Chapter 23 The Mystery

Allen went to see Ann the next morning.

Described everything in detail.

"Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Well. This address is where Carter lives. Do you think it's safe?" Allen pointed to the line on the paper.

After a while, Ann opened the map, circled an area with his fingers, and said to Allen: "The zombies in this area have almost been wiped out, but this place is not sure."

"It's a bit dangerous, do you still want to go?"

"Go." Allen nodded without thinking for a long time.

"Okay, I'll make arrangements."

Ann has always rarely interfered with the decisions made by Allen.

All the way, it was safe and sound.

The door was unlocked, and a man stood at the front with a gun in both hands, and kicked the door hard.

"Boom!" A sound - safe.

Everyone waited in place for a while, and the man slowly took steps inside.

The house is very cold, this is Allen's first feeling.

A large blank space in the living room, with nothing but necessary furniture.

Everything is neatly placed, and it can be seen that the owner often cleans it up.

Allen glanced at the trash can, only a mineral water bottle and a few balls of tissues were thrown into it.

The power of the home appliances was carefully turned off, the doors and windows were locked, and even the curtains were drawn.

Allen checked the kitchen and found that the hood was like new. He may not usually cook, and there is only one set of tableware.

Conspicuously, there was a lighter on the counter, and there were still a few ashes in the sink, as if something had been burned.

Carter's room was quite different, and what caught his eyes was a mess.

Books, pens, tissues, smashed albums, dirty quilts were scattered on the ground...

The sheets were ripped badly and the pillows were thrown at the end of the bed.

There were several deep knife marks on the edge of the table, and there were fragments of lamps all around.

Ann walked into the bathroom, and there was a knife in the washbasin, and the blood hadn't been completely rinsed off.The medicine box was wide open, and the gauze fell to the ground.

Allen opened the drawers one by one, most of them were empty, and some only put some ordinary stationery.

Ok?

A picture album was pressed at the bottom of the book.Allen roughly turned a few pages.

The pencil outlines the appearance of that person more or less heavily, some smiling, some pursing their lips, some frowning...

Basically every page is, and the date is written in the lower right corner.

So this is ah.Then all this is explained.

Allen made a phone call.

"Hey?"

"Who introduced Carter?"

"Robert."

Ann came out of the bathroom, and Allen made a "shh" gesture to her.

"No, who told you this news?"

"I remember it seems to be his assistant, what's his name..."

"Christine?"

"Correct."

There hung up the phone, and Jack was confused.

Just as Allen was about to speak, he heard someone shouting outside, "There is a situation!"

The two looked at each other and walked out immediately.

Everyone gathered around a door, and one of them put his ear on the door and listened for a while, then turned his head and said, "Someone is inside, it might be a zombie."

Ann raised his voice and asked, "Is anyone there?"

no answer.

Ann asked again, still no response.

"Move a table to face the door," Ann suggested.Everyone's faces became serious.

Suddenly there was a sound of footsteps coming from far and near.

Several guns pointed at the door in unison.

Allen looked up, just in time to meet the woman's dismissive eyes.
