Miracle Pill Maker Bullies the Boss



Shangguan Hou was still on the phone. When he looked up, he saw Huo Yao exiting the small building.

His voice promptly paused. He quickly retreated by a couple of steps and concealed himself.

After stepping out of the building, Huo Yao retrieved a mask and put it on. She also pulled down her hoodie. With her slightly wavy bangs pressed down against her forehead, her eyes could not be seen fully, making it impossible to see her face at all.

The sky had turned dark and the streetlamps were on. Before long, she disappeared down the street.

Shangguan Hou walked out still holding his phone to his ear and talking. He looked in the direction Huo Yao had disappeared and pondered before changing his tone over the phone. "Don't bother sending men over. Also, get the security team to reduce one-third of the base security."

"Why?" asked the person over the phone quizzically.

"Just do as I say. I know what I'm doing." Shangguan Hou did not bother explaining his decision.

"Okay then. But I still have to report this to the higher-ups." The voice on the phone paused and continued. "Someone just infiltrated the base. If we reduce security, the intruder might escape."

Shangguan Hou was unsurprised to hear this. He quickly pondered to himself. Shangguan Yu would not attempt to enter the base out of the blue. She must have a good reason to do so.

So, he could already almost guess the intruder's identity.

A cold smile swept across Shangguan Hou's face. Sure enough, she was as cocky as ever.

This was perfect. He no longer needed to exert effort to find her himself.

Before long, Shangguan Hou hung up the phone and released his little pet again.

After he was done, he went back to the base.

Huo Yao found her way to the base entrance using her memory.

The entrance consisted of an ancient-looking mountain gate that completely cut off the small town. Array formation and other mechanisms were placed at the entrance. The moment an intruder made any mistakes, the people inside would know. Also, lethal booby traps would get triggered.

The mechanisms at the gate were far better than she remembered many years ago.

However, Huo Yao simply looked at the stone entrance calmly and did not seem worried.

A few seconds later, she walked up in front of the stone gate. There were engravings on the door, but in reality, they consisted of movable parts. She swiftly moved them around as though she was playing with a Rubik's cube and turned them into a five-point star.

A click could be heard.

The stone door opened.

Huo Yao pursed her lips. If the array formation and mechanisms in Misty Forest could be easily replicated, the Shangguan clan would be gone by now.

She quickly darted inside.

After she entered, the stone door automatically closed behind her. Before it closed completely, a gray shadow suddenly darted in behind her quietly.

Huo Yao did not detect its presence at all.

She was simply preoccupied with thinking about entering the base, finding the target, and verifying if it was Shangguan Tong in under 30 minutes.

Otherwise, considering someone's personality, it was impossible to make her surface even if Huo Yao bombed Mirage Base.

Before long, Huo Yao entered the base periphery.

A cuboid-shaped building with soft lines could be seen in front of her. It looked very futuristic and advanced. It was worlds apart from the small town outside.

She would immediately get shot at until she was like a honeycomb by the lasers placed in various locations.
