is injured," Sirius explained briefly.
"Did... Voldemort do it?"
Only the boy named Ron Weasley shuddered at the name.
"Not sure yet," said Sirius with mocked ease.
Thankfully Molly's quick word back—"Daddy's not dead."—was almost good news. It's just that the kids don't look much easier.
Nora exited the kitchen.
She met Tom on the stairs. The boy's black hair was a little messy, and he had obviously just gotten out of bed.He rubbed his eyes and asked what happened, and Nora told him to hurry back to bed and sleep.Out of guilt, she didn't want Tom to meet the children downstairs.
Nora knew she couldn't sleep at all now.
Damn it, where did that diary go?And the missing Slytherin locket.Thinking about it carefully, in the previous few time and space, the Horcrux would always appear by her side. But as her perception of Horcruxes declined, her luck seemed to run out.
She tossed and turned in the room, mulling over any clues that might come in handy. She heard the children's footsteps outside one by one coming up the stairs - I hope Arthur Weasley was all right.
