Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts

#169 - XXXX-Class Incident

Just as he opened his office door, an owl flew in, and a letter landed accurately in his hand.

An owl? Hadn't the Ministry of Magic started using paper airplanes to deliver letters some time ago?

With a bit of confusion, Moody opened the brown envelope, took out the letter, and began to read. After only a couple of glances, Moody's expression turned grave.

Then Moody, dragging his wooden leg, moved with surprising speed to the 'Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes,' kicked open the office door, startling the duty officer who was dozing inside. The officer hurriedly looked up and saw Moody with a serious expression.

"What's wrong, Mr. Moody?" Not to mention Death Eaters, even his own side was afraid of this veteran Auror.

"Quick, check if there was a high-energy magical surge near Regent's Park in London!" Moody shouted at the duty officer in an impetuous tone.

The officer, startled by the shout, trembled and immediately began searching the monitoring records.

"Yes, there was, just a short while ago." The duty officer looked at the report with some trepidation. "It's actually, it's a level XXXX magical surge..."

"Why didn't you report it? Were you slacking off again? I must hold you accountable to your supervisor this time!" Moody stamped his staff and yelled.

After hearing the report, Moody immediately confirmed the truth of the letter's contents.

The duty officer had a bitter face and was about to explain something, but Moody immediately ordered loudly, "Immediately notify all Aurors to return to duty, and notify the Hit Wizard team to go directly to Regent's Park in London. Also, get all the duty officers from the 'Accidental Magic Reversal Squad' up and get them to Regent's Park, now!"

Having said that, Moody rushed towards the entrance of the Department of Magic. The only troublesome thing inside the Ministry was that one couldn't use Apparition.

And the employees in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes office knew that something big had happened and quickly took action, and dozens of paper airplanes flew out of the office in a short while.

As soon as Moody left the Ministry of Magic, he quickly Apparated away from the spot.

In Regent's Park, not far from Diagon Alley, it was still very quiet. There weren't many Muggles around in the early morning, but upon closer inspection, there were several potholes of varying sizes in a clearing in the park's woods. The trees were either charred or fallen, and the surrounding area was a terrifying scene of devastation. Clearly, a battle of considerable scale had just taken place here.

Moody, who had just Apparated, made this judgment very quickly after seeing the scene. Moreover, the intensity of the battle might have exceeded his imagination. He could tell with his naked eyes that many powerful spells had been used, such as 'Exploding Charm,' 'Knockback Jinx,' 'Freezing Charm,' 'Cutting Curse,' 'Incendio,' all too obvious.

Moody drew his wand and carefully probed back and forth in the park's woods. Then, his magical eye on the left seemed to have discovered something, looking at a certain clearing next to him, he tentatively called out, "Anduin?"

"It's me, Mr. Moody." As soon as the words fell, the space in that clearing squirmed, and a black-haired teenager walked out of it.

The teenager looked very embarrassed, his clothes, face, and hair covered in dust and blood. At the same time, his right hand was pressing tightly on his left arm, and he seemed to be seriously injured, walking weakly towards Moody.

Seeing this, Moody quickly stepped forward, took out a potion from his pocket, gently supported Anduin's back, and slowly poured the potion into his mouth. Anduin coughed twice.

"Drink slowly, kid. The rescue team will be here soon. Drink some tonic first. Are you okay? Are you badly injured?" The usually fierce Moody said to Anduin in a softer tone.

After drinking the potion, Anduin's slightly pale face gradually regained some color.

"I'm fine, I just suffered some minor injuries. It's just that my magic power is a little overdrawn, and I'm a little tired," Anduin said with a tired expression.

He wasn't lying about being tired, after all, he hadn't slept all night.

"Where are those Death Eaters who attacked you?" Seeing that Anduin was okay, Moody asked about the whereabouts of the attackers.

"After I knocked them down in the previous attack, I hid them with a Shield Charm for fear of being seen by Muggles. I'll release the spell now."

With that, Anduin took out his wand and pointed it at the clearing behind him. Five figures appeared on the originally empty clearing, namely Tokier and others, even Karkaroff was among them, looking unconscious.

"This!" Moody had previously noticed the abnormality there through his magic eye, and guessed that Anduin had cast a spell to hide himself, so he asked. He didn't expect these Death Eaters to be hidden by him instead.

"This is Tokier Travers! And the escaped Goyle, Crabbe, Karkaroff, and this young one is Yaxley, who Dumbledore reminded me to pay attention to before. I didn't expect they were all here."

Moody quickly stepped forward to check the condition of the others, and found that they had been stunned by a Stupefy. At this time, he looked at Anduin in surprise and asked curiously, "In the letter you sent me earlier, you only mentioned that you were attacked by Death Eaters. How come they are all unconscious? Did you do it?"

"That's right, these Death Eaters are really not easy to deal with," Anduin said with a look of relief.

"What's going on? I haven't figured it out yet. Why would they come after you? And why would you be here early in the morning? And how come as soon as something happened, an owl let you notify me immediately?" Moody asked with a puzzled expression, not suspecting Anduin, but the incident happened too suddenly, and there were many details that could not be explained. He now urgently needed to know the answer.

It's like this...

Next, Anduin repeated the cause and course of the incident to Moody.

"Yesterday I came to Diagon Alley, originally to buy some gifts for Augusta and Neville, but I happened to see Tom, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron, whom I hadn't seen for a long time. You should know him."

"Yes, I remember, you seemed to have lived there for a long time before you entered Hogwarts," Moody replied after a moment of recollection.

"That's right, I'm an old friend of his. Because I hadn't seen him for a long time, I planned to stay with him for one night to catch up, so I sent a letter to Augusta to notify her. It happened to be my owl that came when she replied, so I didn't let my owl go back. That night, Tom, my owl Shunfeng, all had dinner at the Leaky Cauldron. Many people saw it," Anduin
