The vehicle was driving along Route 6. When passing the carriage in front, Ethan slowed down.

The bearded driver noticed that the vehicle next to him had slowed down and raised his hand to press his hat.

The curtains on the carriage window were opened, and the Amish girl smiled slightly, revealing an innocent face.

"Rebecca Bowman"

Ethan glanced at her calmly, increased the accelerator and drove forward.

A few minutes later, he turned the steering wheel and entered a private road. Walking a few hundred meters further, he came to a single-family house.

The house is about twenty meters away from the lake and is surrounded by trees. The small area around it is the private land left to Ethan by old Morgan.

Listening to the chirping of birds and looking at his own house in front of him, Ethan did not go back to the house after getting out of the car.

We walked to the small wooden pier by the lake and sat down cross-legged.

He took out a cigarette from his pocket and smoked it silently, staring at the sparkling lake in a daze.

The cigarette butt was pressed out on the wooden board, and Ethan exhaled a puff of smoke, as if saying goodbye to the past.

Turning his palm over, a glass tube filled with red liquid appeared in his palm.

He pulled out the soft stopper on the top of the glass tube and smelled it with his nose. There was no smell.

Without any further hesitation, he tilted his head and poured it into his mouth.

It's a bit spicy, like drinking Huoxiang Zhengqi water.

Just as he was savoring the taste, his tailbone seemed to be on fire, and a burning feeling ran along his spine and into the back of his head.

Suddenly, his whole body felt as hot as fire, and Ethan plunged into the lake with a "plop" without hesitation.

After soaking in the water for a long time, the burning feeling gradually disappeared.

Ethan gasped and swam ashore and took off all his clothes. Anyway, he had his own place nearby and he was not afraid of anyone seeing him.

After bouncing on the spot a few times, he felt that his body was extremely relaxed. His abdomen, which used to have some fat, now became clear-cut. He excitedly clenched his fists and punched the big tree next to him.

There was a muffled "bang" sound, and Ethan maintained his fist-pumping posture for a few seconds.

Feel the speed and power of the punch and the intense pain of the fist.

Looking at the broken skin on his knuckles, Ethan grinned.

Picking up the clothes thrown on the ground, he strode towards the house.

This is a typical American wooden house with a huge open kitchen next to the living room.

Further inside there are two rooms, one large and one small. The original owner stacked all the old objects in the small room.

The large room is fully equipped with all facilities, and you can directly see the lake scenery through the window next to the wooden bed.

After taking a shower, Ethan set the alarm clock on his bedside to seven o'clock in the evening, pulled up the quilt and fell asleep.

At night, Ethan stretched out his hand to turn off the piercing alarm clock. After stretching, he yawned and came to the living room.

Feeling his empty stomach, he opened the refrigerator. There was no food except beer and drinks, and the kitchen utensils in the kitchen were all dusty.

The original owner seemed to be an owner who never cooked, so he had to change his clothes and drive to the town.

A few minutes later, I looked at the neon lights above the houses on the roadside flashing the words "Davis Bar"

Ethan stopped the vehicle, opened the door and walked in.

There are several tables next to the old bar, and further inside is a pool table, and a coin-operated jukebox is placed against the wall.

The gray-haired black bartender was leisurely wiping the glass with a towel. It was still early and there was no one in the bar except the bartender.

Ethan found a seat at the bar, pulled out a high wooden chair and sat down.

The black bartender threw the towel over his shoulder and looked at him with interest.

"Are you a tourist?"

"Why do you say that?" Ethan touched the pulp-covered wooden bar.

The bartender raised his hand and nodded his head, "Please trust a bartender's memory. I know most of the people in this town."

"Ethan Morgan, the new Banshee Town police officer, will officially start work tomorrow."

"Candy Bates, the owner and bartender of this bar, just call me Candy."

Candy opened a glass, took down half a bottle of bourbon from the wine cabinet, poured some into it, and pushed the glass to Ethan.

"This cup belongs to the store, congratulations."

After Ethan thanked him, he took a careful sip and then drank it all.

After putting the cup down and signaling the candy to refill the wine, Ethan ordered a fried steak.

I have to say that the craftsmanship of the candy is quite good, and the steak was fried at just the right temperature.

Seeing the gold belt hanging on the wall, Ethan curiously pointed to the photo next to the belt with his knife. In the old photo, a strong black man wearing boxing gloves was punching his opponent.

Candy turned to look at the photo "That's me, in the lightweight boxing match."

Cutting off a piece of steak and chewing it slowly, Ethan asked curiously.

"How many rounds did it take?"

"It took him the eighth round to knock him down. He was a southpaw and needed more time to deal with it."

Candy's eyes lit up, "That was a title match. Do you know how long I held this belt?"

Ethan put down his knife and fork and looked at the candy.

"Eighteen months!" Candy said proudly.

He raised his glass and took a sip, paying homage to the candy.

I don't know if it was due to his improved physique, but Ethan drank a lot. After a few glasses of whiskey, he just felt his face was slightly hot.

As time went by, more and more people were in the bar. Ethan asked Candy to take away the plates, and while drinking, he looked at the people in the bar.

Next to the pool table, a blond beauty in a black short skirt held up a wine glass and danced gently with her long white legs to the music of the jukebox.

In a bar, such a beautiful woman is usually accompanied by many bees and butterflies.

But no one here came forward to strike up a conversation, only occasionally taking a sneak look.

When she turned around, Ethan realized that she was the Amish girl sitting in the carriage today, so he picked up the wine glass and motioned to her.

Candy saw his actions and warned in a low voice:

"Some women cannot be touched, like roses with thorns, even if you are a police officer."

Ethan said it doesn't matter, there is no need to worry if there are too many debts, and it is the same if there are too many troubles.

The Amish girl came over and sat down next to Ethan. Ethan motioned to Candy to pour her a glass of wine.

Candy shook her head helplessly, added wine to her glass, and went to greet other guests.

After Ethan chatted with her for a few words, the two exchanged names.

After drinking the wine in the glass, Ethan meaningfully extended an invitation to Rebecca.

"The air inside is a bit stuffy. Do you want to get some fresh air outside? My car is parked outside."

Rebecca looked at his handsome face, smiled, picked up her handbag and walked towards the door without saying anything.

Ethan quickly counted out a few bills, put them under the cup, and ran after them.

Half an hour later, the Ford F150 stopped shaking rhythmically. Ethan fell in love with this car. It was spacious enough and had good shock absorption effect.

After saying goodbye to Rebecca, he drove home. Tomorrow would be his first official day at work.
