Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#134 - ambush
At this moment, as Anduin looked at the gazes around him, like wolves eyeing their prey, he calmly said, "Ah, I just didn't want too much trouble. Solving the problem in one go saves time."
"Besides," Anduin paused, "it's been a long time since I left Hogwarts, and I've been a little short on money lately."
Upon hearing Anduin's words, everyone saw a cold smile on his face before he instantly vanished into thin air before their eyes.
"Quick, attack!" Wilkes shouted hastily upon seeing this.
"It's a Disillusionment Charm, 'Lapifors!'"
Yaxley reacted extremely quickly. With a wave of his wand, a cloud of dust mixed with stones exploded around where Anduin had been, the flying dust spraying in all directions. A figure was faintly visible in the dust, but everyone realized this figure was incredibly fast, already closing in on Wilkes in front.
Seeing Anduin rush towards him so quickly, Wilkes hastily raised his wand to attack. The surrounding people also launched curses and jinxes at the figure, various spells and hexes surging towards the figure's direction.
"Densaugeo!" "Stupefy!" "Petrificus Totalus!" "Expulso!"
But Wilkes saw that the figure was now like a nimble fox, dodging an incoming curse with a tilt of his head. In his eyes, the Petrification Charm was only a centimeter or two away from Anduin's face, yet he still managed to calmly evade it.
After calmly dodging the curse, the figure instantly rushed forward. Wilkes didn't know what expression Anduin had at the moment, but he was panicking.
Wilkes felt as if he had received a heavy blow to the abdomen, and then the figure grabbed his collar and threw him behind himself. At this moment, the curses launched by the others arrived, all hitting Wilkes who had been thrown out. A few stray curses that passed Wilkes were easily deflected by the figure with his wand.
Struck by several curses, Wilkes collapsed into the encirclement with long teeth growing out of his mouth, his body stiff and his face pale.
"Nebulus!"
Everyone heard Anduin chant a spell for the first time, and then they saw a layer of thick fog appear, obscuring their vision.
The besieging crowd faced this situation for the first time. Some of them were clearly nervous, blindly firing curses at the direction where Anduin had been, but obviously their accuracy was questionable in this visibility. Most of the curses missed, and a few that hit landed on their own people instead.
"Ah, damn it, who's hitting me?" "That Mudblood is opposite me, he just fired a curse at me."
For a time, the crowd was in chaos. The wizards who were attacked retaliated in the direction the spells came from, while the wizards who were accidentally injured cursed loudly. Immediately, various curses flew in the thick fog, and wizards were hit by spells from time to time, but they were mostly friendly fire.
At this moment, a figure flickered in and out of the fog, and then someone screamed. The wizards who were approached by him were instantly knocked down.
In just a few seconds, several people involved in the ambush had fallen, some were ambushed by the lurking Anduin, and some were accidentally injured by their companions' curses.
Seeing this situation, Yaxley shouted loudly, "Everyone calm down! Stop casting spells randomly!"
After shouting, he immediately mobilized his magic and cast a powerful Hurricane Charm, trying to blow away the thick fog.
Under Yaxley's spell, the thick fog gradually dissipated. Everyone could now see the situation in the current field. Of the original 17 Pure-blood wizards participating in the ambush, only 11 were still standing. At this moment, a blurry figure could be seen close behind a wizard, one hand grabbing the person's shoulder, a wand pointing at their neck, and then the Stunner from the wand instantly paralyzed them. The wizard then lost the ability to move.
Anduin's Disillusionment Charm had also largely worn off. With one hand holding the paralyzed wizard, he raised his wand and pointed it at the crowd.
"With your meager abilities, you dare to play ambush tactics? No tactical coordination, slow reactions. I was naive, I actually thought you could cause me some trouble." Anduin looked at the remaining 10 people, not stingy with his talent for mockery.
Seeing Anduin reveal himself and still dare to mock them, the crowd couldn't help but attack again, and several curses shot towards Anduin.
But Anduin simply flicked the wand in his hand lightly, and several wizards who had fainted and fallen to the ground flew up under his control, meeting the incoming curses, while using the high-year wizard he was holding as a shield to block the flying curses.
A wizard saw the curse he had cast blocked by the thrown figure, and still heading towards him with undiminished momentum. He quickly used a Levitation Charm to push the flying wizard aside. As a fifth-year student, his strength was not bad, and the spells he used were basically nonverbal, so he coped fairly easily. But just as he wanted to breathe a sigh of relief, he found a Stunning Spell had already reached him.
It turned out that the figure had blocked his line of sight, but he didn't expect Anduin to actually launch a spell hidden behind while pushing these unconscious wizards towards them. By the time he pushed the figure away, he found it was too late to dodge the Stunning Spell.
Using this trick, two more wizards were heavily knocked away.
"Everyone gather together, don't give him a chance to defeat us one by one." Yaxley had lost his initial arrogance at this time, but still remained calm.
Anduin watched the 8 people in front of him move quickly, gathering into two teams. He couldn't help but nod in his heart. That's right, operating in small team sequences can improve attack efficiency, but doing so in front of me is simply courting death.
He sneered. He was waiting for them to gather together. He pushed away the wizard he was using as a shield, reached out and took off a metal button from his chest, and threw it forcefully at one of the teams. At the same time, the snake eyes on his silver snake brooch lit up slightly, and the rune contained within was activated, enveloping Anduin's whole body in a flash of inspiration.
"Buzz!"
The button exploded with a strong silent wave as it approached the crowd. The four people who had just gathered together were instantly dizzy. Anduin found the right angle and launched two 'Expulso' spells, the force produced by the Banishing Charm hit two wizards, and the continuous impact carried them to the other two behind them, instantly knocking all four of them away. After falling to the ground, they were unconscious.
Although Yaxley and Travers, who formed the other team, were some distance away from them, they were also affected by the infrasonic rune, and for a moment they felt their brains were in chaos.
