[HP] Moonlight Forest Fairy Tale

Chapter 1 The Girl in the Forest

Rosina picks up a man.

It was on the hillside, on her way back from collecting herbs. He was lying on the ground, his black hair was covered with dust and grass clippings, his black cloak was completely torn, his arms and thighs were bloody, and his consciousness was unconscious.Rosina took him home.

When Snape opened his eyes, his first reaction was to touch his pocket, but his arm was bound in a thick splint and he couldn't move.Turning his head barely, he was relieved to see his wand at hand, and began to survey the place he was in.

It was a thatched hut, not more than ten feet long and wide. There is a bed against the wall, bottles and cans are placed on the ground in front of it, and high straw stacks are piled up on the other side of the wall. Apart from this, there are no other decorations in the room.

He was lying on the only bed, facing the door, and the stove was just outside the door, leading to the high chimney.Very outdated design, as if time has stopped for 50 years. But very clean.Snape noticed that there was not even a speck of dust in the stove.

The bed was covered with some kind of silver-white, thin and soft animal down. His upper body was naked, and some kind of green mud was wrapped on his chest, arms and legs.He can smell it, and it is a good herbal medicine, which has a miraculous effect on healing trauma and fractures.

At this time, a little girl appeared at the door.

She put the firewood beside the stove, wiped her hands with her apron, turned and walked into the house.

The girl is very young and looks less than 10 years old. She is of Aryan race at first glance, with a high forehead, a high nose bridge, and deep eye sockets. Her skin was as white as snow, her lips were as red as rose petals, and under her long pure silver hair, there was a pair of big blue eyes like the sky.

She was wearing a long gray dress, a triangular turban on her head, and an apron in front, a typical Bavarian girl.

The face is as beautiful as a little princess, but the dress is like a peasant woman, which makes people feel a sense of incongruity.

Seeing the girl walking towards him, he asked cautiously, "Stand still. Who are you?"

The girl stopped obediently: "My name is Rosina Lorraine, may I ask who you are?"

It was a girl's voice as soft as silk and as sweet as honey, but it made Snape even more vigilant.

This girl has a name and a surname, and she is well educated!

"Who do you live with here?"

Rosina tilted her head, a little puzzled, but still replied: "I live with Mammy."

Snape continued, "Your - elder, where is she?"

Rosina pointed to the inside of the house: "Mammy has been there all the time, haven't you seen it?"

Under Snape's suspicious gaze, Rosina came in and removed the straw from the house.

It turned out that there was another bed under the haystack, and a "person" was lying on the bed.

No, it "was" a person.

An old lady lay there, already a corpse. In a dry environment, the skin withers into a mummified corpse. The eyes are deeply recessed, staring blankly at the thatched roof.

Snape was taken aback even though he had seen many worse human corpses than this.He was horrified by the fact—how long had this little girl lived in the same room as a dead body?

"Rosina," Snape said with difficulty, "your Nurse—how long has it been like this?"

Rosina sat down next to the old lady's body, wondering, "What happened?"

"You get up first!" Snape snapped.

The little girl was startled, but she stood up obediently.

After exhaling, Snape tried his best to keep his tone as soft as possible, and said, "Rosina, do you know? Your nanny is dead."

The little girl was taken aback, and suddenly, big teardrops rolled down from her big clear eyes.

Some couldn't bear it, but he still said, "Do you... know about death?"

She stared blankly at Snape, shook her head vigorously to shake off the tears, then nodded and said, "I know. Mammy told me, my father and mother, they died. They went a long way place, never to return.”

She is an orphan.Currently unaccompanied. There was a hint of pity in Snape's eyes.

Rosina continued: "But Mammy didn't go anywhere else, she is here. Why do you say Mammy is dead?"

This is a very innocent girl, Snape thought. She has no concept of death at all.

"To die is to never see again, never hear again, never make a sound again, never breathe, drink, or eat."

"How uncomfortable that is..." The girl showed a sad look, "Is Mammy so uncomfortable now?"

Snape nodded and said, "Yes. She is in pain now. If you don't let her go, her soul will never find peace."

Rosina shook her head again and again: "No, I can't treat her like this! What should I do?" She held her face and cried again.

"The dead must be buried. You need to bury her. Do you understand?"

Rosina nodded. "Oh, I know that word! 'Funeral', a forest funeral, I've been there. That's how people mourn my friends when they die."

"Your friends? Who are they? Where are they?" Snape's eyes were wary again.

Rosina noticed that he was tense, but didn't understand why, "Oh, his name is Rudolph, he is an elk, he is very strong, he is the one who brought you here for me."

Snape understood a little: "Your friends, are they all animals?"

Rosina nodded.

Snape let out a long breath.

Snape was worried that the little girl would do it by herself and insisted on watching.

He was afraid that she would not have the heart to bury her relatives and would hide the corpse again.

And the little girl said that she fixed all the misplaced bones for him, and he could recover after removing the splint a week later, but now his body must not move.

That means they continue to share the same room with a dead body for at least a week.

Fortunately, this Hogwarts student who is proficient in black magic has handled too many things more disgusting than dead people. His hands never shake when handling disgusting materials like placenta, animal teeth, and internal organs.

So after Rosina piled up the straw again, Snape could pretend to ignore its existence.
