Baroque Notes: Flowers and Duets
Chapter 14
, Canon explained that it has two barrels..."
Listening to Telemann still rapturously singing his "Shopping Receipt Cantata" (he grabbed a piece of paper and was already singing and writing, "Five boxes of . . . , Fred! Didn’t you say you can’t buy junk food anymore!--No, this paragraph can’t be included-----No! This paragraph should be included, in soprano!"), looking at Wei Wahl first chanted nervously while writing his "Shopping Receipt Concerto" ("Piccolo solo imitates French fries, yes, that's it! The violin's trill group imitates a lot..."), Bach couldn't laugh or cry , "Seniors, stop quickly, because the shopping receipt is so long, are you going to let the cantata divertimento that has been performed for 12 years grow to 20 years, and the other is going to let the already written 500 concertos become 600?"
"One day I'm going to make twice as many works as Sebastian and Fred put together," Telemann said solemnly.
"I want to increase the number of my concertos from covering half the earth (JohannJoachimQuantz language, author's note) to covering the earth plus the surface of the moon." Vivaldi said with confidence.
"Considering the world's forest resources, you really don't want to do this..." Bach said anxiously.
"I can compose paperless with Sibelius composition software," Telemann retorted.
"Sibelius is too expensive, or I'll use Overture." Vivaldi immediately found an outlet for his poverty.
"Listen to me, the two seniors..."
"Enough! You are all enough!" Suddenly, Handel's roar exploded in the room, "Do you want to eat anymore! Half an hour has passed, and I am so hungry!"
"What, it's been half an hour?" Telemann was very worried, "I haven't even finished STAB?!" (STAB is shorthand for four voices in choral works, author's note)
"God! I'm still writing the development of the Adagio!" Vivaldi cried out.
Bach felt dizzy, he didn't know whether he was hungry or angry, and he just felt that it was a blessing in history that Telemann and Vivaldi never met while they were both alive.
"All of you, please," Bach said helplessly, "I see there are two crabs in this shopping receipt...how about I write you a real crab canon?"

03 (Pseudo) History of Baroque Music
Also known as How to memorize the names of the main Baroque musicians the fastest.
Vivaldi (Vivaldi) and Scarlatti (Scarlatti) are a pair of brothers. In order to cook the dish of stir-fried Handel (Handel), they went hunting in Matt Forest (Matsen). I found that there are many Bahe (Bach) in the forest, and there are Taylor eels (Telemann) in the river. After a foot of Albino mud (Albinoni) they came home hungry...and came home empty handed and decided to wrap it in Pergolesi (Pergolesi) to bake Purcell (Purcell). But suddenly it rained heavily and hit Marais (Marais, Mahe Marais), and the power went out. They could only let their donkey Li (Lu Li) Ramo (Lamo) generate electricity; A body of Tartini (Tartini) and Bononchi mud (Bononcini, or translated Bononcini).

Thanks to every reader who reads here!My sentence is dry, and I don't know what to say at the end, so let me talk about my original intention of creation.
When I read the story of Handel's friendship with Telemann two years ago, even though the biographical language on which it is described is so poor, I was deeply moved. On December 1750, 12, Handel sent some exotic plants to the seriously ill Telemann to cheer him up; in 25, Handel quickly wrote to Telemann and said "I will transport the plants to you with the first ship from here"; and other interactions in life or work gave me the idea of using a historical perspective to describe this story.
However, when I sat on the 13-hour cross-country train from Montreal to Philadelphia last Christmas, when I opened a word document and decided to continue the novel, my thoughts on this story were not only the original "Tell a moving friendship".What happened to me personally and to my friends around me drew my attention to Telemann's and Handel's undergraduate law backgrounds: despite their musical talents, they were forced by their families to choose a popular major in law.Telemann's attitude towards this is heartbroken, as if the world is ending, which we can learn from his autobiography; however, Handel seldom expresses his position on this, at least from the literature I know.Ironically, throughout the history of classical music, the Faculty of Law at the University of Leipzig can be described as the cradle of composers.I can't help but think of a question: Which one should we choose between the field of personal love and the field of "rich career" recognized by the world? When I asked Telemann and Vivaldi to have the following conversation in Chapter 2, what they said and said was exactly what happened to me and many others I met:
Telemann: "But, dear Antonio? Have you ever wondered why, besides their careers, people often have hobbies that have nothing to do with their careers?"
Vivaldi: "Love is not enough to overcome material considerations. People often choose careers beyond their control. Hobbies may be a kind of psychological comfort for them to revisit the path they gave up in the past."
When I wrote this passage, I couldn't help but think of the little poem in the middle school Chinese textbook.I didn't know what it was like when I was young, but now I read it helplessly:
Linzhong Road---Frost
Two roads branched out in the yellow woods,
It's a pity that I can't get involved at the same time,
I stood there for a long time at that intersection,
I looked towards the road,
Until it disappears deep in the jungle.
But I chose another way,
It is luxuriant and very quiet,
appear more attractive and beautiful;
Although on these two small roads,
Very few traveler's footprints are left.
Although the ground was covered with fallen leaves that morning,
Both roads are unpolluted by footprints.
Ah, leave a way to see you another day!
But I know the path is endless,
I am afraid it will be difficult for me to return.
And many young people are somewhere,
I shall recall with a sigh:
A wood splits two paths—
And I chose the less traveled one,
From then on decided the path of my life
Both Telemann and Handel faced such a choice back then.Unlike Telemann, in the article I virtualized Handel's chic attitude: it doesn't matter to study law, anyway, he will drop out of school to pursue music.Handel in history did indeed do this, but who knows how much struggle and difficulty the young Handel in history had when making this decision? Both Telemann and Handel gave up the easy "bread" of the law to pursue their favorite music. It is true that we know from the beginning that they will succeed from history. However, how many people who chase their dreams do not succeed in the end, and become unknown, becoming what Telemann's mother said in Chapter 1, "If one day you are hungry and dejected Wandering, I also died because of overwork, would you still like music at that time? Would you still be very honored and proud to say, I am very happy that I chose music?"
Therefore, I admire all those who stick to their dreams. There are not many Don Quixotes in this world, but Sanchos are everywhere.I would like to dedicate this document to all those who strive for their dreams. And, I dedicate this document especially to a friend of mine who has a rare gift in music: for some insurmountable reasons, she had to choose science as a professional path.I hereby silently wish her that one day she can realize her musical dreams, just like those masters of the classical era whom she deeply respects.
