#271 - Chapter 271 Triple Gate, Blood-Red Mist

The armory of the Divine Sword Manor was its core, located past the entrance and down a corridor lined with shelves displaying numerous weapons.

Li Ergou scanned the area with his divine sense, finding that most of the weapons were merely ordinary items, which held no interest for him.

Continuing deeper, he soon noticed the weapon racks becoming sparser and larger.

Gradually, low-grade magical weapons began to appear: Wind Fire Blades, Cold Sparrow Blades, Wild Goose Blades, Snow Jade Swords, Water Fire Staves, and a variety of other low-grade magical items, numbering over a dozen types. It was the first time Li Ergou had seen so many blades and swords, totaling hundreds.

These weapons would undoubtedly fetch a high price if sold outside.

However, Li Ergou didn't have time to examine them; he was searching for items specifically crafted by the Candle Dragon Cult. The deeper he went, the more disappointed he became. At the far end of the hall, there were only two mid-grade magical weapons.

To his surprise, a massive iron gate stood at the hall's deepest point. The gate was thick and black, clearly extraordinary. He wondered what lay behind it.

Based on his assessment, the Divine Sword Manor was no ordinary place and surely possessed more than just these low-end items.

Therefore, there might be a pleasant surprise behind this iron gate.

Filled with curiosity, he directed his divine sense toward the iron gate. The gate was solid but lacked any restrictive formations, making it unable to withstand the power of his divine sense.

His divine sense found a gap and slipped inside.

To his surprise, there were three layers of iron gates, each weighing ten thousand pounds. Each gate required a special key to open; otherwise, it would be impossible to pass.

Fortunately, his divine sense was incredibly powerful, allowing him to break through each gate.

Unexpectedly, after passing the third gate, a massive bronze door appeared ahead.

Strangely, this door was a single, seamless piece, without even a crack. How was he supposed to enter?

He pondered what valuable items the Divine Sword Manor possessed that required such protection.

Anyone would know that there must be something good inside.

However, when he approached the bronze door, it suddenly shimmered, and a restrictive formation abruptly activated and became visible.

Li Ergou was slightly stunned, not expecting the Divine Sword Manor to have such measures. Damn it, although his divine sense was strong, he couldn't break through the barrier with it. It seemed he had to enter physically.

With that thought, he withdrew his divine sense, returning to his body in an instant.

Unbeknownst to him, on the other side of the door, something shrouded in blood-red mist stirred slightly. A pair of blood-red eyes suddenly opened, as if it had sensed something.

But when Li Ergou's divine sense dissipated, the creature returned to stillness, motionless.

At that moment, Li Ergou's divine sense returned, and he saw Chen Bajin still negotiating with the two constables. Unfortunately, the two constables were unyielding; even if Chen Bajin argued until the end of time, they wouldn't budge without Bai Su's warrant.

Seeing this, Li Ergou pondered for a moment and said to Chen Bajin, "Brother Ba, don't make things difficult for the brothers. Let's go somewhere else for now."

Chen Bajin looked at Li Ergou, not understanding his intentions, but he didn't say much. He simply raised his middle finger at Zhang Laojiu and the others before leaving.

He came to Li Ergou's side, somewhat puzzled, and asked, "What's going on?"

Li Ergou said, "It's difficult to get in there. Let's not disturb it for now. We'll find a chance to go in later."

"How do you know?" Chen Bajin asked curiously.

Li Ergou didn't speak but instead moved his mind, and his divine sense swept over Chen Bajin like a tidal wave. Chen Bajin immediately felt an incredibly terrifying pressure.

Chen Bajin felt as if he were no longer facing Li Ergou but an unfathomable old monster. The terrifying pressure made him want to kneel.

This feeling sent chills down his spine.

He widened his eyes, looking at Li Ergou in disbelief, and said, "What's going on? What's going on? Ergou, you're not hiding your cultivation, trying to play the fool, are you?"

Li Ergou chuckled and said, "What are you thinking? This is just my ability. What I want to tell you is that my divine sense is incredibly powerful, and I've seen almost everything inside."

Chen Bajin frowned and said, "Unbelievable, how could this be? Are you practicing some kind of heretical art? Tell me quickly."

Li Ergou smiled wryly and vaguely said that the reason his divine sense was so powerful was because he had gone to a mysterious place, but he couldn't tell him about it yet. Chen Bajin felt resentful but could do nothing.

He just knew that Li Ergou had another adventure following the colorful carp.

Li Ergou then told him what he had seen with his divine sense.

After hearing this, Chen Bajin became even more interested. The two talked as they went to find Bai Su.

At that moment, Bai Su was standing on the plaza of the Divine Sword Manor. In the plaza, there was a huge statue of a naked man holding a large sword and roaring at the sky.

Li Ergou looked at the statue and said in slight surprise, "Oh, who is this? So mighty. Could he be the founder of the Divine Sword Manor?"

Chen Bajin nodded and said, "You guessed it. It's him, known as Iron-Willed Divine Sword Zhao Wuxuan. He was incredibly powerful, righteous, and famous throughout Baojing Prefecture."

The two talked as they arrived behind Bai Su.

Bai Su turned around, looked at Li Ergou and Chen Bajin, and casually asked, "Where have you two been? Did you find any useful clues?"

Li Ergou naturally wouldn't mention the armory, but only said, "We just took a walk. Nothing useful. How about you, sir?"

Bai Su shook her head and said, "It's very strange. The demonic aura is strong, but I can't find the source. It seems I can only wait until tonight."

Hearing this, Li Ergou quickly said, "In that case, why don't we go to the market first?"

Bai Su glanced at him and said, "Such a serious thing happened here, and you're still in the mood to go to the market?"

Li Ergou didn't care and said, "Hey, the dead can't be brought back to life. We should just try our best to avenge them. We can't let it stop us from doing what we need to do. Maybe when we come back, the time will be right."

Bai Su stared at Li Ergou with her watery eyes for a moment and said, "Something's not right, Li Ergou. You must be hiding something from me."

Li Ergou was startled, thinking that Bai Su was too powerful.

At that moment, the light in Bai Su's eyes became sharper. Li Ergou sighed, feeling that he had no choice but to tell her.
