Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#14 - Mad-Eye Moody
“Sirius, what's going on? There was a sudden magical reaction here, so I rushed over with my people.” The leader leaned on a cane, his face scarred and repulsive, with a false eye like an eye patch, darting around, and asked, looking at the two figures, one large and one small, in front of him.
Anduin looked at the suddenly appearing figure, knowing that they were likely Aurors. 'Coming so late, you guys are really something,' he muttered to himself.
Seeing the figure appear, Sirius led Anduin to meet them.
“They're two Death Eaters, I recognize them, it's Snape and Avery. Unfortunately, they're both wearing masks, so there's no way to accuse them. Those two bastards, I wasn't careful and they spotted me, and they chased me all the way to Knockturn Alley. Luckily, Anduin stepped in to help me, otherwise I might not have lasted until you arrived.”
After explaining, Sirius introduced both parties.
“This is Mad-Eye Moody, a veteran Auror and Hit Wizard from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. This is Anduin Wilson, a young friend I just met. He's really good, gave that bastard Avery a good beating. By the way, he's a first-year student about to enroll at Hogwarts this year.” Sirius introduced the two sides, and explained what had just happened to Moody.
After listening to the story, Moody stared at Anduin with his mismatched eyes, “Kid, although what you did was brave, it's not up to a little wizard like you to show off. If something like this happens again, don't be so reckless. If you get hurt, your family will be sad.”
“Mr. Moody, this won't happen again.”
If you guys could have arrived earlier, it wouldn't have been up to me, Anduin thought speechlessly, but he still honestly admitted his mistake to Moody, he didn't want to argue with this guy who looked like Zhong Kui.
“Alright, I won't hold you accountable for casting spells outside of school this time. I'll ask Sirius about the specifics and follow up. Go home quickly, Frank, you're responsible for sending him back.” Mad-Eye Moody acted properly and didn't make things difficult for Anduin, calling Frank Longbottom to help send Anduin home.
“Mr. Moody, I'm an orphan, I live in the Leaky Cauldron now, I can go back myself.”
“What? Then let Frank take you anyway.” Mad-Eye Moody re-examined Anduin, and then realized why an underage wizard would be here, it turned out he lived in Diagon Alley.
Seeing this, Anduin indifferently followed Frank out of the alley, he really had terrible luck today, running into so many things.
“Anduin, thank you, I'll come to see you when I have time.” Sirius shouted at Anduin, who was already far away.
Shouting loudly in the middle of the night, aren't you afraid of disturbing other people's sleep? Anduin turned around and waved at Sirius speechlessly.
Returning to the Leaky Cauldron, Anduin thanked Frank Longbottom for sending him back and returned to his room.
The scenes of what happened today kept flashing in front of Anduin.
“Death Eaters are too dangerous. What exactly was that spell Snape cast? Its penetrating power is so amazing, two Barrier Charms couldn't stop it. It seems that the practice of spells is not enough, the magic density of the Barrier Charm must be strengthened.”
Anduin made up his mind, ready to be even tougher on himself, and would not leave the Leaky Cauldron again before school, he would just stay here and cultivate.
After thinking about it, Anduin took out the amulet again, looking at the copper piece that had saved him, Anduin planned to write to Lily tomorrow to thank her solemnly.
In the following time, Anduin was still very self-disciplined, and studied according to the existing plan. Anduin had basically learned the primary spells and the spells in the 'Dark Arts Defence Primer', and now he had begun to look at the textbooks of 'Transfiguration', 'Herbology', and 'Potions'.
And the day after that night, Sirius came to visit Anduin once, and also talked a lot about his grievances with the Death Eaters, and also talked about a lot of things about the Order of the Phoenix. It seems that many people in the wizarding world know about the Order of the Phoenix, but they don't know who is specifically in it, but Sirius is a well-known member of the Order of the Phoenix.
No wonder he was targeted. In Anduin's eyes, Sirius was a guy who loved to show off, was loyal, had a cheerful personality, but was a little pretentious, but Anduin had a good impression of him.
So, after a while, Anduin became friends with Sirius, and the two began to correspond.
And Anduin's correspondence with Lily continued.
After explaining the reason to Lily in the exchange of letters and thanking her, Lily was very happy that her alchemical gadget could help Anduin, and in turn thanked Anduin, because Sirius Black was also her good friend, and said that the amulet was actually an experimental work of hers, and she was very happy that it could work.
Anduin was very speechless about this. It was really something to take it out and give it away before knowing if it was useful. After that, he began to communicate with Lily about the working principle of the amulet. It should be known that the spell that could cut through two Barrier Charms could be resisted by the spell on this amulet, which made Anduin very curious, and the desire for knowledge in his heart made him unable to help but explore the mystery.
Lily generously explained the principle, but Anduin could not fully understand it. He only knew that the amulet mainly included two rings, one was a stress-response curse, which could be activated automatically in times of danger, and the other was a protective curse, which had Lily's own unique understanding.
Lily said that she learned it from an old book in the school, which contained many methods of casting spells using emotions. Anduin asked Lily about the name of the book, and planned to study it when he entered the school.
And the correspondence with Sirius was not so frequent. At first, one day Anduin suddenly received a package from Sirius, which directly stuffed 200 Galleons, and said that this was a thank you gift for Anduin. In the letter, Sirius said that although he could solve the two Death Eaters himself, he still expressed his gratitude to Anduin for his help.
Originally, Anduin only had a good impression of this guy, but when he saw this, his impression of Sirius, this pretentious guy, greatly improved. This old brother is a rich man, it's okay to directly smash his face with money.
Anduin didn't really want to communicate with this guy, but thinking that he couldn't neglect this big guy, wouldn't he make a fortune if he leaked three melons and two dates from him one day.
So occasionally he would still communicate with him and praise this narcissist, for which Anduin had to endure Sirius's reply full of pretense and boasting.
