Gu Zhenkang looked at Xiu Jie, telling him to pass on the message again.

Xiu Jie's face twisted. He had no idea what made Officer Gu this confident that whatever he raised would move Elder Miss. Did he really think that Gu Mansion was a wonderful place?

Despite what he was thinking inwardly, Xiu Jie still passed on the message. He was a servant. He could not decide what his master wanted. So he just did what he was required to do.

However, he would not allow anyone to walk into the mansion without Elder Miss' permit. So Gu Zhenkang and his men were waiting outside, whilst he went inside to pass on the message.

Gu Chaoyan, who was drinking tea, got quite surprised when Xiu Jie showed up again with a message. What on earth was going on here?

She asked Xiu Jie to come in and asked Qing to serve him a cup of hot tea.

The servants had turned down this invitation when they first came to the mansion with Elder Miss, but after spending some time at Xinlin Mansion, they were used to Elder Miss' personality and habits, so they were used to it. It did not matter if they behaved a little bit less like a servant every now and then, because they knew that Elder Miss was truly concerned about them.

"Elder Miss, Officer Gu is still at the gate. He asked me to pass on a message to you, saying that he wants you to come back to his mansion and offers you what an Elder Miss deserves to have. And he needs to have a face-to-face talk with you." Xiu Jie repeated.

Gu Chaoyan frowned.

Gu Zhenkang again.

She had already told him to leave and yet he was still insisting?

Did he really believe that she wanted the status as the Elder Miss of the Gu Family? She had made many efforts to get rid of the Gu Family and now the Gu Family was trying to get her back, again?

Shame on him.

He looked down at Ms. Lin and Gu Chaoyan, and if he insisted, Gu Chaoyan would find him interesting, but all he did was look noble whilst pursuing interests for himself.

He was trying his best to bring himself the biggest profits on all occasions.
