lost summer

Chapter 1 Photos

In the afternoon, bunches of dazzling sunlight came in through the glass windows and fell on the white walls, making it a bit dazzling.I wear presbyopic glasses, sitting on the small sofa in the bedroom and reading today's newspaper. In the room, my son and daughter-in-law are cleaning the house, and there are rags and buckets on the floor. My ten-year-old grandson also came to help and told me to sit still and just read the newspaper.

"Grandpa, is this your book?" It was the voice of the grandson.I looked up and saw him holding an old book with yellowed pages, looking at me with a smile, waiting for my answer.

"Yeah, what's the matter?" I put down the newspaper, walked over and stroked his little head affectionately.Looking down, he saw the book in his grandson's hand unfolded, and there seemed to be something stuck in the middle of the book.

"Look, here is a black and white photo. There are two people on it." Sun Tzu said.

"Really?" I took the small photo and gently pinched the corner of the photo. The moment my eyes met the content of the photo, my heart trembled violently, and a hazy memory flowed like a flood. Like coming. There was a burst of sourness in my heart, and tears began to roll in my eyes.

In the photo, a teenage boy is standing with a man.The boy has an oval face, black eyes, a small crew cut, and a handsome smile. He is wearing dark blue clothes, purple-gray trousers, and white sneakers on his feet. He is well-proportioned and shorter than the people around him. One head; the man next to the boy is of medium build, with a gentle expression, wearing a dark gray tunic suit, with one hand gently on the boy's shoulder.Behind them is a small park. Nearly half a century later, that park no longer exists. Tall buildings have been built on the original site and it has become a bustling commercial center.

"Grandpa, why are you crying? Are you okay?" The grandson stretched out his little hand, gently grabbed my arm, and asked with concern.

"Ah, it's okay." I patted my grandson's head again and said, "Put the books back in the cabinet and put them neatly."

"Okay, grandpa." The grandson was very obedient, and obediently returned to the cabinet.

The son glanced at us, and then said to his grandson, "Haohao, put away the books and come help me clean the table."

The grandson responded, turned around and left the cabinet, and walked in the direction of his father.

I returned to the table in a trance, and my thoughts suddenly returned to 47 years ago.In that hazy memory, there is a past that I have buried all my life... I fell into this memory, and at that moment, I could see the end of my life.
