#28 - Zeshia is full of treasures
"Huh?" Serena looked at Yarrow with a strange expression and subconsciously took a step back.
"I said, Uncle White, can you at least look at the occasion when you make such dirty jokes?" Yarrow helplessly rubbed his forehead.
"But if there's no audience reaction, wouldn't it be much less fun?" Boss White said with a chuckle, "Seeing you bring two such beautiful girls today, this old uncle is extremely jealous."
His gaze turned to Serena and Zexia behind her, but suddenly, he noticed the dragon horns on Zexia's head and the wings on her back, and his smile froze.
"This is White, the owner of this alchemy workshop. After getting divorced in middle age, he's been living alone and sexually repressed, so he likes to make all sorts of dirty jokes," Yarrow introduced to Serena beside him.
As an adventurer, Yarrow often comes here to buy some cheap recovery potions. Over time, he became familiar with him. Although White is quite sneaky, he never rips people off in transactions.
"Uh, hello, Boss White," Serena reached out and greeted White.
White squeezed out a smile at Serena, then quickly waved at Yarrow, signaling him to come over.
"What's wrong?" Yarrow came to the counter and got closer to White.
"That one over there, a Dragonborn?" White pointed to Zexia, who was playing with the armor at the entrance of the store, and said in a low voice.
"Can't you see such obvious features?" Yarrow looked at him in confusion.
"It's not that I can't see it, it's that I can't believe it! You're actually with a Dragonborn? And she's so beautiful!" White looked shocked, "Tell me, how did you do it? I'll give you free potions all year round."
"That's a long story, but why do you care so much?" Yarrow said.
"I'm just jealous!" White whispered.
"Do you know that every part of a Dragonborn's body is a treasure? Even their sweat is a great tonic! A small spoonful of Dragonborn sweat is worth this much!" White held up two fingers.
"Two Sike?"
"Sike? Gold Lang!"
Yarrow's eyes widened.
"And the purer the bloodline, the more expensive it is. A half-dragon with one-third bloodline can be worth four Gold Lang!"
"It's not just dragon sweat, there's also dragon blood, dragon saliva, dragon nails, dragon urine..."
Before he could finish speaking, there was a clanging sound from the entrance of the store.
The armor placed at the entrance was scattered all over the ground in front of Zexia, and she was still holding the helmet from it.
"Oh? Broke it," she threw the helmet aside and clapped the dust off her hands.
"Haha, it's okay, it's okay, I'll clean it up later," White said with a chuckle.
Then he looked at Yarrow again: "I'll just ask you one question, be honest with me, are you guys close? Is there any chance to get some materials?"
"You've really hit the nail on the head. Our relationship isn't bad, but it's also at the point where she wants to kill me at any time," Yarrow said, thinking of Zexia's negative affinity.
"That's a pity," White sighed and shook his head.
Yarrow had never thought that Zexia would have such wonderful uses. He was only concerned about how dangerous she was and forgot that dragons, as ultimate creatures, have every part of their body as the most precious alchemical material. Even the products from Dragonborn with some dragon blood are very rare. No wonder White is so excited.
If he knew that Zexia was not actually a Dragonborn, but a Dragon King with a true dragon bloodline, he would probably faint directly.
But the idea of profiting from Zexia, he felt, was still a bit difficult. He didn't know if there would be a chance in the future.
"By the way, what are you here for today?" White finally asked the real question.
Yarrow handed him the list that Serena needed.
"This time, I want to customize a set of equipment for refining potions and buy some potion materials," Yarrow said.
"Oh? You've started learning alchemy too?" White said in surprise, looking at the items on the list.
"It's not me, it's this one, Serena. Come over and talk to White," Yarrow said.
Serena stepped forward.
"The specific requirements are all noted above, but regarding the materials, please keep the roots of the Yellow Bud Aconite, and please help me crush the dried cowfish bones."
"Also, please use a copper stirring rod with a handle and a three-finger diameter."
"Oh, of course I know this. If it's too thin, it won't be effective when stirring, right?"
White told a very cold dirty joke, and Serena smiled stiffly.
These things would take some time to prepare, and White would hire someone to deliver them later.
After paying the deposit, they left the alchemy workshop.
"Next, let's go to the market to buy some food and daily necessities. Oh, and cake," Yarrow said.
"I remembered, there's something else we need to buy," Serena said at this time.
"What?"
"Books! Didn't you tell me last night that you wanted to brush up on magic studies? Then we need books with relevant knowledge," Serena said.
"That's true," Yarrow scratched his head, "Then let's go buy some textbooks first."
They came to Alexdria's city library, which is the largest library in the city, so it must have the books they need.
This was also Yarrow's first time here. After entering, he saw the magnificent interior of the library, which was like a large shopping mall.
They stood in the center of the hall, the floors above spiraling upwards, one layer stacked on top of another, each floor filled with rows of bookshelves, and at the very top was a large relief of the Creation, which looked incomparably sacred under the illumination of the luminous fluorite.
"This place is too big," Yarrow said, looking at the layers of floors.
"There are signs here," Serena pointed to the sign in the center of the hall.
She searched on it for a moment and looked up to say, "The magic teaching area is on the fourth floor, in the red cabinet area."
"You guys go find it, I'm tired and want to rest for a while," Zexia said, walking towards the row of sofas in the hall.
Yarrow and Serena went up to the fourth floor. Countless bookshelves were arranged on the circular floor, distinguished by the color of the bookshelves. They came to the red bookshelf area.
"Let's split up and look for them. Remember, we need two copies, 'Basics of Magic Element Reactions' and 'Complete Collection of Elementary Spells'," Serena said to him.
"Got it."
They separated and started searching.
Yarrow walked between rows of bookshelves, as if he had come to a forest of books, with the smell of ink and the wood of the bookshelves lingering in his nose.
"Basics of Magic Element Reactions, oh, found it."
He quickly saw this title printed on the spine of the book.
Just as he was about to take it, he suddenly saw the one next to it.
That book had no title on its spine. The dark red cover looked as if it was stained with blood and was extremely old. It seemed out of place among the new and intact books.
A bit mysterious.
Yarrow couldn't restrain his curiosity and pulled it down from the bookshelf.
It was very heavy in his hands. There was no title on the cover, only a chaotic drawing of a ram-headed demon using what looked like sketching techniques.
Yarrow swallowed. With this kind of routine, wouldn't he have gotten the kind of forbidden book that recorded powerful and mysterious terrifying content?
Maybe after opening it, a demon would appear and ask him to exchange his soul for powerful power.
He made psychological adjustments, mustered his courage, and opened the first page.
On the title page of the book, it was written in neat and ornate ancient language:
"This book has been marked as hardcore (official statement)"
"Please note that the content of this book is too hardcore and may cause nausea, dizziness, and other discomfort. It may also have a negative impact on your emotions. Therefore, we believe that this book is not suitable for viewing by anyone."
"If you still insist on deciding to watch, please bear the consequences after watching. If you have any discomfort, please stop watching immediately and seek help from a doctor in time."
It was a heavyweight from the start.
"Forbidden Love, Dark Tales of a Demon and a Priest in the Confessional!"
"Tags: * * Garden, Domination *, Hypnotism *, Pregnancy *, Older, Non-human"
Because Yarrow's reading speed was too fast, it was too late when his brain realized what he was reading.
"You bastard…"
