Monster Pet Evolution

233 Putting on a Show

The Aquatic Dragon wandered around in the fog, its body looking blurry. Only its scales and claws could occasionally be seen.

A person in the military district of Yuzhou City picked up a call. He didn't dare act slowly. "Emergency message. Ji Hanwu's Aquatic Dragon is breaking through to a higher tier."

"The Aquatic Dragon is having a breakthrough? It should be around the highest level of the Lord-tier. If it breaks through, it'll reach the Emperor-tier…"

There was a period of silence. Some people were in deep contemplation. Others were starting to wonder about the consequences of this development.

Although the relationship between the Southern Sky Group and the Yuzhou government seemed good on the surface, they even cooperated with the military. At the end of the day, Ji Hanwu wasn't a figure in the military or the government.

Ji Hanwu was the Southern Sky Group's chairman.

Ji Hanwu was also the reason why the Southern Sky Group was able to be so influential and act as independently as it did. The protection the Aquatic Dragon offered to the city was the reason the delicate situation there could be maintained.

And according to rumors, half of the city's population's first name was Ji!

The influence Ji Hanwu and the Southern Sky Group had over Yuzhou City was obvious.

One of the senior officers frowned. He thought for a while and said, "Ji Hanwu is from Yuzhou, and he's one of us."

"Ji Hanwu is actually all right. At least he doesn't throw his weight around. Besides, he's quite respectful of the military," a younger senior officer said.

Besides him, another slightly older senior officer laughed. "That's only because you don't what kind of person Ji Hanwu is. It isn't that he doesn't respect the military, but because he's smart. If you knew what he did in the past, you would know he isn't a benevolent person."

The discussion went on for a while longer, but they couldn't reach a consensus. In the end, everyone turned their attention to three people. The three of them were the real authority of the military in Yuzhou. They were also the people who had the final say when making decisions.

The three of them were sitting in a row. The person on the left was an old man with white hair and a mustache above his upper lip. His eyes were close together. He looked very calm, though everybody was looking at him. The old man said slowly, "There are pros and cons if we choose to deal with Ji Hanwu. We still have the ability to suppress him right now. Although Lord-tier monsters are strong, it's still possible to defeat them. However, once it goes up to the Emperor-tier, the situation will be much harder to manage.

"I'm familiar with Ji Hanwu. We've crossed paths quite a few times before. If we really want to take action against him, we need to employ a blitzkrieg tactic to quickly end the fight. Otherwise, we will have to face his wrath."

The people in the room were puzzled. The old man had said so much, but none of them were clear about whether he wanted to take action or not.

"Now is the best time to strike. If we miss this opportunity, who knows how long we'll have to wait again."

"What the hell are you guys thinking? We haven't even finished dealing with the monsters outside, and now you want to start a fight among ourselves?" said a man on the far right of the room. He was about 30 years old. His eyes had the look of an eagle's, and his skin was a dark red color. When he finished speaking, he got up and angrily left the room.

The room went silent. Someone said softly, "Long Xing left."

"Really… this fellow always has an attitude problem. Just because he has a strong familiar…"

A middle-aged general who sat in the middle said, "That's enough. A decision has been made. Everyone is to follow orders and not interfere. Anyone who does so will be court-martialed." He got up and left the room after he finished speaking.

The middle-aged general left the room with a tired expression on his face. Someone behind him ran after him and called out, "Sir!"

"What is it?" The middle-aged general's tone didn't sound pleasant.

"Sir. I have an opinion. I agree that we're not in a position to act, but can we find someone to take action for us? We can leak the information of Ji Hanwu's familiar. There are definitely people out there who don't want Ji Hanwu's familiar to break through," he said while smiling carefully.

Wang Hongming looked at the man with a blank expression, then patted him on the shoulder and asked, "What's your name?"

"Sir, my name is Li Liang." The man quickly gave a salute.

Wang Hongming laughed and gave Li Liang a profound look without saying anything. "That's enough. Go back. Stop thinking about leaking the information. There's no one in Yuzhou City who would dare touch Ji Hanwu."

...

Gao Peng couldn't see what was happening outside because of the fog. He could only hear the White Dragon's moans. It sounded quite terrifying, and when he saw the dragon, it looked like it was in pain.

The Southern Sky Group's headquarters was flanked by a mountain at its back. The villa was located in the suburbs. Yuzhou City had been built entirely on top of mountains, so the entire city was surrounded by endless mountains.

A dark figure emerged from the sky, a Multi-colored Giant Tiger. It was three feet tall and five feet long. It stood on the foothills and looked down on the White Dragon below.

Five feet didn't sound very long, but when seen up close, it was longer than some cars.

When the Multi-colored Giant Tiger looked down on the White Dragon who was in the process of evolving, its eyes were full of greed. However, it was a bit hesitant. As it had a naturally cunning personality, it was very suspicious of what it was seeing.

The Multi-colored Giant Tiger was a Lord-tier monster that lived in the wild. However, its interaction with certain people had allowed it to hear news of a White Dragon breaking through. When it heard the news, it had eagerly rushed over.

Monsters with dragon blood were a great dietary supplement for it! But it was suspicious of whether or not this was a trap.

The Multi-colored Giant Tiger thought humans were deceitful. After it had been captured and placed inside a zoo for three years, it had learned that humans weren't to be trusted!

Inside the fog, the White Dragon had become aware of the presence of the Multi-colored Tiger. It gulped secretly. It suddenly had to put in even more effort.

It kept tossing, turning, and moaning inside the fog.

Groan…

Groaaan…

Roarrrr…

Gao Peng felt like something was off. This sound. Why does this sound like… it sounds like a husky?!

It can't be! I must be mistaken!

This made Gao Peng feel confused. In his mind, the White Dragon was a proud and mighty dragon. That notion was being challenged by what he was hearing.

On the mountain peak, the Multi-colored Giant Tiger perked its ears and listened carefully. Its eyeballs stared at the White Dragon below as its body suddenly arched and made an action that showed it was prepared to pounce.

The White Dragon below didn't notice. It just continued to roll around in the fog, making moaning sounds, and occasionally making banging sounds by smashing against the mountain walls.

The Multi-colored Giant Tiger suddenly halted in its pouncing stance and returned to its position on the mountain looking beneath. Its eyes showed a crafty look.

It stuck out its tongue and licked its lips. The Multi-colored Giant Tiger kept staring at the bottom.

Emm? Why did the sound disappear?

The Multi-colored Tiger felt uncertain. It wanted to go and see what was happening.

When it looked down, a pair of orange eyes the size of water tanks were staring at it.

The White Aquatic Dragon clung tightly to the mountainside and stared at the tiger quietly.

It was an awkward situation.

The Multi-colored Giant tiger was full of questions, Weren't you in the process of evolving just now? How did you finish evolving so quickly?

The White Dragon smiled fakely. Do you know how tiring it was to keep roaring?"

"Aaahhh!" The sounds of a screaming tiger filled the air.

Three of the White Dragon's claws were deeply embedded into the skull of the Multi-colored Giant Tiger.

In the air, a White Dragon held the Multi-tiger Giant Tiger in its claws, then forcefully ripped it in two!

The spilled blood stained the Aquatic Dragon's claws, causing them to turn red and white.

It was extremely eye-catching!
