"Hey, don't stare at people. The intention is too obvious."

Christian turned his head quickly and looked at Sean. "I'm not watching."

He didn't know which was worse: the unmistakable pity in Sean's eyes, or the sudden spike in his pulse when he saw Alexander.

It's been two weeks.

Christian put on a smiling face, slumped back on the bench they were sitting on, and looked at the place where Mira and Alexander were not. "They look happy, don't they?"

Sean shrugged and glanced over there. "I don't know. She was smiling, but there was no expression on his face."

Christian laughed. "It doesn't mean much. I've never seen him put on such a cool face. If he doesn't want you to know what he's feeling or thinking, you're unlikely to guess. But sometimes he can't hide it."

Sean's pity seemed more apparent, and Christie got annoyed. He's fine, damn it.Even if he still has a little memory, so what?He wasn't heartbroken or anything.

"Have they gone yet?" he asked after a while.

Sean glanced that way again. "No." There was a happy smile on his face. "Drake was walking right up to them. Milla failed his class, you know. She's gotta retake it. Drake hates wasting time on a student who failed once. The hapless girl looks terrified gone."

Christian turned his head.

Indeed, Professor Rutledge's gloomy aura enveloped Mira, and he was sternly lecturing her or something.Mira was nodding so quickly that it felt like her head would fall off if she didn't stop.Christian originally wanted to laugh, but his gaze involuntarily shifted to Alexander who was at the side again.

Alexander watched Mila and Rutledge indifferently, his hands in the pockets of his gray coat, the placket of which was open to reveal a blue shirt tucked into the waistband of his trousers, the color of which matched his eyes perfectly.

"You're staring again," Sean elbowed him, and Christian had to look away.Sean chuckled and said, "I don't blame you. He is really surprisingly handsome. But personally, Drake is sexier."

Christian looked at him in disbelief.

"He is," Sean said with a smile. "He brings out the 'tall dour and scary' vibe to the fullest."

Christian snorted. "Scary? Nope. Serious question to you: did he lecture you when you two were making love?" Christian did his best to imitate Rutledge's tone. "Your performance is below average, Wyatt. You'll have to try to clamp my—"

Sean burst out laughing and gave him a "head lock" with his arm.

Someone coughed deliberately on the side.

Christian, whose head was held by Sean's arms, raised his eyes.He couldn't help but smile when he met Alexander's gaze.

Those eyes were as cold as ice.

Sean let go of him, and they both sat up straight.

"Hey," Christian greeted as casually as possible. He didn't know if he succeeded in doing so.

"Hi," Alexander said deadpan. His eyes flicked to Sean. "You're not going to introduce me to... your friend?"

"Of course. This is Sean Wyatt, and this is Alexander Sheldon."

"Nice to meet you," Sean said, reaching out to shake Alexander's hand.

Christian looked around. "Where's Mira?"

"She and Professor Rutledge are gone to pick up their homework."

"Ah," said Christian, twisting his hands together to keep his fingers from shaking.

Alexander's expression was a bit strange: tense, almost as if he was enduring some pain.

The silence continued, and the atmosphere was a little awkward.

But Alexander didn't move, his hands were in his pockets, his shoulders were straight, and his eyes were still on Christian.

Sean coughed. "So, where do you work, Alexander?"

Alexander looked at Sean. "I have a small company that specializes in translation and foreign language verification."

"Sounds like fun," Sean whispered.

Alexander stared at Christian again.

After a few minutes of silence, Alexander's eyes were filled with something Christian couldn't explain clearly.

This silence was an embarrassment unique in heaven and earth, and Christian scratched his head and wanted to bring up a topic. He tried, but it didn't work.

He opened his mouth slightly and took a deep breath.

Alexander pursed his lips. "Goodbye," he said stiffly, and strode away.

"Well, this is too weird." Christian said, leaning back on the seat all at once.

Sean looked at his face strangely. "Well, I don't have much experience with men, so I might be wrong, but he looks at you like he..."

"like what?"

Sean said uncomfortably. "Like he wants to lick you from head to toe."

Christian wailed. "Don't talk to me like that. I just turned him over."

Sean looked at him suspiciously - so annoying.

"Really!" Christian exclaimed. He pursed his lips. "And, even if you're right, nothing can be changed."

He glanced to the parking lot, where Mira was climbing into Alexander's car. "He has a girlfriend," he said calmly, watching the car go away. "He won't leave her."

Sean put his arms around him and squeezed his shoulder. "Then fuck him. He's a man—well, a handsome man, but a man. Look around, half the school wants you, take your pick."

Christian forced himself to smile. "Yeah, you're right." Rutledge walked towards them. "I know I'm attractive, but you'd better stop touching me, or your husband will kill me."

Sean laughed. "Drake is not my husband."

"Forget it. He's basically done."

Rutledge came and stopped before their eyes, raising his eyebrows.

Sean smirked and moved closer to Christian, who winked at Rutledge.

"He's like a brother to me," Christian explained, just in case.

Rutledgean looked at Sean with a dead face. "You've had enough of making me jealous. Let's go. The new babysitter should be here in an hour. We're running out of time to go home."

"Said it wasn't your husband, huh?" Christian whispered to Sean before he stood up.

Sean smiled timidly, then followed Rutledge to his car.

Christian watched them leave. There was no physical contact between the two—it was still a public place, after all, and the relationship between a professor and a student was not favored—but their body language gave everything away. The way they approached each other, the way Sean smiled at Rutledge, and the way Rutledge looked in his eyes... only a blind person couldn't tell that they were in love.

Turning his head away, Christian wrapped his coat tightly and rubbed his arms, trying in vain to shake off the cold feeling.

It's really cold today.

"You don't look relaxed," Meera said as soon as they pulled out of the parking lot.

Alexander concentrated on driving without saying anything.

Mira bit her lip and watched him from the corner of her eye.She is very worried. She thought that once Christian stopped coming, everything would be back to normal.Although everything seemed to be back on the surface now, something was wrong; she could sense it.

Alexander behaved more or less normally. But the problem was, she wasn't sure how much of it he was faking—or if it was all faking.Alexander could easily conceal his thoughts.

But he couldn't hide the tension in his muscles and the fingers clasped tightly on the steering wheel.

After hesitating for a while, Mira asked casually, "I saw Christian there just now. Did you go over to say hello?"

"beated."

She didn't like the answer, but it would be more suspicious if Alexander ignored Christian.

"Did he introduce you to Sean?"

"introduced."

"Sean is handsome, right? There are rumors that they have an affair." Mira bit her tongue. She wasn't good at lying, but she wanted Alexander to show some expression or a reaction. She needs to know.

Her efforts were in vain. The muscles in Alexander's face did not move at all.In fact, his face was unusually calm.

"What has it got to do with me?" he said reasonably, even in a pleasant tone.

A wave of uneasiness surged in her heart.

She forced a laugh. "Just talking. But even so, I'm not surprised—he's just like a street boy, very flirtatious."

"I thought you regarded him as a friend." Alexander's tone was still cheerful and peaceful, and he quickly turned the car around. "It's not good to talk about friends behind their backs."

"Being friendly and being a friend are two different things."

He didn't speak.

She felt a chill.

She reached out to hold him, fingers intertwined.

Alexander neither squeezed her back nor pulled his hand away.

Mila breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a little lighter.

They're fine, nothing has changed.Alexander still treats her well as always, she doesn't need to worry.

However, no matter how she persuaded herself, there was always a sense of uneasiness in her chest, which made her sullen and nauseated.

She hopes to turn back time and prevent her current self from reaching Christian Ashford.
