Mystery: Chaos Path

#181 - Amon and Adam

“…I don't know.” Facing Uroboros' question, the True Creator honestly shook his head and said:

“I hope I can return.”

The True Creator was very clear that neither He nor Adam were the Sun God of the past anymore. They were just extreme sides of the other. Although they were also part of the other, no matter which one ascended, it would not be the best outcome for this world:

Divinity is too rational, humanity is too insane.

Even if the two merged, it would be impossible to return to the way things were. The True Creator knew this very well, which is why He had not chosen to merge with Adam all these years.

And if the former Sun God could return, everything would no longer be a problem.

But can he really return?

The True Creator didn't know. He just couldn't help but think of Roland, of this mysterious, dangerous guy who seemed to be able to bring miracles.

Perhaps the possibility of the Sun God's return lies with him.

This is also one of the reasons why the True Creator has repeatedly deepened cooperation with Roland, and even tried to comply with him on non-principle issues.

In addition to the reasons such as Roland summoning the Sun God can make Him more awake, appease the other party's emotions to avoid Roland being unhappy and destroying the world together, and borrowing the power of the past self to achieve certain purposes, the True Creator has put his posture so low in cooperation with Roland, a large part of the reason is because the True Creator saw the hope of the Sun God's return in Roland.

Although this hope is very slim, no matter what, it is better than not having any possibility at all.

“I also hope that the Lord can return.”

Uroboros said seriously, paused, and added:

“I believe the Lord can return. I will always wait, always wait, until that day comes.”

The True Creator seemed to sigh.

Uroboros lowered his eyes and began his daily prayers, as always.

Also the Land of the Forsaken—

Amon, who had been miserably “abandoned” after the gathering, was still staying in the original place at this moment. He sat there quietly, looking at the sun not far away.

To be honest, that round of sun was not as dazzling as the Eternal Blaze Sun outside, but for Amon, this little sun made by His father was much more pleasing to the eye than the one hanging in the sky outside.

Thanks to the good eyesight of the King of Angels, Amon could naturally see the people of Silver City who were busy under the sun. He knew that these people were busy spreading the deeds of that Lucifer, and they would change their beliefs and no longer believe in His father.

And this was obviously acquiesced to and even personally promoted by His father.

“But why, Father…” Amon was a little puzzled and didn't understand, but He didn't do anything because He respected the Sun God's decision.

Amon just continued to look up at that round of sun, just sitting there quietly, as if this way He could return to a long time ago.

So long ago that the Sun God had not yet fallen, and His world had not collapsed in an instant.

Just at this moment, Amon felt some movement beside Him. He turned his head, and as expected, he saw a familiar golden-haired priest.

“What should I call you now?” Amon raised his hand and pinched his monocle, looked at Adam in front of him, and curled his lips with a hint of sarcasm, “Brother or Father?”

Adam's golden eyes looked at Him, and Amon looked at Him, and suddenly froze for a moment.

Because Amon found that there seemed to be something more in Adam's golden eyes, which had always been devoid of emotion, something called emotion, although that trace of emotion was extremely faint, it was real.

Amon frowned almost subconsciously, wanting to avoid the other party's gaze, and then heard Adam's gentle voice:

“You can still treat me as your brother, Amon.”

“I know that except for that me, you will not recognize any me.”

… …

Backlund—

Klein, Azik, Medici, and “Jack Jones” were packaged and sent home, after all, the four of them lived together at the moment.

Like them, Reinette Tinekerr and the other three were also packaged and sent back. They were also together before attending the gathering of the Fools Club.

It's just that the landing points of the two waves of people after being sent back were different.

“Medici, I'm so hungry!” Roland, who was wearing Jack's vest, yawned. Even if his spirituality was as profound as his, he couldn't hold on after doing this series of things today. The whole person was struggling on the verge of falling asleep.

“Eat you to death!” Medici glanced at Roland and said unhappily, but he still walked directly towards the kitchen for dinner.

“Let me help too!” Azik also walked into the kitchen to help.

No mistake, one first, one hair, one inside, one capacity, one is in, one look, one look!

“Huh, didn't Mr. Lucifer come back with us?” Klein realized that there seemed to be one person missing in the house, and suddenly asked in confusion.

“The old guy still has to deal with the affairs of Silver City. He won't be back for the next few days.” Roland waved his hand, yawned again, and muttered, “So sleepy.”

Of course, he wouldn't tell Klein that he, wearing Lucifer's vest, had already found a place to prepare to catch up on sleep.

“Have you been staying up for a few days again?” Klein was not surprised to see Jack unable to open his eyes. After all, Jack was an old cultivator, and staying up all night was a daily routine, often making Klein worry that the other party would die suddenly if he wasn't careful.

“Three days?” Roland reported a number uncertainly.

“You should rest earlier next time, I'm really afraid you'll die suddenly if you continue like this.” Klein sincerely suggested.

“But knowledge is too tempting, I can't help it.” Roland rubbed his eyes and said.

Klein didn't know what to say, so he could only sigh and decided to put two wolfberries in the water that Jack drank next time.

Although it seems that there is no such thing in this era… Klein began to seriously recall what health-preserving medicinal materials there were in this era.

By the time Medici and Azik had finished cooking, Roland looked like he was in a state of sleepwalking. He finished dinner in a daze and went back to his room to catch up on sleep.

When Roland finally woke up, it was already afternoon the next day.

“Good evening! Where are Klein and the others?” Roland stretched his waist and went downstairs to find that only Azik was reading the newspaper in the house, and the others were nowhere to be seen.

“Klein took on a commission and seems to be protecting the client all night, so he won't be back today. I'm not too sure about Medici, but he left you a letter.” Azik put down the newspaper and handed over the folded letter on the coffee table.

Roland took the letter, opened it, and saw a line of words written on it: “Receive supplies, leave for a few days.”

Roland raised his eyebrows, and knew that this was the case—Medici should have gone to receive the supplies swindled from Intis, and after the other party received the supplies, they obviously had to deal with them and use the supplies where they should be used, so naturally they had to leave for a few days.
