Panda Novel

Alex was caught off guard but he quickly fled with Instant Slip-Away.

Under normal circumstances, if a character kept running, the Fire Elf would not be able to keep up its SPD. Alex was hit only because Chen Yang triggered the Ignite effect.

[Ignite: Adds 60% of player’s attributes to their pet for 30 seconds. Cool down period: 10 minutes.]

With Fire Elf’s SPD increased, it quickly kept up with Alex’s pace, pulling another Fire Fist punch.

Although Fire Elf’s SPD may be quite slow, its ATK range was 20-yards. Although this was far shorter than an Archer or Wizard class, it was still quite a distance compared to those pure melee classes such as Warriors.

Alex took another hit, a Critical Hit to be exact. [-1,578] damage appeared over his head.

At the same time, Chen Yang was assaulted by Galaxite, torched by a few fireballs which reduced his HP to roughly 1,000.

Alex raised his staff up high, casting the Summoner’s class most powerful skill called Phantom Footprints.

[Phantom Footprints: Dodge every attack for 12 seconds. Cool down period: 3 minutes.]

Fire Elf was striking Alex continuously, yet the word Immune kept popping up. It was Phantom Footprints at work.

Phantom Footprints was a skill that could be learned at the early stages of the Summoner class, hence it was available for all three paths. If Alex could use it, so could Chen Yang.

“Phantom Footprints!”

Chen Yang utilized Phantom Footprints to reduce the pressure. He ignored Galaxite and sought after Alex instead.

This was the battle strategy Li Yi has taught him. To leave the pet alone and kill its owner!

With Ignite effect gone now, Fire Elf resumed to its slow moving pace. It could no longer keep up with Alex. Chen Yang relied on a pair of SPD +10 shoes (a loan from Li Yi) to stick to Alex, leaving no gap in between.

Pft!

Fatty raised his staff up high, as he stuck to Alex while summoning another Fire Elf. With the emergence of a new Fire Elf, the old Fire Elf immediately turned to dust. The new Fire Elf threw a punch at Alex, inflicting over 700 damage.

Alex continued running with Chen Yang still close up his butt. It did not matter even if Fire Elf could not keep up, he could summon it as many times as he wanted. As long as he kept a close distance to Alex, the strategy was working.

Sure, Galaxite’s ATK was high, but prior to a Summoner reaching Level 90, they were limited from commanding their pets at will. The most they could do was issue simple commands such as Rest, Attack and Defend. Perhaps Chen Yang was running too fast, Galaxite was having a hard time catching up to him. In the end, it stopped running and resorted to spewing fireballs.

Chen Yang was moving around Alex, dodging most of the fireballs coming from Galaxite. The effects of a Tier 1 equipment set was the only thing preventing his mana from running out, aiding him in sticking onto Alex while simultaneously summoning Fire Elves repeatedly.

“I block, I block, I block!”

Fatty’s PK strategy was devious. Taking advantage of his swift SPD, he ran to the front of Alex and blocked him with his body, causing him to slow down.

Alex was not able to endure the pressure for long. His HP was at the bottom of the barrel and about to take the plunge. Chen Yang kept his cool, knowing victory would be in the bag if kept up the pace, sure and steady.

“Infusion!”

When Alex’s HP reached zero, a string of blood beads flew from Galaxite’s body into his own.

Full HP recovered!

Converting 20% of a summoned beast’s HP to own HP, this was a Contract Summoner’s signature move, Infusion!

Of course, since the upper limit of his HP was 4,100, the most he could recover was 4,100.

Chen Yang still stuck closely to Alex. He had already predicted this move so he was not too surprised. He still kept to the designated strategy to keep Alex close to him.

Infusion could only be used once every five minutes. So, if Alex’s HP were to be reduced to zero again, death was imminent.

“Come out, Thunder Hawk!”

Alex was chanting incantations, while raising his staff up high. A pentagram formation appeared on the ground.

A Contract Summoner could change pets in battle at will. Similar to an Archer, there was a channeling period during the exchange.

The channeling period would not be disrupted when being attacked but could be stopped with a CC skill.

All three paths of Summoners were not proficient with CC skills or else Alex would not risk summoning his second pet while Chen Yang was hot on his tail.

“You’re out of luck! Compound Elements!”

Chen Yang yelled out loud, merging his body with Fire Elf’s. He was now Fire Elf and Fire Elf was he.

Fire Elf’s HP surged to 120,000 while its ATK doubled.

Chen Yang smashed Alex with Fire Fist. It only took three blows to crush Alex…

Victory!

Chen Yang easily took down Alex, the strongest summoner, winning the most crucial round.

“Bang!”

Arthur’s orange scepter broke to pieces, disappearing forever. At the same time, Li Yi’s mailbox lit up. 10,000,000 Gold Coins was deposited into account!

Arthur was utterly dumbfounded. He looked at both his hands in disbelief.

Chen Yang was overjoyed. He deactivated his compounded state and struck a victory pose at the base of the dragon bones, basking in the screams of Orc chicks and the howling cheers of many.

No one resurrected Alex. He himself had to run his corpse back here…

“Arthur, I…”

“Smack!”

Arthur did not care for Alex’s explanations. He raised his hand for another tight slap.

“You cost me!”

“Arthur, …”

Arthur pointed his trembling finger at Alex, “You had a Level 60 Thunder Hawk, yet you did not use it, you went for a Level 20 Galaxite instead. Al, you’re treacherous, indeed treacherous.”

Alex’s face turned ash gray. He never thought it would turn out this way. He had been calculating Chen Yang’s every move to ensure he was absolutely certain of the situation before summoning a second pet. He would have never guessed that Chen Yang had a trump card, Compound Element.

“I didn’t know he knew Compound. You never told me, I… I really didn’t know Natural Summoners knew of such a skill.”

Arthur bit his lip, not knowing what to say anymore.

He was indeed a closed beta player but that ended before he reached Level 90. It was only for a year. He was not even proficient with every skill of an Arcanist below Level 90, let alone other classes…

A Natural Summoner that knew Compound? Why did he not know about it?

Arthur was pissed to the point his body was quivering.

“It’s all your fault. If you were to summon Thunder Hawk from the get-go, he would have never won regardless whether he knew Compound or not. Al, you’re not the person I thought you were, scram!”

Arthur’s shout echoed to the skies above the dragon bones.

Alex kept his head down, utterly silent. He turned and left.

“Brother Yi, I did great, didn’t I?” Chen Yang ran over, immensely pleased with himself.

“So-so.”

Watching Alex’s receding figure, Li Yi could not wrap his head around the fact he chose to use Galaxite first over Thunder Hawk.

Thunder Hawk, Frost Tiger, Light Lion. These three boss pets were the true strength of Alex.

“Thunder Hawk’s that good?” Chen Yang was not comfortable being called so-so for his performance.

It was then, a hoarse screech was heard. A giant pale blue hawk with electricity flashing around it appeared before everyone’s eyes. Alex gently leapt on to its back and Thunder Hawk flapped its wings to fly away…

“F*ck me, that’s Thunder Hawk?” Chen Yang’s jaw dropped.

A battle pet that could carry a person on its back?

“Yeap.”

Li Yi’s frown lines deepened. He miscalculated this time. He did not think that the current Alex would already have Thunder Hawk.

Chen Yang chuckled, “I may not lose even if he uses Thunder Hawk, I can just take him down with me.”

Li Yi laughed out loud, “The outcome is hard to predict but never mind that, we won!”

It was chaos down below the dragon bones. Those who won were of course, happy but those who lost were bawling their eyes out.

Li Yi has been paid his winnings. He placed his bet in Autumn Love’s betting house but he did not bet on that deceiving double winning option, instead he bet on winning rounds and collected over 30 million RMB!

It was then, players who played the double winning in Autumn Love’s betting house were stupefied because they found that they paid less than what they betted.

“What the hell? I bet ten thousand Gold Coins and won two rounds. F*ck me, you only gave me eight thousand Gold Coins? I won yet I lost money? It doesn’t make any sense?”

“Me too! I won two rounds and bet 100,000 yet I only got 80,000 in return. Isn’t this bullshit? How shady is this banker?”

“Oh please, did you read the rules on double winning? It clearly states that it’s a balanced bet and the banker will not lose any capital and will take a sum of interest. The number of people who betted on Dark Wing was way past the 70% mark, so whatever you’re getting is good enough,” Autumn Love personally came out to explain.

“F*ck, how shady, I call scam…”

“Shady Autumn, fraud!”

“Give me back my money! I’m not playing anymore. I lost money even when I won the bet? This is absurd!”

The players below were hot with emotions, wanting to reason with their respective camps. Of course, thus began chaos between camps. The earlier balance was destroyed and the players from three camps were beating each other up.

A major war among a multitude of five million, thus erupted.

“Retreat, Little Drunk Cat, and all brothers of Iron Alliance, retreat. Don’t engage in this meaningless battle.”

Li Yi issued this order as he rode on Horned Griffin to fly away. As for Arthur whose orange scepter was destroyed, he bore a Life’s but a Walking Shadow title on top of his head. He foolishly stood on the Bone of Proto-dragon, as still as a statue…

Li Yi’s party has won this battle but Li Yi knew clearly in his heart that Arthur would not let this matter rest. His revenge, was due to come.

‘Bring it, bring it on! The quicker the better. Come at me one more time and you will never see the light of day!’

“Brother Yi, when you were going against Arthur, you were hit with that Knights’ Round Table thingy. Why didn’t you die? Where did you go?” Chen Yang closed in with his Horned Griffin to ask a question.

“Easy, I used a combined skill.”

“What combined skill?”

“Camouflage with Keep Going If Alive.”
