Red Dead Redemption Dawn

Chapter 158: Chief Baylor

When we got closer to the manor, the lights in the hall were still on.

John saw Kane still drinking tea in the hall.

"Why don't you go to rest?" John walked up to him and sat down.

Kane poured him a cup of tea.

John also picked it up politely and drank it directly.

"I found something today that made me a little confused." Kane scratched his head and said.

"What did you find?" John asked curiously.

"According to the information replied by the informant, the black market seems to be closed. I don't know what happened." Kane took a sip of warm tea.

"Because the head of the black market may be dead." John didn't intend to hide the issue.

"Huh?! What did you do?" Kane looked at John in surprise.

"I don't know if it was successful or not. The person who did this hasn't come back yet." John lit a cigarette and handed one to Kane, but Kane didn't pick it up.

"Is that Derek you told Zuo En today?" Kane asked after thinking for a while.

"Well. Now that you know the answer, can you fall asleep?"

"Hehe~ What do you think the black market will do?" Kane shook his head and asked again.

"How do I know, but I should find a suitable person in charge, and then find a reliable backer. After all, the original backer has fallen."

"Yes." Kane nodded in agreement.

"It's very late, let's rest early." John threw half of his cigarette into the ashtray, patted Kane on the shoulder and went back to the room to rest.

Anna was already asleep in the room, John slipped into the bed lightly, hugged her and closed his eyes.

All night.

The next morning, when John got up at about eight o'clock, the people in the manor basically got up, and Kane and the others went to work early. He is very busy and has been dealing with the thieves' collar and the company, and has been running on both sides these days.

I made myself a little embarrassed, but the person who should be fighting was the last to get up.

I got up and took a hot shower, then put on my clothes and headed to Blackwater Town.

Today, I'm going to tell Baylor that the problem in the impoverished area has been resolved, and I'll tell him about Zuo En by the way.

Habitually came to the branch at the entrance, but before stepping into the police station, he suddenly remembered that Baylor is now the chief. Shouldn't be here anymore.

When he came to the main office, John went directly to the second floor.

He found that the original director's office had been transformed into a utility room.

The utility room on the left was converted into Baylor's office.

Baylor looked very busy, he was constantly looking at the documents and writing on his hands, and the processing around him was also processing, helping him pick out the important documents to be viewed today.

John stood at the door for a moment, then knocked.

"Come in." Baylor heard the voice habitually speak, but he didn't look up.

"It looks like you're getting into the role very quickly." John jokingly said as he walked in.

"Ah~ John, sit down." After inviting John, he said to the assistant next to him.

"Go and close the door, it's nothing urgent, don't come in and disturb us."

"No problem, Chief." The assistant nodded, then left the police station and glanced at John, giving John a friendly smile.

"Looks young. Who is he?" John asked. The assistant looked to be in his twenties.

"Richard, my nephew, just started working not long ago. Seeing that his work was not very good, he was transferred over." Baylor explained the origin of the assistant.

"That's very trustworthy." John smiled and sat in front of Baylor.

"Haha~~ I can be sure of that." After speaking, Baylor said to John again, "Sorry, I went to that gentleman without consulting you."

"Ah~ it's fine. I'm worried that I won't have the chance to repay him. I owe him a lot of favor." John smiled and waved his hand to indicate that he was fine.

"That's the best way, I need some support from the political level, Mr. has been very active recently. He is the best choice, just hope you don't mind, I will convey some wishes to you through him, I have no intention of instructing you ." Baylor explained why very seriously.

"I've said it's all right. I originally planned to help you with these things, and I do owe Mr. a lot of favors. It's a matter of killing two birds with one stone." John reiterated that he really didn't mind.

"That's the best, I'm also worried that you will be angry about it. If you don't have it, then talk about it, how about it? Are you still interested in going back to the police station? The dock area is still up to you." Belle said with a smile.

"Forget it, I have too many things on my own recently, I'm afraid I don't have time for this job." John thought for a while and rejected Baylor.

"Why?" Baylor was taken aback.

"Like I said too many things, I really can't handle it. I came here to tell you about the small gangs in the impoverished area." John talked about the people who came here this time. Purpose.

"Well, if you insist, go ahead." Baylor heard the determination in John's tone but didn't say anything more.

"Yesterday I dealt with one directly for you, you should already know. I also helped them allocate a complete site, and there should be no more disputes in the past six months. And I let Zuo En occupy seven blocks in the past, If you have anything to tell these little gangs, you can talk to Zuo En directly. I gave him the power to manage these little gangs, I hope you don’t mind.” John talked about some of his decisions.

"Of course not, you handled it very well and saved me a lot of time." Baylor seemed to recall, "Zuo En, uh~ He is indeed suitable for sitting in that place. Thank you John, you helped me very busy."

"You're welcome. Well, I have too many things to do lately, so I won't bother you. I see that you are not more leisurely than me." John said and pointed to the pile of documents on Baylor's desktop.

"It's really not easy, I need to deal with many things." Baylor laughed at himself twice.

"Let's go." After saying that, John got up and walked towards the door.

"Hey~ John!"

John turned his head when he heard the sound, and then Baylor threw something, and John reached out to pick it up.

When I opened my palm, I saw the sheriff badge I handed in from my last resignation.

"What? I said no." John said, looking at Baylor.

"As you like, but if you are interested that day, you can take office at any time." Baylor explained to John.

"It's still useful in many things and on many occasions. Put it away." Seeing what John wanted to say, Baylor added another sentence.

"Well, when I'm done with my own business, you should find the right person for it. Goodbye, Chief Baylor." John shook his hand, opened the door and walked out.

"Ha~" Baylor shook his head and chuckled, and then continued to lower his head and deal with the documents.

At the door, Baylor's nephew, Mr. Richard, was standing upright at the door to take care of the two of them.

"Hey, Mr. Richard." John greeted directly when he went out.

"Yes sir, is there anything you need help with?" Richard asked with a smile.

"Ah, it's fine, I just wanted to tell you, you can go in. Do it well, young man." John encouraged Richard with a smile, and then left the police station directly.

Richard looked at this young man who was similar to himself and felt a little strange. Because Baylor seemed to take him seriously.

With such doubts, Richard entered the office as if Baylor asked, "Uncle, who was that gentleman just now? He seems to be very powerful."

After hearing this, Baylor glanced in the direction of John's departure, then turned to his young nephew and said with a smile, "You mean John? He is indeed a character, although he is not much older than you."
