Just A Bit Obsessed
Chapter 12
Christian had seen many strangely matched couples before, but none of them could compare to the adultery between his best friend and Professor Rutledge. It wasn't adultery, though: Sean had moved in with Rutledge, which was a bombshell that Christian still can't believe.
"Ashford," Rutledge greeted him, opening the door.
"Professor," Christian greeted him awkwardly before entering the room.Although this man may be his best friend's lover, he dare not call Rutledge's name directly.
"Shawn's over there," Rutledge gestured toward the left-hand door, giving Christian a cold look before walking away. "I'm working so don't bother me. Don't make any noise."
"Okay, sir," Christian replied. Why in front of this man, he seems to be less than ten centimeters tall?
The door opened and Sean poked his head out. "You bullied Christian again?" He rolled his eyes.
Rutledge raised an eyebrow. "Me? Bullying?"
Sean gave Rutledge a "can't stand" look, walked up to him and kissed him. "While you can work, go write your book. Don't forget that you promised Bee and Emily to take them out shopping. They're so excited—they've wanted a puppy for a long time."
"Well, black and furry," said Rutledge, with a pained look on his face.
Sean grinned. "And a white star over her head. That's important to Emily."
Rutledge glanced at him. "What if there is no such puppy?"
"I'm sure you could bully someone into finding one for you," Sean teased. "Go to work before they wake up."
Rutledge shook his head, looking a little agitated, he kissed Sean on the lips, and then went upstairs, he was going to the study.
"It's a horrifying sight, man," Christian said with a wink.
Sean snorted and let him into the house. "Sometimes I also find it quite weird." He sat down on the sofa with a big smile on his face. "But I've never been happier."
Christian looked around the elegant room. "I bet his splendor adds to the relationship, doesn't it?"
Sean just smiled. "Well," he turned off the TV. "How are you doing?" He looked at Christian seriously, his blue eyes serious. Those eyes were beautiful, but they were only light blue, nothing like—
Christian flinched in embarrassment.Things are literally starting to get ridiculous.
"I mean, I've been really bad at being a friend lately," Sean looked at him awkwardly. "Things got so exaggerated, Drake took over my whole life. I know it's a lame excuse, but—"
"Take it easy," Christian reassured him, sinking into the comfortable-looking armchair.
"So, how are you doing recently?" Sean asked with concern. "You haven't been quite right lately."
Christian rubbed the corner of his left eye. "You remember what I told you, 3P with Mira and her boyfriend?"
Sean frowned and nodded. "Isn't it a month ago?"
"Yes," Christian said. "Actually, it's not a one-off. Basically, we've been doing it for a month - well, until just before Christmas."
Sean opened his eyes slightly. "So long? But you don't usually..."
"No, I'm not usually like that," Christie said quietly.
There was a long silence.During this period, Christian found three screws on the ceiling and a stain on the wall that looked like a bug, but he couldn't imagine Rutledge fighting a bug.
"Are the three of you in a relationship?" Sean said slowly, with confusion in his tone.
Christian suppressed the laughter in his throat. "No. They're a couple and I'm a sex toy. That's it."
"What else are you keeping from me. I know you, Chris."
Christian stared at his hands.
"I don't want a threesome," he whispered.
"You mean—" Sean sounded shocked.
"Yeah. I'm fucking jealous. I hate it, I'm going crazy."
"Who is jealous? He... or her?"
"Her," Christian replied dryly. "I hate seeing her touch him, kiss him—and fuck him," Christian wryly smiled. "I know it's ridiculous. She has every right to touch him—she's been his girlfriend for two years. I'm no shit to him. But..."
"Are you in love with him?"
Christian licked his lips. "I—I don't know." He smiled hollowly. "If this is love, it's fucking fucked up. I always thought love would make people happy. I've never felt so depressed. It's not even limited to sex. I hate to see them together, they are too Den is so lovely. She can touch him anywhere, hold his hand, spend the night with him—they're living together."
He met Sean's gaze. "You know what, I'm starting to hate her. She shouldn't be hated, because she's a funny, kind girl. I liked her. Now, I want to gouge her eyes out, every time I see her touch him , I just want to stomp my feet like a furry kid and yell 'it's mine!'. I know she has figured out that I want to have him more. She wants me to go. I get it." Christian snorted . "I can't say I blame her." He sighed heavily, covering his face with his hands helplessly. "I'm going crazy. It's... so fucking stupid. I barely know him, don't understand him. But it's like... I can't separate sex and love, you know? I used to be Clear, but with him I'm useless. I want to please him, to make him like me. It's just ridiculous."
Sean waited in silence for a while, then asked, "What about him? Are you hot?"
Christian sank into the armchair and sighed again. "I don't know. He's hard to understand. Sometimes I feel a little sensual, but... But I don't think he treats his girlfriend any differently than before. He's always... very considerate of her. Just a perfect boyfriend .”
Sean's mouth was drawn into a serious line. "I say don't hit me, but...if he feels the same way you feel, wouldn't he be jealous of her too? Then their relationship will deteriorate. But if they're okay, then...that seems It's bad for you."
Christian's stomach churned. He knew Sean was right, and he thought so too. "I see."
Both fell silent.
"Then what are you going to do?" Sean finally asked.
Christian bit his cheek.
"Be smart," he said, meeting Sean's gaze. "Give it up while I still can."
"Ashford," Rutledge greeted him, opening the door.
