The calm was gone again. Things became very chaotic. Sword Two rushed in through the crowd and went to Gu Chaoyan's side, whispering anxiously, "Elder Miss, something is wrong, monsters hurt people again!"

Gu Chaoyan stiffened and turned pale. Monsters were constantly hurting people in the capital as she had predicted. The court had made no arrangements, and things would become even worse.

She needed to speak to the King about this.

He kept thinking about his world, but if he did not deal with it now, the capital would be overrun and the court would be lost. She wondered what kept the King indoors.

"Where are the wounded? How many are there?" Gu Chaoyan asked Sword Two.

"On the avenue, soon they will be transferred here. We arrived too late to catch the monsters. We don't know where they are. They are coming out to hurt people and yet the court is sending no one out. No one is patrolling on the street. We already told the civilians not to go out in case they get injured," Sword Two said.

Well…

The Shadow Door also made some arrangements, but Sword Two did not speak of that. He just told her what he was supposed to.

Gu Chaoyan's face sank.

Just as she had predicted, many wounded people covered in blood were carried in. Some were alive, some were not. Outside the clinic, civilians kept asking Gu Chaoyan why she could not give them blessings as the Phoenix Girl, but was instead giving them so much trouble.

Sword One and Sword Two stopped those civilians.

Many people were injured and the chaos would slow her down.

Monsters had no conscience. They tore apart people whenever they saw some. Those wounded people were crippled, and Gu Chaoyan could do nothing but save their lives.

A few hours later, those who could survive lived on, but Gu Chaoyan felt really tired.

This was not going to work.

Almost every civilian in the capital would be injured, since monsters kept hurting people in this way. And she would have to save every one of them.

The court needed to arrange forces to defend against the monsters.

Gu Chaoyan walked out of the clinic, with a very cold expression on her face. She ignored those interrogating civilians, and climbed into the wagon directly. Those people stopped themselves from approaching her, upon seeing her cold gaze.

The wagon headed directly into the court.

The most bustling street in the capital was empty. It used to hold many people and wagons could not get through, but today, the street was empty. Soon, she came to the gate of the court.

The King already gave her a special order so she could come into the court without an authority token or summoning order. That was very convenient for Gu Chaoyan.

She had just passed the gate… when Gu Chaoyan saw a very familiar figure.
