Cross Rose Requiem

Chapter 13: Ram the Villain

As agreed, three days later, Bernie came to the garden of Montrose Manor again. After hiding in the lush flowers and waiting for a while, he saw Ram approaching.

Ram slipped into the grass and said, "Hey, Bernie. My dear friend, I have good news for you."

Bernie asked happily: "Ram, have you agreed to my plan?"

"Oh no. Dear Bernie. I've got a great job for you!"

"Work?"

"Yes, my friend. From today on, you are the gardener of the manor!"

Bernie panicked: "Ram, what are you talking about? How could I be the gardener in Montrose Manor?"

Ram grabbed his disturbed friend and said, "Don't be nervous, Bernie. I ask the Duke to take you in. As long as you stay in the manor as a gardener, you will not only be fed, but also have a comfortable bed to sleep in."

Bernie struggled: "No, Ram, I like freedom!" After finishing speaking, he wanted to run away. But Ram grabbed him and dragged him out of the flowers.Ram said: "Bernie, I want you to stay in the manor. As long as you stay in the manor, you don't have to wander the streets looking for food anymore."

Bernie grabbed the flower branch, and he exclaimed, "I refuse! You can't do that, Ram!"

Ram grabbed his leg and continued to drag, and then he called out to Anthony who was not far away: "Anthony, help me!"

Seeing the tall coachman approaching, Bernie became even more frightened.

After Anthony walked over, he bent down and picked up poor Bernie on his shoulder: "Is this the new gardener?"

Ram said, "Yes."

So Anthony carried Bernie to the basement.Bernie slapped Anthony on the back, and he yelled, "You bastard! Let me go! Let me go!"

Anthony was painless.

Ram persuaded: "Bernie, as long as you stay in the manor, Anthony will let you go."

Bernie pointed at Ram and yelled, "Rum, bastard! You betrayed me!"

Ram said, "Please don't be angry, I'm doing this for your own good."

So Bernie was locked in the basement that Ram hated.Anthony handed him the key and left.

In the basement, Bernie grabbed the iron gate and shook it: "Ram! You bastard! I'm going to beat you!"

Ram outside the cell in the basement said with a smile: "Don't do this, my friend. I just want to keep you."

Bernie scowled, pointed at Ram and said, "I like London! The traitor!"

Ramso sat down on his first leg. He propped his chin and said, "Bernie, as long as you stay. I promise, not only will you not starve, but you will also be free in the future."

Bernie doesn't trust this hypocritical thief who is good at lying.Ram is worse than him in his bones, others don't know, but Bernie knows it all!

This kind of trick can never fool him!

"Rahm! You can't lie to me!"

In front of old friends, Ram seems to disdain pretense. He stretched out his hand to push back his black-brown hair to reveal his beautiful forehead. A few strands of hair fell down, and the boy's green eyes became a little cold.

Escaped from the poorhouse, wandered the streets with Bernie, saw all kinds of crime, all kinds of squalor and chaos. He even accidentally killed someone for a piece of bread.

Ram, who is good at disguising and lying, is like a chameleon. He will change with the environment, and it is by relying on these that he has escaped countless dangers.

How could Ram, who struggled to survive in the dirtiest environment, be a kind person?

Oh no.At least in Bernie's eyes, Ram is definitely not a kind person.Instead, he's an out-and-out villain at heart.Sometimes, you will harm someone for a piece of bread.

Even if the entire Montrose Manor was deceived, Bernie would not be deceived by him.

This bastard, not only put on good clothes, but also learned knowledge. He guessed that Ram must have disguised himself as a weak man who obeyed the strong. And plan for what purpose.

Therefore, even though he had countless chances to escape, he did not escape.

Ram's green eyes looked coldly at his old friend. He pointed at his thigh and said, "Please don't refuse my help, Bernie."

Bernie asked: "Ram, tell me! Why did you stay in the manor?" What unknown purpose is he planning?

Ram's mouth curled into a horrible smile: "I just don't want to be a stinky rat in London anymore."

Bernie retorted: "But you're now a servant of an inferior man."

Ram chuckled, looking very kind: "Bernie, that's why you can't get enough to fill your stomach. Dear friend, do you still remember the gentleman who was accidentally killed by me?"

Bernie didn't know why Ram brought this up. He said, "I remember, when he was chasing you, he accidentally fell into the sewer."

"Bernie, I did it on purpose."

Bernie's eyes widened!

Oh, God!He thought he knew enough about Ram, but unexpectedly, Ram was more terrifying than he knew.

Ram told him the cruel truth: "I made a disguise in the manhole cover of the sewer in advance. When he caught up, he stepped on the ground and died."

Bernie's face was pale, and he couldn't help stepping back.

So, was it intentional for Ram to stay in Montrose Manor?

I don't know when the demon appeared behind Ram.It licked its own mouth.Ram's soul, delicious. Now, the devil finally knew why the young man's soul exuded an alluring fragrance.

Even it was almost cheated by this evil guy.

Ram looked at his frightened friend, and he continued, "Dear Bernie. Among the nobles, there is a kind of slave game."

Bernie swallowed.

Ram continued to say cruelly: "Slaves are used as pawns of the nobles, and then sent up to fight and duel." This is also one of the symbols of the power of the nobles in London.

Bernie's legs gave way.

Ram said, "My friend, please do promise me to be the gardener at Montrose. I don't want anything to happen to you."

Bernie cursed palely: "Ram, you bastard! You will be eaten by demons and go to hell!"

The demon behind Ram flapped its wings, it was very much looking forward to that day.

Ram pulled his hair down his forehead, and he showed a friendly smile: "Bernie, I will come to see you in two days. I believe that you can make the most correct choice."

Then, he left the basement.

The demon flew after him.It said, "Rum, you're a real jerk."

Ram said: "No, I just made the most correct choice." In the slums, disease and poverty take people's lives at any time, and he just wanted to survive.

He relied on camouflage and lying, like a chameleon changing with the environment, and it was by relying on these that he avoided countless dangers.

How could Ram, who struggled to survive in the dirtiest environment, be a kind person?Otherwise, how could a child who escaped from a poorhouse at the age of 11 survive?

The devil said: "I will definitely expose your hypocrisy in front of the Duke."

Ram said, "You poor wretch, you will never expose me."

The demon hugged his belly and laughed strangely, "Hahahaha".Ram was talking more and more like the Duke of Montrose.

Yep, it doesn't debunk Ram.If exposed, it would be less of a great pleasure.

Bernie was worried and scared for two days.Only Emily, the maid who brought him food, became the hope in the darkness. The kind and gentle maid told him that Ram had begged the Duke for a long time for him.

After hearing what the maid said, Bernie wanted to tell her not to be fooled by that hypocritical villain. But thinking of Ram's terrifying expression, he closed his mouth again.

The next day, Ram came to the basement with the servant's clothes in his hand: "Bernie, congratulations, today is your first day as a gardener at Montrose Manor."

Eventually, Bernie gave in.He took the clothes viciously and changed them.As he put it on, he said: "I will definitely escape from here! I will definitely escape!"

Damn it, he shouldn't have come to Ram because he was worried. Now, instead, he "locked" himself in the manor.

Ram listened, and he showed a friendly smile: "Dear brother. I can't live without you. So, forgive my mistakes."

Bernie glared at him: "You're more cunning than a fox!"

Ram said: "Don't say that, Bernie." After Bernie changed his clothes, he used the key to open the prison door, and then led Bernie to the greenhouse garden.

In the conservatory garden, early in the morning, the young owner of the Devonshire family, William Cavendish, visited. At this time, they seemed to be chatting about the spring race meeting.

When Ram took the nervous Bernie to the conservatory garden, he respectfully saluted the two dukes: "Thank you duke for your kindness, and keep Bernie."

Bernie saluted with tense and stiff limbs.Bending down, he stammered and said, "Honorable, honorable duke, thank you for taking Bernie in. Bernie must be loyal to you."

Duke Victor glanced at Bernie, and then said to Ram: “Bring him to Mr. Anthony.”

"Yes, Duke." So Ram took Bernie away to find Anthony.

After they left, Duke William said: "The young man with green eyes looks like a nobleman."

Duke Victor picked up the tea with a smile: "I made a bet with Arnold."

Duke William asked curiously: "I don't know what the bet is?"

"Three years later, Ram surpassed him and became a real nobleman," Duke Victor said.

Duke William froze for a moment, then laughed: "Oh my God, what did I hear? Duke Victor, this is the funniest thing I've heard."

These nobles like to gamble, but Duke Victor's bet is incredible.

At the same time, a message was also sent to him: Ram is about to enter the upper class and become a new nobleman.

He said with great interest: "I like Ram, he should be able to bring us fun."

Duke Victor said, "Of course."

Chatting with Duke Victor until noon, when Duke William Cavendish left, he sent an invitation to Ram—inviting him to Chatsworth Manor as a guest.Ram was flattered.

Duke William said: "My friend, I look forward to your arrival." After speaking, he put on his hat, leaned on his cane and left Montrose Manor with his servants.
