Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#228 - Husky?
Beside these two large iron cages were placed smaller metal cages, one of which contained a 'cat weasel' that looked no different from an ordinary cat, except for its lion-like tail.
Another cage held a 'Horned Beast' with a frog-like head, horns, glowing red eyes, tusks, and a body similar to a large dog.
Two fire crabs with gemstone-covered backs, three urchin-like creatures called 'Spiny Urchins', two 'Earth Ferrets' much larger than ordinary ferrets, and a Murtlap rat with a back covered in tentacles were also present.
There was also a Runespoor snake confined in a large transparent glass jar. This creature could stretch and contract at will, and if released, it could probably fill the entire cave instantly.
All of these magical creatures shared a common trait: they were listless, covered in dirt and clay, and looked as if they hadn't been fed for days, making them appear quite pitiful.
Anduin then walked towards the stone chambers carved into the inner side of the cave, each fitted with a metal door. There were four such cells inside, one of which was empty, with a large and tall interior.
In the second cell, Anduin discovered an 'Erumpent', a massive creature with a bulging back, two very sharp golden horns on its head, and slippery tentacles around its mouth. It was also lying listlessly on the ground, and after glancing at Anduin, it closed its eyes again.
But as he walked to the third stone chamber, a piercing roar suddenly erupted from within, accompanied by the sound of straining chains.
Anduin held the oil lamp closer and saw a 'Manticore' locked inside. It glared menacingly out of the cell with its bloodthirsty mouth wide open. It had the body of a lion, but with a long, scorpion-like tail, thick limbs, and sharp, long claws.
At this moment, the Manticore had a thick metal ring around its neck, with four iron chains connecting it to the stone wall behind. It was similarly emaciated, but its eyes still shone with ferocity, and it bore several blood streaks, looking like it had either been whipped or scratched by werewolves.
Upon entering the fourth cell, Anduin was taken aback by the sight of the animal inside.
A husky?
Inside the fourth cell lay a wolf-dog covered in wounds, resembling a Siberian husky from the Muggle world. It was covered in scratches and whip marks, with many of the wounds still bleeding. It looked even worse than the Manticore in the neighboring cell, but despite its severe injuries, its eyes remained sharp and alert, coldly staring at Anduin.
"How can there be an ordinary pet dog here? And judging by the tail, it doesn't look like a Tail-Chaser either?" Anduin muttered in surprise. It was indeed bizarre to find a dog in this cave full of magical creatures.
"I'm not a dog, I'm a wolf, you idiot!"
A slightly weak but clear, youthful voice came from the husky's mouth, startling Anduin. He stared at the husky again, confirming that what he had heard wasn't a hallucination.
"What are you looking at? Are you one of those merchants the werewolves brought to pick out goods? Those guys will wait until you pay before biting you until there's nothing left but bones," the husky said, mustering its strength to look mockingly at Anduin, taunting him coldly.
"Are you a werewolf? Or an Animagus?" Anduin asked curiously, ignoring the other's taunts, now that he had confirmed that the husky could talk.
"What's it to you? Are you going to buy me? I guarantee I'll tear your throat out as soon as I get out, hehe, cough, cough." The husky was clearly too injured, and couldn't help but cough after trying to laugh.
"Take it easy, you don't seem to be on good terms with the werewolves. Well, I'll tell you some good news, those werewolves are all dead. By the way, what's your relationship with those werewolves?" Anduin kindly reminded him, seeing the hatred in the husky's eyes whenever it mentioned werewolves.
"Those werewolves are dead, hahaha, you say they're dead, so they're dead? Who do you think you are?" The husky's tone was even more sarcastic, and the hatred in its eyes remained undiminished.
Seeing that the husky didn't believe him, Anduin turned and left for a moment. When he returned, he threw a werewolf's head in front of the cage door with a 'bang'. The werewolf's head still had a trace of surprise and bewilderment in its eyes.
The husky stared dumbfounded at Anduin throwing out such powerful evidence, then, enduring its wounded body, rushed to the cage door and bit the werewolf's head fiercely through the iron mesh, looking as if it wanted to chew it to pieces and swallow it whole.
Watching this scene, Anduin couldn't help but grimace. This was too unhygienic. He hadn't even dared to touch the dirty werewolf head with his hands.
Kicking the werewolf's head away, Anduin squatted down again, looking coldly at the husky.
"Now, can you answer my questions?"
"Did you really kill all those werewolves? You're not lying to me, are you?" The husky was still unable to calm down from its excitement, and looked earnestly at Anduin.
"Sigh." Anduin sighed helplessly. It seemed that the husky wouldn't speak honestly unless he explained everything clearly.
"I'm not sure if it was all of them, but I killed four in this cave, one in the tunnel at the entrance, and ten last night. And one werewolf wizard escaped, his name was Fenrir, I think. So, to be precise, I killed fifteen werewolves. Are you satisfied now?"
The husky's eyes widened and its mouth opened in shock as it heard Anduin explaining how many werewolves he had killed, as if he were talking about eating a few eggs.
"That's right, you're right about everything, it's them, it's those bastards." After a moment of shock, the husky's tone changed instantly, and then it couldn't help but shed tears, covering its face and weeping on the ground.
It seemed that this husky had a deep entanglement with these werewolves. Anduin felt a little emotional seeing the other party's intense reaction.
"Now can you answer my questions?" Anduin asked again after the husky's emotions had calmed down slightly.
"Ask away, you are my benefactor now, and I will tell you everything I know, cough, cough." It seemed that being so happy and sad had indirectly cost the husky a lot of energy, and it couldn't stop coughing.
Seeing this, Anduin quickly took out a bottle of tonic potion, handed it over, and used magic to control it and feed it to the husky.
