Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#6 - Mr. and Mrs. Potter
"Alright, Anduin, we've spent quite a bit of time picking out a wand. Next, we need to hurry and buy the other equipment. Reading M," Professor McGonagall said to Anduin, looking at the sky.
"Yes, Professor."
Next, accompanied by Professor McGonagall, Anduin went to Scribbulus Writing Implements and bought enough parchment, ink, and several quills. He also purchased a cauldron, wizard robes, and a complete set of textbooks needed for school at Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, Flourish and Blotts, and Potage's Cauldron Shop.
Anduin also bought an owl and pet food. He always found owls to be cheap and funny-looking.
Before long, a considerable amount of time had been spent in Diagon Alley, and the evening sunset was shining down.
"Let's stop here, Anduin. The things you need for school have basically been purchased. It's getting late, so I'll send you back. Although Diagon Alley is still relatively safe, young people should try not to wander around at night."
"Thank you, Professor McGonagall. Before leaving, let me treat you to a cold drink. After all, you've wasted most of the day, and this is to express my gratitude. →" Anduin suggested to Professor McGonagall, seeing that there was still some time before dark. At the same time, he had been in Diagon Alley for so long and was a little tired. He also wanted to ask Professor McGonagall about things in the magical world.
"Alright, but don't take too much time," Professor McGonagall thought for a moment and agreed, feeling that it wouldn't take too long.
After saying that, the two came to Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour in Diagon Alley, ordered two cold drinks, and found a place to sit down.
"Professor McGonagall, now that I have a wand, can I practice spells?" Anduin asked the professor after taking a sip of his drink.
"Don't be too ambitious, Anduin. Spells are much more complicated than you think. Releasing spells randomly can have terrible consequences, especially in the Muggle world. This is a sensitive period, and the Ministry of Magic's detection of magical reactions is very strict."
"The Ministry of Magic has a spell to detect magical activity by wizards under the age of seventeen, called the Trace. The Ministry of Magic uses it to discover underage magic, so don't use your wand casually in the orphanage. If you use a spell in a gathering place of wizards, the Ministry of Magic may not be able to accurately locate you, but in the Muggle world, it's like a firefly in the dark night," Professor McGonagall patiently explained to Anduin.
"Does that mean it's okay if I use spells in Diagon Alley?" Anduin asked.
"Theoretically, yes, but casting spells randomly without guidance is very dangerous. I know that young wizards like you have a great thirst for knowledge, but I think you'd better put your thirst for knowledge and curiosity in school." Professor McGonagall still fulfilled her duty as a teacher and patiently guided Anduin.
"Okay, I understand." Anduin casually replied, not knowing what he was planning in his heart.
"Are there many professors like you at Hogwarts? What are you usually busy with? And the headmaster of the school, is it Professor Dumbledore? What kind of person is he?" Anduin transformed into a 'why' machine, completely ignoring whether Professor McGonagall could stand it.
"I think you should go to Ravenclaw, young Mr. Wilson." Although Professor McGonagall complained, she still patiently explained his questions to Anduin...
"Dumbledore is the most powerful wizard in the current wizarding world, at least we think so. You can slowly understand him after you enter school. Today, the headmaster is in Hogsmeade, a pure wizard village next to the school. He needs to interview a professor for Divination, although I personally don't think it's necessary to open a Divination class separately."
"Professor McGonagall! I didn't expect to meet you here." Just as Professor McGonagall and Anduin were chatting, a woman's voice came from the door.
Anduin turned his head and saw a man and a woman walking in from the door. The man wore glasses and had bright light brown eyes. His black hair was neatly combed. The woman standing beside him was pregnant, with long dark red hair and almond-shaped eyes. After they greeted Professor McGonagall, they walked towards this side.
"Lily, James, what are you doing here?" Professor McGonagall was surprised to see them and stood up to greet them. Anduin also stood up when he saw this.
"Our child is about to be born, so we came to buy some things. What about you?" James explained to Professor McGonagall, and happened to look at Anduin standing beside him. "Ah, you're here to pick up a new student for shopping. Ordinary wizard families don't need you to come in person. It seems you're here for a Muggle wizard. Young man, where are your parents? Why did they leave you here alone?" James Potter asked Anduin bluntly, feeling like he was one of the family. Lily next to him squeezed James's arm, and James looked at his lover in confusion.
"Your eyes are very sharp. I am indeed a Muggle wizard. As for my parents, I'm sorry, I'm an orphan. My parents passed away a long time ago." Although he felt a little offended, Anduin was not angry because of this. After all, these were the facts. He was a forward-looking person and not so pretentious.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you." James probably realized that he had said something wrong and quickly apologized to Anduin.
On the contrary, Anduin shrugged his shoulders generously.
"This is Anduin Wilson, a new student who is preparing to enroll this year. These two are James Potter and Lily Potter, two of your graduated seniors. Come and sit down together. You just ran to Diagon Alley like this, Lily is still pregnant, aren't you afraid of danger?" Professor McGonagall smoothed things over, introduced them to each other, and sat down together.
"We're not afraid, but unfortunately Lily is about to give birth, so I have to take care of her first, and we have to make some preparations." James looked at his lover Lily, thinking that his child was about to be born, and smiled foolishly again.
Seeing this scene, Anduin couldn't help but guess their identities, staring at Lily and asked, "How many months is the child? Is he about to be born? Have you thought of a name?"
Lily looked at this Muggle wizard freshman and felt very kind. "It is expected to be at the end of the month. As for the child's name, we have discussed it. If it is a boy, it will be called Harry, Harry Potter." Lily finished speaking and looked at James, full of happiness.
Anduin completely confirmed it now. These were the parents of the future savior, the Potters. Although he didn't remember the plot very well, he still knew the protagonist's name. This also confirmed what Anduin had always felt was wrong. Harry's parents were still alive, which meant that Voldemort had not died at this point in time. No wonder there were not many customers in the entire Diagon Alley, and there were Aurors patrolling everywhere.
