Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#40 - Quidditch
"Hey, Anduin, stop dawdling! The Quidditch match is about to start, and I've never seen one in person before. Do you think I have a chance of becoming a Quidditch player?" Vivian tugged at Anduin, happily running towards the pitch, as if afraid of not getting a good spot if they were late. ReadМ
Anduin wasn't particularly interested in this barbaric game, but who told him to be in such a good mood today? With Hagrid's help, that batch of potions sold smoothly, and the income of 240 Galleons eased Anduin's financial tension.
On the way back from Hagrid's, he happened to run into Vivian, who was preparing to watch the Quidditch match. He was in a rare good mood, so he decided to join Vivian in the fun.
Anduin's flying class grades weren't particularly outstanding; they could only be considered mediocre. His advantage might be that his sense of balance wasn't bad, and his flying was stable and didn't make many mistakes, but he didn't put too much effort into it.
When he rode a broom, his brain would reflexively start to imagine aerial combat scenarios, but his movement speed wasn't fast, and he was a prominent target, which made him feel that fighting on a flying broom was very unreliable and easily turned him into a target, so he didn't pay much attention to practicing with flying brooms.
On the other hand, Vivian had a very good talent for flying. She picked it up quickly, and by the second flying lesson, she could perform some simple flying maneuvers in the air. After discovering that she finally had a class where she surpassed Anduin, Vivian became even more fascinated with flying brooms. Sure enough, interest is sometimes forced out.
"Which two teams are playing today? I heard that Quidditch can sometimes last for hours. How can anyone find such a game interesting?" Anduin complained, being dragged by Vivian, his clothes wrinkled, and he couldn't help but stop Vivian.
"Oh my god, are you even a Slytherin student? Don't you know that our house is playing against Gryffindor? You really don't care about anything except staying in your room every day!" Vivian looked at Anduin with a speechless expression.
Anduin suddenly understood and said, "I see why you're so excited. I think you want to watch the excitement more than the game."
Vivian retorted unhappily, "I want to watch the excitement and the game even more. I'm not like you, who has no fun. You're not interested in anything except books."
"Then you don't know where the real fun of this world lies," Anduin rolled his eyes, too lazy to argue with Vivian.
Before long, the two approached the Quidditch pitch. Along the way, Vivian kept explaining the rules of Quidditch to Anduin. Anduin actually knew all of this. Charles had excitedly introduced Quidditch to them on the train before, but Vivian was a chatterbox. Sometimes, Anduin couldn't help but want to use a 'Tongue-Tying Curse' on her.→
"It is said that in previous Quidditch matches, some people even drew large machetes and tried to chop off the goalkeeper's head. Hey, isn't that Charles over there, why is he alone?" Vivian, who was still introducing the Quidditch anecdotes she knew, suddenly changed the topic.
Following Vivian's gaze, Anduin also saw that Charles was standing alone at the entrance of the Quidditch pitch.
Vivian took the lead and greeted him, "Charles, long time no see. Are you here to watch the game too? Why aren't you going in? Why are you staying here alone?"
Charles saw that it was Anduin and Vivian and smiled slightly, "Vivian, I'm waiting for my classmates. We reserved seats upstairs, and I'm going to lead the way for the latecomers."
Then Charles looked at Anduin and said, "I haven't seen you in a while. You always appear and disappear except during class. I can occasionally talk to Vivian, but I can never find you. I never got a chance to thank you for what happened last time."
"There's no need to mention that matter again. After all, the relationship between our two houses is relatively tense right now," Anduin didn't want to mention it again, so he hinted.
Charles was also smart enough not to mention it again, but this conversation aroused Vivian's gossip soul again, and she couldn't help but look back and forth between the two with her clever little eyes.
But as the three were talking, a discordant voice interrupted.
"Vivian, Anduin, what are you two doing with a Gryffindor idiot? Mixing with these fools will easily turn you into fools too." Samuel Travers, who was approaching, saw the three talking and couldn't help but step forward and mock them resentfully.
"Travers, you filthy guy, get out of here, I don't want to see you," Charles said to Samuel with a disgusted expression.
"It's my freedom to talk to whoever I want, you can't control me, Travers," Vivian didn't give Travers a good look either.
Anduin just stood aside and watched Travers calmly, too lazy to say anything more.
When Samuel saw that several people dared to be rude, his expression became even more ferocious, and he mocked sarcastically, "Ha, the Gryffindor idiot and the filthy Mudblood are friends, sure enough, they're the same kind of people. Anduin, you're simply a disgrace to Slytherin. Vivian, I advise you not to associate with such people, do you want to tarnish the glory of the Bulstrode family?"
This was just pushing his luck. Anduin saw that this idiot was still being aggressive, and Vivian was so angry that her face turned red, so he spoke out sarcastically, "Yeah, we can't compare to the great pure-blood Travers family. Besides being dogs for the Dark Lord, they also randomly label others. I advise you not to shout so loudly. You know, dogs that bite don't bark, and dogs that only bark but don't bite might be kicked away by their owners one day. Listening to you talk so nicely, your little mouth is like it's smeared with laxatives, constantly spraying outwards. You must have just finished going to the bathroom and eaten your fill before coming here."
"You, how dare you!" When Travers argued with others, he usually just directly sprayed at them. He had never seen this kind of sarcastic remark before, and his blood rushed to his head. He drew his wand and prepared to fight Anduin.
This was in line with Anduin's wishes. As long as he dared to make the first move, he would definitely let him know why the flowers were so red.
"What are you doing? Why are you blocking the entrance to the pitch and not going in?" Unfortunately, Professor McGonagall arrived at this time, looking at the arguing people with a serious expression.
When the few people saw that the professor had arrived, they didn't dare to be presumptuous anymore, and Travers was so angry that his face was flushed red, but he didn't dare to act out in front of the professor, so he could only glare at the few people resentfully before turning around and leaving. Especially towards Anduin, Travers's eyes were almost bleeding.
After Professor McGonagall saw Travers leave, she turned to look at the three and said, "Alright, don't gather at the door anymore, leave quickly. Don't cause me any more trouble."
After Professor McGonagall finished speaking, she turned and entered the pitch.
