Orc Tyrant
Chapter 987: Remnants
"You must be joking."
Armored soldier Nika murmured, Burrell glanced at him, and the soldier shrugged and stopped speaking.
They are standing in the main evacuation area, just one of many evacuation areas, waiting to see what happens next.
The officer standing on the top of the turret looked like he was sick. His skin was pale and his eyes were lifeless, as if he felt that the world around him was a dream and hoped he would wake up soon.
Sindura knew this, it was the appearance of people who felt they had just discovered a part of history.
"Reconnaissance tasks are assigned to light armored units."
The officer said that he was a colonel from the uniform, and his eyes deliberately avoided the men surrounding the tank he was standing on.
He glanced at the record board in his right hand, trying to flatten it, but almost dropped it to the ground.
"Things are getting worse."
Nika whispered and shook his head, while Burrell kept looking at the officer.
This is fate, just like rolling a dice.
If there is a **** who can make Sindura pray, he will make a wish that he will be forgotten forever.
But he was ordered to report to the colonel who seemed to be about to die-someone found him and gave him this order, which must be no good.
Beside him, the captains huddled together to hear what the colonel was going to say.
Their battalion originally belonged to the Third Army, but in the wave of Ouke’s attack, their organization was completely broken up.
It was a terrible period of time. They suffered heavy losses, and in the end only less than a third of the tanks were withdrawn to a safe area.
Now, they learned that they had been divided under the command frame of the sole division.
Sindura glanced around and noticed the expressions of people-some looked quite nervous, some were numb, and some even looked excited.
Then he saw other people farther away, a group of men and women in drab overalls without badges or markings.
They don't seem to be soldiers at all, they should be refugees gathered together in redundant uniforms.
Sindura sighed-he probably guessed what would happen.
"Oak's forward has arrived at the Pelican Farm. The nearby militias have been attacked, so your vehicles must remain in combat.
The officer paused and licked his lips.
Nika rolled his eyes and shook his head again, but the officer didn't seem to notice at all.
Sindura was not surprised by the fact that this idiot read through the document from beginning to end, completely ignoring the fact that even the idiot knew that the vehicle must remain in combat if he wanted to go out.
This is as meaningless as the rest of the briefing.
Everyone only cares about one thing--
Where to?
After all, Sindura thought, they would never answer the real question--
Why do you want to attack now?
Five days have passed since the war, panic followed immediately after shock, and then numbness to reality.
There have been suicides in the barracks, and the demand for all prohibited drugs has greatly increased.
There are also thousands of refugees who have successfully evacuated, dressed in faded, torn clothes, crowded into the tent that was originally empty, their original home no longer exists.
For a few days, the crowd struggled on the verge of madness.
The officers clung to the rules like people who were about to drown, clinging to floating debris, and there were some simple executions in order to maintain discipline. After that, things became more and more chaotic.
That's how time passed.
Now, things have changed a bit.
"Fuel and ammunition are all ready."
The colonel nodded to the men and women in drab overalls.
"You need to ensure that every tank can be put into combat at any time."
Nika was holding back a smile, but Burrell was not surprised.
These words are not just meaningless, they are almost pig-headed behaviors.
"The goal of this mission is to respond to the retreat of the Seventh Militia Regiment."
Said the colonel, continuing to read the document,
"They were pursued by Oak and suffered heavy losses, but there are survivors. We must ensure that they can reach the position safely."
Sindura really wanted to sigh, he felt that Mountbatten, the teacher of the Only Division, was too compassionate.
"The battle deployment is as follows."
Hearing these words, Sindura felt a chill spread in his body.
"First Squadron, you walk east along Highway 219."
A lieutenant wearing a loose camouflage uniform with a sharp face raised a hand.
"The No. 3 car in my squadron broke down and the main gun could not fire."
The colonel looked a little flustered, glanced at the record board in his hand, and flipped it over.
Sindura almost felt sorry for this guy, almost.
"Ah, yes."
He stammered.
"Yes, there is a special note on this matter, your squadron has a substitute,"
The colonel raised his head.
"Sergeant Sindura?"
Sindura exhaled and raised a hand.
"Sir."
His tone was very calm.
"Your tank is now incorporated into Lieutenant Tara's forces."
Sindura nodded in confirmation, avoiding the lieutenant's eyes.
They were going out, and after so long in the war, they still came to him.
Next to him, Nika was cursing in a low voice, while the other crew members were silent.
Sindura could not feel anything, the order seemed to hollow him out.
The colonel was still talking, but Sindura could not hear anything, the whole world was left with the pulse in his ears.
He recalled the memory three days ago in his mind, which came out like soap bubbles, vividly imaged, and so unpredictable.
The forest burned around him, and the sound of artillery shells hitting the armor sounded in his ears. The scorching moment when the rocket hit his tank, dragged the entire world into darkness.
Although the tank survived, the gunner died. He changed to a new gunner, but it was not as good as before.
Then, all the others came, one after another—all the battlefields, all the dead, with their scorched smiles.
It was a relief when his head hurts again, and the intense pain overwhelmed these memories.
"My name is Kaul."
Suddenly, Sindura raised his head, and the announcement was over.
A man was standing in front of him. The man was thin and handsome, with dark eyes and hair.
Jun Zhang on his shoulder means that he is also a captain, which is really absurd.
The man named Kaul smiled.
"I'm from the Sixth Armored Division. I think we will be comrades in the future. I have heard your name."
Sindura looked at Kaul's hand, then turned and walked away.
Nika grunted beside him, but Sindura said nothing, the flames of memory still leaping in his mind.
The deceased grinned in front of him.
