Mystery: I Married the Queen of Mystery

#53 - Flora and fauna around Silver City

Audrey, "Justice," voiced everyone's inner thoughts with her exclamation.

As a group of Beyonders at the "Middle Sequence" and "Low Sequence," they found it hard to imagine that a demigod would possess such bizarre and unpredictable abilities.

Perhaps a good friend of theirs, after being "parasitized," would completely transform into someone else's puppet, and those around them would hardly notice.

Derrick, "The Sun," made a judgment: "The person living next door to me, is it possible that he was parasitized by Amon using the second method?"

"It's possible," Audris said, shrugging. "But I can't be sure either."

Fors, "The Magician," also sighed in amazement: "It's hard to imagine that such an ability even exists."

Audris smiled and said, "As far as I know, upon reaching the demigod level, Beyonder abilities seem to undergo a qualitative change."

Then he said to Derrick, "When you come into contact with the person next door after the gathering, be careful. If you feel any discomfort, seek help immediately."

"Thank you for your reminder," Derrick said, realizing how dangerous the person next door was.

After a moment of pause, he came back to his senses and requested paper and pen from "The Fool" Klein, "expressed" the potion formula, and handed it to "The Hermit."

Audris took it and glanced at it: Sequence 9: Praiser

Main materials: A crystallized sunflower, or the tail feathers of an adult Fire Rock Bird, or the tail feathers of a Firestarter Bird, a Siren Stone, or a Singing Sunflower.

Supplementary materials: A Midsummer grass, five drops of July wine juice, a piece of Elven Darkleaf.

He could remember it firmly with just one glance. Then, under the control of his will, the paper in his hand first became illusory, and soon disappeared.

Audris then said to "Little Sun," "After the last gathering, I collected some information about the 'Land Abandoned by God.'"

"This made me think of a very interesting question that I hope to discuss with you."

Klein and Alger, "The Hanged Man," both noticed a detail: "The Hermit" had channels to collect information about the "Land Abandoned by God."

The "Land Abandoned by God" was not a particularly high-level secret in the Beyonder world, but the information about it mostly existed in the form of legends or rumors, making it difficult to obtain useful information.

The Church or some Beyonder families might have some accurate information, but it would definitely be difficult to trade for.

This seemed to confirm Klein and Alger's previous guess: "The Hermit" had special intelligence channels.

This was, of course, a signal deliberately released by Audris. He knew so much shocking history and information, even to the point where the information could only be traded at the Tarot Club.

With such foreshadowing, and after a few more times of foreshadowing, even if he later traded information about the fall of the "Ancient Sun God," it would not cause too much suspicion.

Derrick, however, didn't think so much: "What about the 'Land Abandoned by God' do you want to know?"

In his opinion, "The Hermit's" information was more valuable than a Sequence 9 pathway potion formula, so he would actively answer "The Hermit's" questions.

Everyone else listened carefully to the conversation between the two, curious about what interesting question "The Hermit" had thought of.

"Are there any animals in the 'Land Abandoned by God'?" Audris asked. "Are there any plants?"

Alger frowned slightly: What kind of question is this?

Klein behind the gray fog seemed to understand something: I almost forgot that this "Hermit" is a research talent. Such people often conduct amazing research in some seemingly ordinary places and obtain some amazing answers.

Audrey also sensed that this question might develop in a very profound direction.

"Yes…" Derrick replied after a slight daze. "But… but they might not be the same as the plants and animals on your side.

"They are more like monsters, and are basically poisonous or highly aggressive."

Audris continued, "Please describe two animals and two plants in detail."

"Okay," Derrick nodded and said, "Not far from the northern part of Silver City, there is a swamp with a kind of fish that is covered in fangs and has intense toxicity.

"They are similar to the loaches mentioned in textbooks, but the difference is that the large ones can grow as tall as an adult, and can stay on land for a long time. If you get close to the swamp, they will rush out of the swamp and actively attack humans…"

Fors tried hard to imagine a picture of a fish chasing a person: What a wonderful world.

"In the east of the city, there is a kind of bug that likes to suck blood and eat bone marrow," Derrick continued. "It is about as long and thick as an adult's index finger, and always acts in groups.

"Whether it encounters humans or any animals, it will use its sharp mouthparts to drill into the animal's body. If it is not treated in time, it will even drill into the brain…"

Audrey frowned, feeling a little disgusted and a little scared.

Audris asked further, "What do these two creatures usually eat?"

Derrick replied, "Monsters."

He further explained, "The 'Land Abandoned by God' is full of wandering humanoid or strangely shaped monsters."

Audris slowly nodded, making a gesture of "Please continue."

Derrick continued, "Also not far from the swamp in the north of the city, there is a plant with sharp thorns and rope-like vines.

"In addition to having roots that can absorb water and nutrients from the soil, they can also hunt animals or monsters.

"Some of these vines have suction cups, and some of the barbs have different toxins. We occasionally collect these vines to extract the toxins for use."

Alger now noticed: "The Sun" has been participating in the Tarot Club for so long, but I have never thought about inquiring about such common news about the "Land Abandoned by God." Just listening to him talk about these animals and plants has given me a deep understanding of life in the "Land Abandoned by God."

With emotion, he glanced at "The Hermit," still not understanding the other party's purpose.

When talking about the last plant, Derrick finally had some smile on his face: "Everywhere in our Silver City, there is Blackwheat grass.

"Its color is completely black, and the leaves can be ground into food after they mature. It is because of the existence of Blackwheat grass that most of us have not mutated or become deformed.

"This is a gift from the gods, and it is the hope that we persevere."

Audrey saw "The Sun's" smile, took a deep breath, and smiled along, "Yes, it must be the hope that the gods have given you."

At this time, she felt a little sorry for "Little Sun." He must have never eaten cheese or toast.

"The World," sitting at the bottom, reminded in a low voice, "Normality within abnormality is a kind of abnormality."
