Following Mary's route guidance, the Dodge Challenger drove quickly on the road.

Ethan grabbed the steering wheel and asked curiously: "What's wrong with your friend?"

Mary shook her head, "I don't know."

Ethan glanced at Mary with his peripheral vision, "What are you doing?"

She grabbed the box in her hand and said sheepishly:

"Strictly speaking, he is not my friend. He and I just met yesterday, just like you."

"At that time, he had an argument with someone in the medical team, and I went over to talk them away."

"I saw that his face was very pale, so I left him my business card and asked him to call me if he needed medical assistance."

"After you left just now, I received a call from his friend saying that he fainted."

Ethan changed lanes and followed her words and said:

"So you're going to help him now?"

Mary nodded, took out the cigarette case from her pocket, and after asking for Ethan's permission, she lit the cigarette.

Ethan tapped his fingers on the steering wheel a few times. "This sounds unbelievable. I think you know what I mean."

"The part about him fainting?"

Mary raised her eyebrows and looked at Ethan "Or is it the part about me helping strangers?"

Ethan turned the steering wheel, passed the car in front and said: "A little bit, please forgive me, because of my work, I have seen a lot of the ugliness of human nature."

"You went to free medical aid yesterday, I can tell you're a good guy."

"But you just met that person for the first time yesterday, so you went over to help him..."

When he said this, Ethan gripped the steering wheel tightly and pursed his lips.

He remembered what happened to him yesterday. It was an unknown stranger who pushed him. Otherwise, he would have been seriously injured even if he didn't die. Why should he question other people's kindness now?

When thinking of this, Ethan felt his face getting a little hot.

Mary didn't notice his little movement. After exhaling a puff of smoke, she said slowly: "My father passed away when I was very young."

"My mother also has certain mental disorders. She rarely communicates with outsiders."

"I have been able to reach this point with the help of many people, so I have also made a vow to myself to help others as much as possible within my ability."

"Many people don't understand what I do and think I'm too stupid."

Mary shook her head to herself, and then gave a wry smile.

Ethan turned his head to look at her and said seriously:

"No, you must not care about what others think. What you did is absolutely right."

"Really?" Mary raised her head and looked at him confused.

Ethan nodded heavily, "Actually, I want to apologize for what I just said."

"I shouldn't have questioned your kindness just now. I feel ashamed of myself."

"Yesterday when I came to your clinic to see you, a small accident happened. It was a stranger who helped me, and now I can sit here and chat with you."

Ethan turned his head again, smiled at Mary and said:

"You're right and I'm wrong."

"No, we are both right." Mary responded with a smile: "Aren't you helping me, a stranger, now?"

Ethan shrugged his shoulders, "I just covet your beauty and want to find a chance to get to know you."

Mary burst out laughing when she heard what he said.

After more than ten minutes, the Dodge Challenger slowed down.

After Ethan pulled over and parked the car, Mary picked up the small box in her hand and wanted to get out of the car.

"Wait a moment."

Ethan took her hand, then turned off the engine and unbuckled the seat belt.

Looking at Mary's puzzled eyes, Ethan said:

"No matter where this is, you don't think I'm going to let you go alone, do you?"

Mary looked at Ethan with a touch of emotion, then took out a can of anti-wolf spray from her pocket and said proudly:

"Don't think I'm a fool, I have this."

Ethan smiled and lifted his coat.

There was a silver revolver stuck in the holster under his arm. The 6-inch barrel was chilling.

He raised his eyebrows at Mary. "I have this."

Mary then remembered Ethan's identity and had to put the anti-wolf spray back into her pocket angrily.

After getting off the car, Ethan looked at the signboard above. It was obvious that this was a pub.

The two looked at each other, and Mary nodded, confirming that this was the place.

It's still early, the pub isn't open yet, and there's a small sign on the door saying it's not open.

Ethan walked to the glass door of the tavern, raised his hand and patted it hard several times.

"Bang bang bang"

The door frames collided, making a muffled sound.

After a while, the bamboo curtain covering the glass door was lifted, and a man wearing a floral shirt and a high nose appeared behind the glass door.

He grabbed his messy long hair, spread his hands, and said through the glass door:

"Man, we're not open here yet. You can come back later."

Mary squeezed Ethan away, stood in front of the door and said anxiously:

"Hello, I'm a doctor. I just received a call for help."

Hua Shirt glanced at Ethan, then looked at Mary, and asked:

"Are you Dr. Mary Sebastian? What about him?"

"He's with me."

Mary responded while lifting the box in her hand. If the other party didn't let Ethan in, she wouldn't be stupid and turned around and left.

"come in."

After hesitating for a moment, Hua Shirt reached out and opened the door, allowing the two of them to walk into the tavern.

After they all entered, several people stood still and looked at each other.

"Why are you all looking at me?"

Flowery Shirt saw Ethan and Mary both staring at him and spread his hands.

"Where is the patient?"

Mary asked helplessly.

The flowery shirt slapped his forehead heavily and said sheepishly:

"Upstairs, follow me."

Then he walked towards the stairs behind the tavern, and Mary glanced at Ethan worriedly.

Ethan nodded to her, then took the lead and walked in front of Mary.

When going up the stairs, Ethan put his hands under his armpits while paying attention to the movement around him.

Following the flower shirt to the second floor, he came to a room at the end of the corridor, pushed the door open, and walked in.

Ethan quickly followed. It was a small room with an unobstructed view. There was a bed and a sundry rack.

The flowered shirt leaned against the utility rack and stretched out his hand towards the bed.

"He is here. I don't know what happened to him. I found him fainted on the ground this morning."

Lying on the bed was a man in a black suit, without even taking off his shoes.

Ethan walked in and took a look, blinking in surprise.

The hand stretched out into his arms couldn't help but relax. The person lying on the bed was the person who rescued him at the door of the clinic yesterday.

His hair was short and his face was pale, as if he hadn't been in the sun for a long time.

At this time, Mary squeezed out from behind him and quickly opened the box in her hand.

After taking out some simple medical tools from the box, she examined the man who fainted on the bed.
