Chapter 48

wedding eve

Sylvia tried on the dress for the last time, picked up a bouquet of roses sent by Norman Gunter to imitate the bridal bouquet, and stood in front of the full-length mirror and looked at herself.

Very beautiful, she raised the corners of her lips in satisfaction.Norman Gaunt will be very happy to see it tomorrow.

When she was 12 years old, she had some speculation about her marriage, and the most likely candidate was Norman Gunter. But she didn't want to make a decision like this. There was an idea in her heart that kept going day and night, and finally she put it into practice and failed miserably. She wants to live freely without having to twist her way according to anyone's will. However, she must admit defeat now, and she still doesn't know what would happen without her father. But even the father cannot truly live freely.

She recalled the worry and apology in her father's eyes after she said "Norman Gunter."She understood that her father felt it was his fault that he wasn't getting the life he wanted, but that wasn't his problem. Her father had given her all the tender love he could.

Sooner or later, I will have the power to decide my own life.Neither muggles nor wizards can control my will.

She knew she couldn't do it now, and few people could. However, Sylvia pushed open the door to the balcony and looked at the dimly lit last quarter moon in the sky.

Sylvia turned and went back to her room, and called the maid to remove her make-up and change her clothes.

It was time for bed, and she pulled the covers tight for herself.

five months later, ireland

Rick Gran thought he was going crazy.Originally, he thought that Serena would just leave for a while like the first time, but after two months, he really couldn't wait any longer.

This Serena Hamilton who suddenly appeared and disappeared like smoke!

Rick once wondered if he was hallucinating. How can there be such a thing in the world, she is still pregnant, where can she go!

He searched all the places Serena mentioned.Serena told him at the time that she was Irish and that there was a large peat swamp near where she lived. She also described the local customs without any doubts. But, that's a lie.

Ireland has no such people.

Serena says she is 15 years old and attends classes at Hogwarts' Slytherin House.Rick Grand used his principal power to check the list of all students in school.

Hogwarts has no such person.

Blood magic is also completely useless, the child has not yet been born, and the weak magic connection can be easily blocked.

In the constant search, time passed quietly, and it has been almost eight months since she left.

Rick Grann finally found out that of all he knew about her, there was only one thing that was definitely true. The stamp on the ID she showed when she first appeared must belong to Slytherin.

Perhaps the only way left is to ask Slytherin at Hogwarts to understand. She may have used a pseudonym, which is why she was not on the list.

Rick Grann packed his things and set foot on the road to Hogwarts again after more than ten years.

Gaunt Manor was in chaos at this time.

Sylvia Slytherin Gaunt is about to give birth. Her father, the Duke of Slytherin, and her husband, Lord Norman Gaunt, and the Mistress and Mistress of Gaunt had all gathered outside the room. The doctor has arrived.

Slytherin looked very bad.The rooms are well insulated, now they can't hear anything. He just took advantage of the end of the Ministry of Magic to visit Sylvia at Gaunt Manor, just in time for her to start labor pains.

"You don't have to worry too much," Norman Gaunt tried to reassure him, "she'll be fine."

Slytherin forced a smile at him, but he wasn't that optimistic. He remembered very well that the amniotic fluid was clear when Hufflepuff gave birth to Sylvia, but Sylvia...he tried not to think about the big blood oozing from Sylvia's skirt. And it has been a long time now, the sky has begun to darken, almost eight or nine hours.

Simon walked in in a hurry, and the Gaunt family retreated knowingly. He casts a few Silencing Charms.

"Your Excellency, Mr. Gryffindor has returned to Hogwarts. He wants to see you. He said that if you are not free now, he can come to Gaunt Manor first." Simon whispered.

Slytherin glanced at the closed door.

There's no use staying here, he convinced himself. "I'm going to see him now, and he must never be allowed to go to Gaunt Manor," Slytherin replied.

An hour after he returned to Hogwarts, Gryffindor was sitting tensely in his office.

"You are back, Mr. Principal."Slytherin said impatiently.

"Serena Hamilton, is a Hogwarts student, Salazar?" Gryffindor asked directly, ignoring his tone.

"No one," Slytherin replied.

"She may have used a fake name, Salazar, she was fifteen, she was on leave last fall, black hair and black eyes. She was holding your stamped ID. Salazar, you must know." Gryffindor hurried say.

"She faked it, no one, no student ever took leave to go to Scotland." Slytherin replied equally quickly.

"You're lying," said the Gryffindor, taking a step forward, "I didn't say she went to Scotland."

Slytherin glared at him, "It's very simple, you have been living in Scotland for more than ten years, if it is the little girl you met, she must have met you in Scotland."

"No, you're lying," insisted Gryffindor, "tell me the truth, you know something."

"I said, there is no such person." Slytherin became more and more irritable. He was worried about Sylvia and worried about the truth leaking out.

Then there was a light knock on the door. "Your Mightiness."

It was Simon's voice.

Slytherin felt ominous, and he walked quickly to the door and opened it.

"Your Excellency, please go to Gaunt Manor immediately." Simon's face made him shudder, and what made his heart even colder was the last sentence, "Miss wants to see you, please hurry up."

Without saying anything, he stepped out of the door, knocked hard on the embossed blue-eyed silver snake on the doorknob, and activated the magic circle to lock Gryffindor inside.

He made it to Gaunt Manor in just four minutes because he was apparating the entire way.

The closed door had been opened, and people gathered on the right side of the hall, and Patriarch Gaunt seemed to want to stop him from saying anything.Slytherin walked right past him.

The smell of blood in the air made him dizzy, and Sylvia's pale and blue face made his knees go weak.

("Daddy"), Sylvia barely opened her eyes and said in a low voice, ("They must be lying to me, you must be waiting for me outside.")

("I'm here, Sylvia, I'm here.") He got down on one knee directly by the bed and held her hand.

("Sorry, Dad"), Sylvia said, ("I'm leaving. I thought I'd grow up sooner or later, but I don't have the chance.")

These were her last words, she closed those dark green eyes that were exactly like his, and would never open them again. No matter how many tears Slytherin shed, it would never open again.

Slytherin held the hands that had become cold stiffly, feeling the fine vibrations in his heart that were gradually shattering.

"Salazar!" someone called him.

"Salazar!"

His vision became dark, the sound of liquid flowing in his blood vessels echoed in his ears, and a sharp hissing ended everything.

He passed out.
