Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#270 - Attendance
This situation, accumulated over time, has led to increasingly frequent instances of young wizards slacking off. For example, it's almost time for evening study, and apart from the 6th and 7th years, some students from other years haven't arrived yet. Reading Μ
But just as 7 o'clock arrived, Anduin appeared.
And he appeared out of thin air. Everyone was sitting in the hall, chatting amongst themselves, with a few latecomers rushing in. Then they noticed a figure suddenly appear on the stone steps.
Startling quite a few young wizards, who immediately shut their mouths, then quickly signaled to their still-chattering classmates.

Experienced older wizards immediately recognized it as a Disillusionment Charm. Their prefect must have arrived long ago, but had been concealing himself.
Then they felt a pang of apprehension. If the prefect was invisible, it became obvious where he was and what he was doing that morning. These older students immediately understood.
Subsequently, they looked at the younger students with pity, feeling somewhat fortunate, and gratefully glanced at Velen and Wendy. Many of these older students were pure-blood wizards who were already afraid of Anduin, so they were arguably the most obedient.
Anduin stood on the stone steps, then manipulated his magic to form an air wall with a Barrier Charm, blocking the corridors leading to the dormitories and the outside.
"Evening study officially begins. From now on, anyone who is absent will be marked as truant," Anduin's cold voice echoed throughout the hall.
The young wizards already seated were now trembling as they looked at Anduin on the stage, his face grim.
And those latecomers were blocked by the Barrier Charm at the entrance, now separated by a transparent glass wall, able to see and hear what was happening in the hall, but unable to enter.
"Now, all year group leaders, stand up and report attendance, reporting format: XX year, how many should be present, how many are actually present, how many are absent. If everyone is present, say 'All present,' if not, report the names of the absentees." Anduin ignored everyone's nervous and apprehensive gazes, and said to himself.
The group leaders below could only stand up with bitter expressions, then quickly looked around, counting the number of students in their year as quickly as possible.
Some group leaders stood up with calm expressions, like Velen and Wendy, but more of them looked apprehensive and nervous, because they were missing people.
"Stop dawdling, report quickly. This is a necessary procedure for every study session and meeting. Every minute you waste is wasting everyone's time." Anduin urged with a stern face, then turned his head to look at Velen. "Starting with the 7th year, report in descending order."
"Yes, 7th year, 9 should be present, 9 are actually present, all present," Velen said calmly.
"Good, please sit down." Anduin nodded to him, then looked at Wendy.
"6th year, 12 should be present, 12 are actually present, all present," Wendy said equally calmly. Anduin also signaled her to sit down, then continued to look at the lower years.
"5th year, 15 should be present, 15 are actually present, 1 is absent, Sibyl Rosar, she was actually just one step away from arriving..." Jenny explained, looking at Sibyl, who was blocked in the corridor behind Anduin, but was immediately interrupted by Anduin.
"Don't make excuses. Late is late. If everyone said they were only a little late, what would be the point of being on time? Continue!" Anduin ignored Jenny's defense and turned his head to look at Joey in the fourth year.
Fourth-year group leader Joey was the most nervous at this time, his face covered in sweat, but after seeing Anduin staring straight at him, he had to bite the bullet and report: "4th year, 14 should be present, actually present... actually present 11, 3 are absent, namely Nico Barragan, Arco Rize, and Lumen Haywood."
Joey reported nervously, while looking at Anduin anxiously, he was extremely scared in his heart now.
But Anduin on the stage just listened to the report expressionlessly, and recorded it on the clipboard, then said nothing, didn't even change his expression, just mechanically turned his head to look at the next one.
"3rd year, 17 should be present, 17 are actually present, all present."
"2nd year, 20 should be present, 18 are actually present, 2 are absent, namely..."
"1st year, 23 should be present, 22 are actually present, 1 is absent, the absent person is..."
Soon all the year group leaders had finished reporting attendance. Except for the 3rd, 6th, and 7th years, every year had absentees, and in Slytherin College, which only had 110 people, there were now 6 latecomers, with an absenteeism rate of 5%, which made Anduin's face even more unsightly.
"Do you think I'm joking, or do you think I'm very merciful? After only disappearing for a day, so many people dare to ignore the rules, you're really making a name for yourselves." Anduin snorted coldly, looking at everyone with an unkind tone.
The young wizards who were reprimanded by him were now only trembling, including the latecomers who were blocked outside the stone hall, in the corridor.
"All of you, come in and stand on the stone platform." Anduin waved his hand, and the Barrier Charm at the entrance was lifted. The 6 young wizards in the entrance and dormitory corridors lowered their heads, looking as if they had no face to see anyone, and slowly came to his side.
"Is being late fun? Or does ignoring the rules I set make you feel very capable? It seems you don't take me seriously at all." Anduin stared at the six with a face full of majesty.
"No, that's not it, I, we just forgot the time," one young wizard explained uneasily.
"Forgot the time? What a good excuse, but you can look at the remaining 104 people below the stage, can you explain why they didn't forget the time? And this is only the third day of school." Anduin ignored the other party's defense and questioned coldly.
Being questioned like this, the other young wizards had nothing to say and could only lower their heads awkwardly.
"Since you have violated the rules, you must accept punishment. Let's start with you tonight. Each latecomer will do 30 push-ups on the spot," Anduin said coldly.
Push-ups? The few people standing on the stage looked at each other blankly, they didn't understand what Anduin meant by 'push-ups'.
"It seems you're not very clear, so let someone demonstrate it for you. All future punishments will use this method." Anduin said with a straight face, turning his head to look aside, "Velen, step forward, you demonstrate the movement once."
